with the recent Distress Call round getting to play the Prodigy Forces, it feel much different than playing any other Govfor faction.
Actually, I guess its more accurate to say its not a shortcoming of this specific faction, but of most implementations of the different forces.
I'm trying to get more into the RP and represent the faction well, but with it being a lot of different modes and little time to prep for which faction is being played (and which side im playing), i'm just kinda fumbling around trying to figure it out as the round goes on.
It really felt what made the Prodigy Defence Force unique, is that we cant have lights on our armor lol.
which i actually am fine with - you can make a meaningful choice between picking the sling, or installing a flashlight on your gun!
but really i have 0 clue what makes me a "prodigy" in the prodigy defense force.
Except we are not military. Apparently it's a Private Military Force? But then we also encountered actual PMC's in the same round, which added to the confusion.
It would be great if there were more ways to showcase what makes different factions unique. Maybe it's the company-culture, maybe different jobs have different sub-goals to encourage RP'ing in a certain direction.
Maybe your character-sheet can say something like "less experienced, and less financed", to make them feel more like red-shirts muddling their way through operations.
I don't know if that is desirable, so tell me what you think.
Maybe different posters, decorations, command structure, and ship-layout may all help with this.
Kari Priestess also had a cool suggestion:
"Different ranks would be good
Like the commander for WEYU could be a Fields Operation Leader
SLs could look the PMC part etc etc"
Summed up: Could need more stuff ingame to grab onto so new people can get more into the roleplay of the different factions, ESPECIALLY if they are not Alien-superfans who didn't watch any movies or TV-shows beyond Alien+Aliens.
