sometimes when you repair fractures, "fractures fractures" message appears instead of "simple fracture" or wtv. Fracture was healed (you dont see it in the scanner and player doesnt feel it). Message changes from 'simple (or whatever the second one was) fracture' into the 'fracture fracture'.

in the med menu it does combine like issues in that tab

so when it says facture (2x) maybe its seeing 2 breaks but tbh I dont know what the other is as we dont have hands.
