-Ericsson is not gonna be a pay driver anymore starting next year, his main backer is being like "nope not paying anymore sorry" so this means that CGR has a bit of a situation as that seat is currently funded by Ericsson and his backer himself, however Ericsson has been so damn good you can barely call him a pay driver lmao, so may be that Ericsson moves to the (already funded for next year) seat currently occupied by Palou (who is well, going to McLaren 100%) and someone else with some backing takes over Ericsson's car
Or theres also the chance that Ericsson may be yoinked by another team as hes also really wanted atm, who knows
-McLaren has an interesting situation with Rosenqvist - it was basically common knowledge that when Palou goes to McLaren he would take Rosenqvists seat, however recently been some rumours on maybe McLaren expanding to 4 seats (makes financial sense also, plenty of sponsors to sponsor a 4th car) and keeping Rosenqvist around if his results are good enough - however even if that isnt the case there could be someone else in that 4th seat, like maybe a Callum Ilott or Mick Schumacher
-Speaking of Ilott, he's hot property, basically on the list of every top and mid end team - however unclear if theres a buyout clause ot his contract
-Malukas is hot property also but his father is also seriously considering maybe even starting a team of his own (he already has a Indy NXT team in HMD)

do you guys know any way to join karting without spending relative to 5k a year and without spending 5k+ to buy one

because as a teenager I simply cannot buy a kart and maintain that cost

-It depends on the engine category. 4 strokes will be cheaper in the long run, 2 strokes are much more expensive to run.
-So find out what class will work for you wherever you are.
-Figure out how you will transport the thing.
-Find costs and sources of spare parts.
-Don't drive recklessly or needlessly aggressively, you'll only wear out the tyres and maybe even the engine, and could give higher chances of a crash.
-Have enough knowledge of mechanical bits to be able to do maintenance on the kart yourself, if you need to get a professional to do it the costs will be massive.
-You need access to tools.
-If the track is far away and the event is over multiple days, you will want a place to sleep. If the track is close you can obviously just drive to and from the place.
-You can get karts for cheap, under €2000, just make sure it runs fine and the chassis is straight, hard to tell a price without knowing what class you would be doing though.
-You'll still need an extra €1000 or so for all the other stuff like driver equipment, and more if you need tools.

The only issue I see is the fact that the rich lads will be getting new tyres every day and probably engines every weekend, that's a big advantage. You don't have to do that but their karts will be running much better.

Compound. Yes, there are soft and hard. However, if you choose the soft to get an ounce of grip (warmup was still very, very difficult) you cripple yourself by running a tyre that cannot live with the high energy demands of a track like Spa. Like, unsafe levels of wrong choice.

“Other series make it work”. IMSA run the same tyres, we’ve just been blessed with hotter ambient temps so far. Daytona when it was cold was something. In other series with different tyres and usually much lighter cars cannot be compared, they are not the same.

It can’t be ignored that top class drivers have been struggling with cold tyres since testing of these cars began, and is the energy saved on those tyre warmers less than the cost of crash damage that has been accumulated?

spa had an air temprature of like 10C or whatever it is

As spa showed, the cars were slower than GTE cars driven by AMs on cold tires

Portugal was fine however, because it was like 25-35C air temp and a bit higher track temp which allowed them to get heat a lot quicker
