Nicolaj Møller Madsen, who is currently racing for AVIA W&S Motorsport in the ADAC GT4 Germany, was sentenced to prison. A Danish court found the 2020 ADAC GT4 Germany champion guilty of causing a serious traffic accident in 2020 in which a woman was seriously injured and committed a hit and run. There were also two speed offenses and phone calls at the wheel.

A Danish court sentenced the GT4 driver to 14 days in prison. In addition, he has to give up his driver's license for a year and a half and has to pay a fine of 13,500 Danish kroner. It's not the first time that Møller Madsen has had to give up his driver's license for a longer period of time because of traffic offenses.

"I feel bad as hell. It was the worst week of my life," Møller Madsen told Ekstra Bladet. “Everyone is affected, my whole family is affected. I have many friends who support me. You know I don't do that kind of thing."

But the successful racing pilot states that he will appeal: "Neither my lawyer nor I believe that the allegation of hit-and-run traffic will stand. There is insufficient evidence for this. I admit that I was the one who hit the woman when she was hit. But I didn't realize that. I accept the penalty on all other counts. But I will go to court again. I'm not a fugitive, so I don't do that. I have nothing to run from. My car is paid for and I don't drink. Getting that label on hurts the most. I went to her immediately after the hearing. I felt the urgent need to apologize. She was touched and told me the only reason she went to court was because she wanted to see what kind of person I am.”

During the Thailand Grand Prix weekend, video footage emerged on social media showing a mechanic from the CIP Moto3 team repeatedly assaulting Booth-Amos at the Buriram circuit in 2019.

Booth-Amos took to social media to confirm the video was real and occurred when he retired from that year’s Thai GP due to an issue caused by a mechanic.

The Briton says he was told by the team at the time to keep quiet, with CIP issuing a statement condemning what happened four years ago.

“Furthermore, it was learned that the person in question continues to work in the paddock and is now employed by a different team, which was unaware of this incident.

“The team has decided to terminate the employment of this staff member, who will not be returning to work for them after the Malaysian Grand Prix.

“The FIM, alongside IRTA and Dorna Sports, considers this to be the correct decision and fully supports the action taken by the team in terminating this person’s contract.

“Abusive behaviour must not and will not be tolerated. All parties will continue to work to make the MotoGP Paddock the safest possible working environment.”
