#

im on latest release 11/14/2025 linggango-V5.9

#

my page file size is default. i have it installed on my external ssd the x6 crucial with usb adapter. unsure if that would cause any issues but i think its worth mentioning

#

and the latest me and my friend were far out via /rtp then did / home and then went into the nether took 10 steps to fight a boss and before we even got to spawn host crashed and didnt get the crashlog sadly. but i dont think we should be crashing this much on a fresh install is there some hard limit that our hardware isnt capable of?

32gb page file is usually not enough when you have 16gb of ram

#

set it to 42

gleaming wigeon
#

i dont think my computer has enough storage space for that. is that the only fix?
(ps the page file by default on my laptop is 7680mb) its not a great laptop. 128gb nvme with windows and essentials filling it up.

#

oh wait nevermind, i found i can set each drive a specific way.
hey if my curseforge and modpacks are located on my D drive, does setting the pagefile on the D drive fix my issue? the C drive is heavily clogged
sorry im not very well versed with page files.

#

alright its changed, ill test it later today

#

when the host is back

#

so the page file is set to 43000mb in the virtual memory tab, i was told to check task manager and it doesnt show the total amount. is that it or is it still non functional? sorry to be a bother if anyone else reads id love the help. ive never touched this setting in the last 3 years of owning a laptop.
with another google, ive read to Lock the C drive to a set amount instead of system managed but i dont think im gonna trust that until later ill check back in

#

my task manager shows this but ive set and restarted twice. task manager wont read the page file on my D drive for some reason. is this a common issue?

#

gleaming wigeon
#

i cleared both temp and %tempt% and prefetch. and did a full shutdown - power on. hoping that would finally set it but nothing. it keeps showing only 24gb committed for some reason
