This would be a real shame if true, for Doohan. I'd love to see Colapinto on the grid next year, but to go back on their word on a driver like this is super disrespectful. F1 is obviously a cut-throat sport, but this just seems unneccessary, seeing as they've built him up in their academy.

The only way I see him going there is if Red Bull aren't willing to pay Williams's release fee, which is apparently too high. I think Colapinto will be at RBR or VCARB next year (though if it's the former that raises serious questions about RBR's young driver system).

While I agree with his statements I do think it is a bit rough on his part. Besides his issue isn't the drivers. They continue to say they don't understand their car. In 2026 it's about to get more complicated so even if they produce a powerful engine they might end up like AMR.
