"Show on stream" changes the audio output from the dock to the browser source. You need to make sure only a single browser source is producing the sound.

@gentle olive The default resolution for StreamElements overlays (theme and custom) is 1920x1080. Please add them in OBS at their full resolution and use CTRL+F to fit to screen if necessary. You can then downscale your stream in OBS settings > Video if you'd like https://i.imgur.com/6bWXxjR.png

We're not able to troubleshoot issues with using our overlays in StreamLabs OBS (SLOBS) as we don't have the tools to support their software. We recommend using OBS Studio or OBS Studio with our plugin OBS.Live.

Hi

I have the shure sm7b and the Fucusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd generation.

I've set everything in OBS but somehow it doesn't get recorded. But the level rises. however, the microphone works with other programs. If I specify my webcam with a microphone at Obs, it works too. I've really tried everything. Would be nice if someone had an idea.

When someone redeems channel points in chat I have an image show up on screen to help me notice it. Right now it just appears and 4 seconds later it disappears. I want it to zoom in from the center of the screen, maybe do a little elastic bounce at full size, then zoom out back into the middle of the screen. Can I get that control over an image in OBS?

I would recommend to setup your stream via the Facebook Dashboard and go live with "Go Live with Facebook Streamer Dashboard Settings".

@storm grail If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

In Step 3, "Set custom bot name" was already selected and was NOT my Custom Bot Name.
So then I followed Steps 4-5 and signed in as the alt account I used as my Custom Bot Name and clicked [Authorize], but again, the "Set custom bot name" item in the "Current bot name" selector doesn't switch to the alt account, and the 'Send Test Message' button is greyed out and can't be clicked on

Right-click on your OBS desktop shortcut and open the Properties
In the Target field, add the following to the very end: --remote-debugging-port=40404 (don't forget to add a space before the current path)
Open OBS (or restart if it was open)
Open your web browser and type in: localhost:40404
Click on StreamElements - Activity feed
Navigate to the Console tab
Type the following into the console and hit enter: store.customBot.removeCustomBotIntegration()
Try setting the custom bot name
Remove the additional flag in step 2 from your shortcut properties.

Is it possible to add a command through streamelements bot that would allow a mod to either host a channel or end the stream. As an emergency if you for some reason forget to close obs and the stream continues for hours and hours without your knowledge

It's not a huge problem, i have some friends that every now and then forget to close obs, and i forgot it myself a couple of times after using the /host command. Maybe a feature you would consider adding in the future? Would be a nice safety feature just in case

I have a big Issues with OSB Live on an old Mac: I am running OS10.15 on my streaming computer. Streaming runs fine, but i can't display any browser source. When I try to add one, even in a scene only consisting of a static browser source, the screen is just black, as if obs can't reach the web.

To reset goals:

from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

Had that happen to myself as well (forgetting to stop stream after raiding and realizing only after 4 hours).
Basically, "streaming" is controlled by the application (OBS), so if you want to end stream you need to control the application.
This is not something that a Twitch bot or moderator can do, this is something only you (or someone that can control you computer) can do.
For security reasons, I hope no "remote control for 3rd party people" feature is added to OBS, as this will potentially surrender control over your pc to someone else.

@safe torrent If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hello, I recently updated OBSLIVE to 21.3.8.729 and now whenever I start stream my OBS would freeze for a few seconds every few seconds. All my settings are the same as before. I also noticed when I enable preview it doesn't freeze but when I disable preview my FPS shown on the bottom of OBS would fall from 60fps to 48 or even lower. This has never happened before. I'm not sure what to do about this

Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard, and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterward, but not a list of settings.

Hello, so I have two problems, 1 is that if I put my buy rate above 3000kb/s it will not reach it and is stuck below 3k it’s not a problem with the WiFi since I have more than enough, another problem is that when streaming obs says that frames and quality are fine but when I view my test stream the quality and frames are terrible, I’ve gotten my WiFi company out to take a look and they said it’s not the WiFi and that it’s either obs or twitch.

@north glen Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

@thorny rune If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

I encountered a weird issue last night that I'm struggling to resolve.
I have my OBSlive capturing my entire PC sound to output as well as my mic

Hello, an update on my issue, I am receiving alerts for anything paid, ie bits donations and subs all display an alert but followers hosts etc do not get picked up in my obs activity feed and are not displayed by the alert box, anyone know how to fix this its becoming very frustrating, everything was fine yesterday.

Hey,

I am having trouble getting my alert notifications to show during my live streams (Twitch or YouTube).

I currently use OBS Studio (not StreamLabs OBS).

When I test them on the streamelements website (live streaming or just off stream testing, everything works fine.

But when someone follows or subscribe during the stream nothing shows.

I have my alert boxes set to 1920/1080 on the website and in the OBS Studio Scenes.

I am also aware of the privacy settings on YouTube that may prevent getting notifications on YouTube, but again nothing is showing for Twitch either.

Is there anything else that I am missing???

You should be able to go to the Streamelements Menu > OBS.Live Docks > Chat (if you aren't using OBS.Live: View > Docks > Chat).

So not everything can be combined, but if you use SE for the notifications and SE for the chat box, you can go into the online editor and have that all be in one overlay, then use that single source instead of two separate ones

So, I have this weird thing happening where my stream will just stop working randomly. Like, OBS still says I'm streaming, but it just stops uploading. Everything else works perfectly (chat, games, etc.) so I know it's still uploading/downloading data, but the stream itself just stops. It's happened now 3 times in the last 2 days and not sure what's up.
Has anyone else ran into this issue? Any guidance on what to do?

I am having an issue connecting my custom chatbot name account in obs live. It goes through the whole login process authorization then the window closes and does not connect the account.

@digital dune If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

after a recent windows update my encoder overloads every minute or two when streaming. this causes major buddering and loading on stream. any ideas how to fix it. (I already tried lowering output resolution and lowering framerate and it did nothing)

Ryzen 5 3600
RX 5700XT
16gb Trident Z 3600
Stream is also at 720p as It looks the same on 1080p

Stream labels program broke, yesterday it worked fine, today it couldn't start, said folder is corrupt. I tried uninstalling but it said the same error. When I try to do reinstall the installer gets stuck halfway. Then I tried deleting stream labels manually deleting the folders manually in appdata local and roaming, documents, tried uninstall but now it says .exe file missing. Still can't reinstall..

You need to set up the correct devices, which only you know - sadly i can't help you without all the data.

If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

Because a microphone is an audio input. Without adding an audio input capture for your mic to your scene, nobody will hear you.

Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

I’m trying to setup custom bot name, I get to the point to sign into the custom bot, I hit authorize and save but it stays on save, I get an email saying my bot was signed in but my steam bot still says streamelements instead of custom name

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

In the Target field, add the following to the very end: --remote-debugging-port=40404 (don't forget to add a space before the current path)
Open OBS (or restart if it was open)
Open your web browser and type in: localhost:40404
Click on StreamElements - Activity feed
Navigate to the Console tab
Type the following into the console and hit enter: store.customBot.removeCustomBotIntegration()
Try setting the custom bot name
Remove the additional flag in step 2 from your shortcut properties.

I have started using Epidemic Sounds and I can create my own playlists there and I can share those publicly with a link: e.g. https://www.epidemicsound.com/playlist/XYZ and then everyone can access it.

Would it be possible to implement that StreamElements "Media Request" could accept this type of URL as a "backup playlist"? The playlist has all the songs that can be played directly on the website and I was wondering since it works with YT if it would be possible to add this as a feature?

Do you have the "shutdown source when not visible" turned on for overlays? Specially for the one that has the alerts?

You might need to use VoiceMeeter, which allows you to have separate audio channels for separate applications.

Not possible. OBS always records an audio source. You need to set the audio output from that window to a specific soundcard to record it separately

Yeah, I am aware it's not the best solution, but I needed to have separate captures for game/discord/music/chrome and I did not want to capture desktop audio, so it was the only way.
It's a bit complicated to set up first, but once it's done it is pretty stable (using potato since 6 months, no issues apart from Minecraft - which has a workaround anyway so no biggie)

Yeah that can work. The proper solution is to separate everything, route that through audio interfaces into a proper mixer with enough channels, balance everything there and from that get to a proper audio interface input into OBS.

My main issue was that I wanted to have music in stream and recording, but wanted to be able to cut it out when doing video highlights so that the pieces didn't have bits of tracks and then jump to a different track all of a sudden.
With VM I can route the music to a different audio track and remove that track entirely when editing the videos 😄
(yeah, I have complicated setups, I know)

It's an application on your pc, no remote control available.
On OBS you'll have different audio tracks, and those can be controlled by/in OBS (or with StreamDeck buttons in my case)

You can use the TouchOSC phone app to map VM buttons via OSC commands and give yourself a virtual interface on your phone. It’s not the best solution, but I have done it and it does work. It is however a pain to get running

So i have a 2 pc setup for streaming. I am wondering if anyone can help me with how this works? Right now i am getting encoding overloaded on the streaming PC even just using "Fast" when i was expecting that because of 2 PCs i could do "Medium" at least?

That depends on your hardware. For heavy load (games with a lot of moving details like grass) you need the latest 10-12 core CPU for fast and 16 cores for medium for sure

2PC will give you an improvement. But if you want maximum quality, the next step up would be a 2000/3000 series Nvidia GPU with the NVenc encoder or 12+ cores CPU, starting with the 3000 Ryzen series (3900X)

i use the 3900X and sometimes i wish i had more horsepower, but looking at the price - nope 🙂

But i had it easier since i use AMD in both PCs, so this moved from main rig to streaming rig

I suggest looking into a Yamaha AG-03

so you will have the master out from there to the streaming PC and the USB into the streaming PC

Top menu - StreamElements - Logout.

StreamElements supports FB, YT and Twitch currently and OBS.Live can only be active for a single channel on a single platform, this is why the widgets are connected to a Twitch channel.

Hey. I have a problem with logging out my Twitch Account out of OBS.Live. I do have 2 Twitch accounts and i would like to switch StreamElements OBS.Live to use my other account. OBS is already linked to my other, but OBS.Live is not. I already restarted OBS. Can someone help me?

Hey guys, I am having an issue where my I can't hear the TTS from my subs and donations on my streams. I have TTS enabled on my alerts and I can hear them on the stream elements overlay preview but on my stream I can only hear the sound effect of my alert not the TTS that comes after. If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

Hi guys,

I can't see any disconnects in my internet connection (router settings), but all game connections etc. also crash.
If I go offline with the stream, no disconnects in game, etc. appear.

You need to check your PC and your network for issues. We can't really help with disconnects, those are 99,9% network related issues.

Not possible. Twitch can hold the connection for a bit, but it will still create a new stream. Other platforms do not even hold the connection.

in the SE Dashboard you simply need to create an overlay either using an existing template, or one purchased from Nerd or Die/Visuals By Impulse, or using your own custom animations. There is an alert box widget that you can customize in the overlay editor.

You can remove the "shutdown source when not visible" option from there

but beware - those will always be loaded - more hardware usage and they can produce sound

so please do not remove that for overlays that have alertboxes and other widgets with sound

Alright, I was thinking of trying that out, just ended up getting frustrated first time since didn't know how to move around the camera

i have the volume down on my Alerts, but when Stars come through, the Ding that it does on its own is super loud. Anyone aware of how to change that? I feel like it happened after i added Variants. But each variant is down very low as well.

No, because it doesnt have the initial Ding sound that goes off when i receive stars

could it be that this sound is coming from your facebook dashboard or somewhere else?

I wasnt aware that Facebook sends notification sounds. I can look though
