Yes.
Kirsch is cool af and he defo gonna decide to kill that Prodigy mfer, lol
Eyeball touching was creepy
I was more grossed out by the borderline grooming, lol
The xeno sperm thing burrowing into the lung in a jar π
Ohhhh
Ick
@verbal ridge you mean like the Morrow talking to Slightly?
Or Kid talking to Curly?
When I was watching the premiere with friends I said that he'd better get his legs cut off before the end of the season, lol.
Both, lol.
The Kid stuff is way more unsettling to me the Morrow stuff is weird but you can tell Morrow is trying to abuse his child mind into corporate espionage
Which I guess is fucked up too
It's funny because this really is sorta playing out as "fucked up Peter Pan"
I think he's subconsciously trying to fill the fact that everyone he knows is dead and he's envious that the hybrids are more human than him from his perspective.
Is Morrow the first cyborg we've seen? You'd think they'd be everywhere, with how OP he is
First cyborg we have seen in an Alien live action thing yeah
My friend who's a way bigger Alien fan than me said yes.
Yeah he said something like his worst parts are human
Why tf aren't there more of them? You'd think the shit companies would love having badass cyborg soldiers or something
It was that the human parts they left were the worst. I don't think he was talking up his cybernetics.
I interpreted it as like more metaphysical
He said he had kids too. Also seemed to feel shitty for losing everyone on earth he'd ever known, hence him ignoring Yutani and deciding to finish his mission
Didn't Kirsch call him a cyborg?
I think there is some part that cares about his past life but he definitely cares more about his own goals than his family
Yeah.
Everyone can tell he's a cyborg at a glance because of his arm.
The search and rescue personnel immediately identified him before the xenomorph massacred them.
I thought they were just grabbing him cuz they thought he was a survivor
What's interesting too is that the Ovamorph recognized him as human
A little bit of like
Interesting beat
Like even the primordial parasite recognized his humanity even though he doesn't
I think Morrow is fighting that side of himself, he is trying to hate the parts that make him human to the point where he departs of a decades long journey away from the things that make him human (family, love etc etc)
They call out his cybernetics during the conversation, that's why they get on edge and have him submit to be handcuffed.
I still don't get why the xeno didn't maul Wendy and her brother when they were trapped in that cargo container, lol. It got way too extra with the whole "Hee hoo I'm leaving" thing π
I think it's the signal
Ah
Wendy clearly has some connection to the xenomorphs somehow.
I think the xenomorph is smart enough to tell that Wendy's brother is important to her.
Yeah I really wanna know why she can hear the little ones but not the drones
There was a cryptic line in the first two episodes where her brother says their dad was the last something, but he doesn't finish the line.
So I'm thinking that might be part of it.
(hopefully it's not stupid)
This is pre Nostromo
So assuming the moon is LV426 that the Maginot went to, the Maginot is the first vessel to come in contact with Xenomorph eggs
Hm, what if their dad was the last survivor of whatever colony David fucked up
She very specifically only hears the eggs and the face hugger on the table but she didn't hear shit from the big boi, maybe because big boi did the whole chest bursting thing so its DNA isn't pure anymore?
I might have to rewatch it again but I could have sworn she did hear the Drone xeno
Like she was able to track it or something?
I think she did hear it in the building.
Yeah
Isn't that how she found the xenomorph that was about to kill her brother in the dandy's apartment?
Oh wait, no.
That was Morrow
It was Morrow that saved him. She just found him after he woke up.
I thought she heard the eggs then the xeno sensed eggs were in danger and came for her
I could have sworn when Hermit was separated from her in the stairwell she was able to hear it
Every time she's heard the bad noise it's been the eggs, as far as I've seen
I'll definitely need to look out for that
Also we do know the eggs were found on the Moon right?
I don't think it's been explicitly stated.
As in, no creature made them post Maginot crash
But it's been implied.
It's weird because they were outside of any containment
They said they found it on a "far moon" or something, and this could be how Weyland-Yutani knew where to send the Nostromo.
Yeah that's my theory
MUTHR sent them for LV426 because of what happened to the Maginot
The ones they collected were definitely from post-crash.
The only specimens they had initially were facehuggers.
So Pre crash eggs were the specimens that were on the Maginot and hatched, then the adult xeno created the ones we see
Their computer data mentions the life cycle of the creatures, I think Kirsch knew a bunch about them after reading the ship data
Oh yeah I definitely think Weyland Yutani knew a TON before the expedition
If they extracted the facehuggers from eggs on LV, it would make sense they would know that.
Especially since this was actually a science vessel, as opposed to the Nostromo.
Yeah I think Weyland Yutani knows of the xeno before they did the deep space mission
Which is a cool fact
IDK. You still have to wonder how they knew about it.
Yeah, it's definitely an unknown
I get the feeling there's some in-universe big David event that we still don't know about.
Was the ship in Covenant Weyland-Yutani?
It was
Maybe word got back to them via that somehow.
My theory would be, David infected the colony with the Xenomorph parasite
Maybe Wendys father is a survivor of that event? But I dunno that seems like a lot to throw into a show
The only question would be how he'd get back to Earth.
They threw Prometheus stuff into Romulus, I wouldn't be surprised if it popped up here, too, even if just as background plot.
"Xenomorph data CC Weyland BCC Yutani"
Yeah it's possible
What was the colony named again
I just don't know why Wendy would have this xenomorph connection otherwise.
Origae-6 according to Wikipedia.
It would make sense if it was in her brain
Some sort of frequency she was attuned to that was present in her human brain
I dunno
You'd wonder how they'd miss that assuming Prodigy would have thoroughly examined her brain prior to transferring it.
When is a machine not a machine type shit
Did we ever see what happened to Origae and David?
No.
Nah
They never made the third movie.
So like, how did David's xenos get from Origae to other planets
He was super liberal with fucking with them.
In Covenant there's that scene where he just fucks up the Engineer planet.
Prometheus setting fire etc
Is he just being a freak in a trench coat handing them out in random places? π
"Wanna buy a watch?"
I actually think that's one of the huge problems in Covenant
The LV ship means that the Engineers got a hold of some of them at some point.
Did we really need more engineer shit
And who knows if that was the only instance.
IDK how you do a sequel to Prometheus without it, lol. It's a large part of why I hate Covenant, too.
Like, we know he had xenos and a ship and crew to experiment on and was headed to Origae but was there anything stopping him from heading towards the Inner Rim or whatever and Earth?
I think all the Engineer stuff is reaaaaly not great
I was more flabbergasted they bothered to include it in Romulus.
Just the difficulty of space travel.
And I think he liked the idea of the Covenant's populace being his guinea pigs.
Do either of you care if I spoil that goofy ass Alien Fireteam Elite game, lol?
I don't, lol.
There's ||Engineer|| shit in the DLC
I'm not surprised it's in EU stuff.
I'm more surprised there's ||engineer|| shit happening that far into the timeline, lol. It takes place after Alien 3 iirc
IDK what their standards are.
I think they still assert that Colonial Marines is canon.
Predator seems to have that now with Trachtenberg.
Idk, I just know there's black goo infected xenos in a game that takes place after Alien 3 and Weyland-Yutani of course sends soldiers to deal with it
Alien, Aliens, Alien Romulus, Alien Earth. Alllll bangers
So if it is canon then there's defo still engineer shit fucking with things
There's nothing to indicate the Engineers are completely gone, so I'm not surprised.
If the show ever mentions LV-895 then we'll know the game is canon, lol. It's a weird Engineer research planet that the Engineers abandoned and Weyland-Yutani found, and of course they did experiments there with xenos and funny black goo and got wiped out. Then the marines you play as in the game show up and allegedly clear the planet
That lip thing just doesn't look great LOL
So what are we thinkin
I'm thinkin this thing comes in at the final episode and eats a dude and that's it
Eats a xeno, lol
It's gonna eat someone at exactly the wrong time.
Wendy:
Dude that girl saying she was pregnant just came out of fucking nowhere, lol
It's clear she is rejecting the synth body and thinks her trauma is a literal creature inside of her
This plotline to me, might be the most interesting
Also, Dame said it was a Code 3, I feel like her having a protocol and a button for it implies this has happened or something similar has happened before
I just think they know they're flying blind and have some half-baked protocols they think might work.
Especially since that assistant said even they don't know if they've actually transferred human consciousness or not.
(also, God the trillionaire needs to die violently before the end of the season, lol)
That was her husband
No, I'm talking about the big bald guy.
But yeah I think it's interesting that it's like are they just copying data and killing the kids or if it's a transference
Ohhhhh
Oh the husband mentions it too
We might be having like a SOMA situation
Yeah, but I thought it was a lot more telling that Kavalier's assistant was trying to suss it out by talking to the brother.
Definitely
The husband seemed unsure but this guy seems a lot more deliberate
He seems almost like a martyr
The husband is the only sensible character, lol.
Or speaks in a way a martyr would
Oh he's definitely going to die in some way because he is sensible
Sadge
They really went all out on the Peter Pan stuff this episode though
Like not the Disney version, where he's this nice guy
Kavalier seemed very malicious, manipulative and almost imp like,
More of this twisted version of Peter Pan
He has the combined traits of a lot of the worst billionaires.
He's very much like he's from futuristic Silicon Valley.
Theres this real weird parental complex he has
But yeah, I'm sure he's supposed to be the Peter Pan of the group. I assumed that's why his name is basically "Cavalier Boy."
But that more ties into his fucked up idea of the Lost Boys
Him seeing the brother as a nuisance, too.
Yeah
Morrow is the Captain Hook
In the most literal way possible with the hand LMAO
I noticed the komodo dragon, too, figure either that or the xenomorph is the crocodile, lol
There was that alligator line I think Kavalier said
Yeah
Ill be honest the Wendy Xeno stuff
Not super interesting to me rn
I'm sure it will pay off in some way but I'm kinda like
I feel like I've seen similar story beats in other alien properties
The human becoming the defacto matriarch of the alien kinda thing
I just don't know why she has it. So I can't really judge it.
The answer could easily be really stupid.
Yeah but speaking of something not stupid
That fucking sheep standing up
My ass was like this
I don't know where they're going with these other aliens.
The eye (I named him Seymore) is the coolest new one.
Kavalier made some joke about his blood getting sucked, and we do have those ticks...
Yeah, I think there's some flying ones you can see in the cages that have barely been seen.
They're aliens. It's their thing
I saw a quote from the guy that plays Morrow that mentioned something interesting
When he left earth, he was state of the art
But when he came back he was the equivalent to an iPhone 1 today
I feel like we saw something like that with a synth in the movies.
But yeah, that's potentially interesting.
Just realized that like
Nibs basically sees herself as T Ocellus
She is being inhabiting a dead thing
ok that Alien suit looks cool, but like whoever is in it is fucking awful
Their movements with their hands and head look sooooo bad, I don't think they know where their own eyeliner is
good ep, felt like a mini Alien movie
New episode goes crazy, holy shit
Bruh what fucked off planets were these people going to???
So uh, I've got a bit of a logistics issue with the arm blade. He stabbed the sabatoge dude with it and didn't clean it before it went back in his arm, doesn't that mean he's got other people's blood in his arm now π€’
The fact that there's a planet of those eyeball things is terrifying. I also wasn't expecting it to be helpful at the end, lol
His whole arm is robotic tho
So I dunno if his arm is attached to his circulatory system
Yeah but wouldn't the inner mechanical stuff get gunked up π
Probably like heats it up and burns off the goop!
I need more of the eyeball creature throwing hands with xenos, lol
What if it grabs the cyborg guy and has a round 2 fight with a xeno π
Best episode so far.
Is it just me or does the eyeball seem smart enough that it seems like it's morally good?
Like, it tried to warn the lab lady about the breach, and it didn't kill the replacement captain, not to mention it straight-up threw hands with the xenomorph.
Its definitely smart,
Maybe it had intentions that felt were threatened by escaping parasites, like
it was less about the womans survival and more about its own preservation
I guess it did kill the engineer.
So much for my eyeball being good a good guy theory.
I like how eyeball guy is just like
Wtf is goin on with these people
He's just watching dysfunction unfold
The Xenomorph hanging and landing was so fucking cool though
My god
Fuck that eyeball sheep
Those acid bugs are gonna eat the whole fuckin lab and release everything, lol
I still wanna see what the freaky plant does
Huge fan
Acid bug set up and payoff was cool
Like we see them throughout the show and we don't know what their deal is,
And then you the tray of mechanical parts and ur like hmm
As soon as I saw that it ate rocks I knew he was fucked, lol. God I hated that he went through the door instead of just using the working half of the food airlock system π
Why not just like wait
Mf did not adhere to protocol lmao
I do like how we finally get Kirsh stepping over that edge of distancing himself from Prodigy
Yeah I'm curious what his endgame is
If the last episode plays the Sleep Token song that shares it's name (||Emergence||) in the credits we're gonna witness two fandoms collide in a hysterical way π
Starting the finale
...what the fuck was that
Oh the internet is about to eviscerate it, lol. Oof
Wait, that wasn't the finale?
Thank god
I was pissed
No, it's eight episodes for the season.
Thank fuck
Good episode
Gore was really great in this episode too,
I do hope they explain how she's able to communicate with the Xenos but I'm finding it less and less likely
I wonder who Boy K is getting to be the host for the Eyeball
Gotta be the Doc right?
I assumed the brother.
Oh yeah I guess they are being held captive by the Marines
Consider: He ends up being the host so he can become "the ultimate genius" or whatever
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCskGtGTlio 16 seconds in, if you want to go in fresh into the finale dont watch

If Kavalier doesn't die in the finale we riot.
Something has to happen to Prodigy City, I feel like the Xenos all gotta be wiped out, no?
Otherwise what is the purpose of the lv426 mission
Apparently this isn't in the main continuity.
The boy genius
I want his legs to get cut off.
Overall pretty good, but I think some stuff kinda got lost in the finale sections.
Kinda doesn't feel like an Alien show a lot of the time.
this season is basically all set up
I think it's worth highlighting again how the entire cast killed it throughout the season.
I need a season 2 asap
But that was a great ending
Baby alien was cute π₯Ίπ₯Ήπ₯Ή
Ending was definitely a blue ball, lol
I thought way more of the kids were going to die.
Nah, I figured Team Lost Boys had it in the bag as soon as Wendy got a damn pet Xenomorph
Who is getting sucked by the Eye?
1
2
Can't believe it didn't give anyone fun the suck, lol
