Right now, outside of firemissions, which are not in this game, gunships are the silent and deadly enemy, despite being a huge craft.
Also its weapons are fairly silent and lack any sort of way that they are coming outside of a small blinking light.

Probably the dumbest mechanic, as flares are so free, I belive someone said 500 spawn roundstart, not counting if any are bought.
Not to mention that CAS is frankly, lame, compaired to the other fire support options like, mortar( thumps, whistling, is strong and has a counter) Tank(tank is its own balance discussion, but it is on the frontline, slow, fat, and very noticable where it is)
But then there is CAS, it is everywhere, it is nowhere.
CAS should have some way to let everyone on the battlefeild that it is up. Most maps are open air with a few closed spaces, and gunships would be pretty fucking loud, so having some sort of sfx or hud thing that lets you know that the gunship is overhead.
And for the attack runs itself, having some sort of engine whine as it is comming in for an attack would not only sound really cool, and FEAR RP, and take the guessing work of what 20 flares the pilot is looking at.
