they got rid of the restrictor plates years ago, and theres nothing wrong about plate racing other than the crashes

they're using tapered spacers insead of restrictor plates, so it's still the same principle of reducing airflow to the engine

as for it being unsafe, i beg to differ. safety has come a long way since the last time NASCAR didn't use restrictor plates, a dozen more mph isn't gonna make much of a difference for safety in my opinion
