Import can fail when there are:

copyrighted assets from Streamlabs in the scenes
unsupported media files
media files being bigger then 100MB

You'll need to build it manually in the overlay editor instead of using the importer.

No. The only thing that shows on your Twitch page when you're not streaming is your offline screen.

Hello, for some reason my obs will stream certain video games like Hollowknight and Amoug us but if I try to capture specific game captures like Vermintide2 or Darkest Dungeons it will just be a black screen on obs. Why would that be? I am running in admin mode, I tried that after the first time it wouldn't capture those games

Hi! So I'm trying to stream AC Valhalla, and if I use game capture, it does this weird rubberbanding thing. Window capture works with no rubberbanding, but I really don't want to have to deal with the yellow border the whole time I'm playing. No errors are being thrown at the bottom of OBS. Any suggestions?

Hello,
I have a friend who is having trouble streaming only with Ubisoft games! Do we need a precise setting for this kind of game?
he can play other games without having Stream and game lag! but once he launches Ubisoft and a game he have trouble in-game like -> lag: the menu that takes a long time to open, micro-lag in-game and the stream!
On the other hand he does not stream, he has no problem in the game!
and it does this only with Ubisoft games I specify, do you have any solution? thank you so much

@radiant idol To add your overlays to OBS, add a new browser source in your scene. Paste your overlay URL in the browser source properties, set the dimensions to 1920x1080 (unless you changed them on the website) and check Shutdown source when not visible. https://youtu.be/KDvLynUqXI4

I'm not entirely sure where I should post this, but I'm having trouble in Streamelements overlay with the alert box. I have my alert and set the text to show on top of the image. It isn't showing though. Is there a trick to get this to work?

@latent holly Text not showing up over your alerts? Go to the Advanced Text Settings and set the top margin to 50, you can work your way to the right position from there.

Hi there, for some reason when I sign into my custom bot name account under my OBS Live the webpage just disappears, and my custom name doesn't pop up. I get an email saying my sign in was successful, but there isn't any option to "set name to [bot name]" I have all the requirements done (tipping, overlay, ground control etc)

so i have a few questions. does anyone know why i can't use the software in the early morning but i can use it in the evening when streaming. everytime i try to stream in the morning i have so many dropped frames and can stream but in the evening i can stream just fine no issues

@pliant plank Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

I have a question regarding alerts and the chat not working. So I have both setup in my streamelements overlay tab, then linked them to my OBS using a browser source.

It was working fine yesterday, but today when I was streaming, the alerts weren't working and my Twitch chat wasn't showing up on the stream.

Is there anyway to fix this?

@slow pike If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

So ive been having a problem where part of the overlay will just vanish on obslive. I check the stream elements and its ok but refreshing wont fix it. It is random to what scene it happens, its not always the same one. I tried grouping overlay parts which didnt fix it. I even tried another overlay pack and it still does it.

hello, having an issue with the tiltify goal tracker overlay. in the overlay editor it looks correct, but in OBS it's not displaying correctly. This worked fine up until today, and I notice there are issues with overlays today, so I assume it's related?

in addition to the above, im noticing that testing the tiltify donation alert box only shows the alerts on the overlay editor. nothing happens in OBS. follow/sub alerts work just fine though.

oop just fixed this by clicking "Refresh cache of current page" in the OBS browser object properties. tried this earlier and it didn't resolve it, but we're all good now 👍

Hello, I'm having an issue with my alerts. Both when I test in the overlay editor and when I'm live, the stream will correctly play the first alert but ignore any subsequent ones. Hardware Acceleration is off in the settings. Is this a known issue? I didn't have it until today

It seems to work again if I remove the browser source link, and then add it again. But it still only plays the first alert and then ignores all the rest.

I figured it out! If anybody encounters the same issue, try removing the default custom CSS in the browser source.

The default resolution for StreamElements overlays (theme and custom) is 1920x1080. Please add them in OBS at their full resolution and use CTRL+F to fit to screen if necessary. You can then downscale your stream in OBS settings > Video if you'd like https://i.imgur.com/6bWXxjR.png

If I start streaming without a game open, then proceed to open one, OBS drops frames like crazy. It's yelling that my encoding settings are going crazy but I don't know what else to do. If I have a game already open and I start streaming, I can output 60FPS at 1080p for hours... but i just can't close the game or OBS tanks it's own fps.

Well, OBS.Live is a plugin for OBS Studio, meaning that what you are asking about might be out of our scope

#

that being said, here is another idea

#

open task manager -> Details tab -> find obs.exe (i believe it was) -> right click -> set priority -> above normal or high

#

but this encoder overlay might be dependent on what type of game you are starting as well

#

but trying to stream at 1080p60fps might also cause this additional strain on the encode

#

even if the CPU or GPU don't hit 100% usage

I thought it would too, but if I already have the game open I can stream however long I want at a constant 1080/60fps. It only effects OBS when I close it. Wild. Thank you, I'll head back to the OBS Community discord and try more. 🙂

@drowsy bolt If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Ive tried several times to remove and readd the account. Sometimes it sends the test message other times it doesn.t just seems to be finicky. Once I revert it to the regular stream elements bot it works fine.

I'm wondering if there was any button on OBS. Live that allows you to sort of call them back to their original window.

I have a problem with audio sources. I have various sources that can be controlled only through the desktop volume bar (songrequest or chatbot audios for examples)
I need to mute some things in some scenes, and not on others.
If I mute them on desktop volume on a scenes they stay muted when I change scene again.
There's a way to connect desktop volume leves to a particular scene?

How to separate Media Request (MR) audio in OBS:
(Please follow one of the steps for your set up)

MUTE MR FOR YOURSELF, STREAM CAN HEAR

Make a new overlay in the editor, ONLY add the Media Request widget.
Add a new browser source in OBS, add the URL and set the dimensions correctly.
Tick the box for Control audio via OBS https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/712428275049431120/716618713998033047/unknown.png
Go to Edit > Advanced Audio, set your MR overlay to Monitor Off. Note: This will play through the Desktop Audio, if you mute your desktop audio, it will mute the MR.

CONTROL AUDIO SEPARATELY FROM YOU AND STREAM

For this you will need a VAC (use command !vac).
Run your MR either in Chrome or in Ground Control (use command !gc). Note: Do NOT click on SHOW ON STREAM.
Set Chrome or GC in the VAC as an audio input and output.
Add the audio output from VAC as an audio input in OBS. Note: This will not be able to show the video in OBS.

It is currently not possible to separate audio for yourself and stream if you ALSO want to show the video in OBS.
The only way to do this would be to follow the last set of instructions above and then use Window Capture on GC or Chrome.

@rancid whale If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

Hello, I have a problem with the interface changes. None of the changes I make to the interface docks or anything I move ever get saved, and also whenever I close OBS Studio after moving anything, it brings up an error window. I have the crash log. Anything settings wise works just fine, but it's just the interface dock resizing and custom docks that never get saved.

@shy mountain I know you can do that. A lot of programs have an actual button that lets you snap them back onto the program. I had an issue where my chat was no longer on screen because I changed a monitor configuration and I had no way of getting it without restarting the program since they do not appear on the taskbar.

So yeah, I'm just wondering if OBS live has such a button. I feel like if it doesn't it definitely should. But if it doesn't I can also just be extra mindful of that to avoid issues in the future

hmmm. that's about the most of my experience with that. Usually window capture fixes my issues. The only other thing I can think of is if the game is full screen vs windowed vs borderless. I know sometimes tabbing out of a game can cause some weird captures too. Best of luck sorry I couldn't be of more help.

didnt work, the only times they respond is when im in OBS and i click on the "stream elements" tab in the top (next to tools and help) and then click bot and tipping set ups and it shows that my bot and tipping are checked off as good to go... thats the only page when my chat commands respond, when i exit out of that they no longer work

i just need help with finding the best settings for streaming. I switched from streamlabs obs to this obslive which I love. I just want to find out how to record and stream with 60fps. When I record or stream with it saying 1080p 60fps it never looks like it. I do not have any hiccups or any frame loss. Just visually it does not look like 60fps. When I move the camera around in minecraft it get pixilated which i do not know why. My pc specs are; RTX 2080 Super, i7 9700K, 16gb DDR4 3600MHZ Ram

Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterwards, but not a list of settings.

I have done everything possible to get this to stop lagging and it will not. Even went with full uninstall and reinstall as soon as I load up the OBS in preview it locks up and if I try to start the stream it does the same thing.

In this case if you've already tried closing it from task manager and re-opening it, you can try going into your %appdata% folder and find the ground-control folder in there, delete it then re-open the program

When people type the /host command, it's not coming through to my label data in my alerts, thus not triggering the alert. It doesn't seem to be a twitch issue, but an issue with the data in stream elements.

@cobalt gull If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

I have a problem with the interface changes. None of the changes I make to the interface docks or anything I move ever get saved, and also whenever I close OBS Studio after moving anything, it brings up an error window. I have the crash log. Anything settings wise works just fine, but it's just the interface dock resizing and custom docks that never get saved.

Has anyone been having issues with streamelemnts crashing lately when any notification pops up such as follows, subs or hosts?

Mine has crashed the past few times anything has happened.

I say crashed but it's as if the notification happens then streamelemnts losing connection and there is no more uploading of the stream and i have to restart it in order to get the stream back online. I've had my wife check if the internet is working fine as far as any other website and there are no issues on her pc when this occurs

Definitely need some help here if anyone can assist. I just moved and nothing has been changed about my set up. I turn on SE OBS Live and my starting/ending/brb screens are all black instead of showing what they're suppose to.

Things to take into consideration. I have logged in and out on OBS Live as well as the SE website.

Also, have taken and looked at the websites, the previews are working properly. The URLs on OBS is also set appropriately.\

@rare wagon If you are not seeing the OBS Twitch integrations and have OBS.Live installed, please follow these steps:

Make sure you are on the latest and greatest version of OBS.Live
Exit OBS (make sure OBS is not running)
Delete %appdata%\obs-studio\plugin_config\obs-browser\obs_profile_cookies
Start OBS.Live
Settings > Stream > Disconnect > Connect

aye dont worry about the property box just make sure ur advance properties are set for your mic check boxes 1 and 6, vod twitch sound track 6 ur game all boxes and my suggestions have a separate 1 for ur music and have box 1 ticked only. i have 2 audio mixers 1 for music and 1 for alerts. caz on playback videos the music is not playing so it covers you for DMCA

Back again! XD I managed to set Soundtrack but i shows not only on mi desktop audio ba in the mic as well. Mind that right now all sound goes to my headset so the mic can't possibly pic it up. is it going to be a problem?

yeah i never used it every game i have played on other games always black screen. so it needs to be type of games in order for obs game capture source to work.

@potent sequoia imagine if you will having two lanes of traffic. Your PC is trying to send data down each of these two lanes, but they're on different roads entirely. If you put both displays on the same road, the information flows more smoothly.

@pliant vessel you don't get windows notifications or steam notifications if you use Game Capture. There's only a few games that prevent Game capture (CS:GO, Destiny 2 that I can think of off the top of my head). Most other games work just fine

I have had times where it takes a second after I switch to a game capture scene where I have to tab out and back into the game for OBS to recognize it, but eventually it goes. I don't know if there's a compiled list of games that don't work other than CS:GO and Destiny 2 (the two most infamous ones)

Not sure if this is the right channel. I am using the tip jar overlay "hypecup" and for some reason is not showing in OBS. I used the Halloween pumpkin and it worked fine. When I selected a new one, the new tip jar is not appearing. Ideas?
I followed the above SE support bot advice and i still dont see the tip jar in my overlay. Can see it on SE site tho

Hi, I need some assistance please. None of my alerts are working anymore. They were working perfectly fine until part way through my stream where they just stopped for no apparent reason. Hello, I am currently dealing with issues regarding alerts. I have them as a browser source in OBS.live. The sound will play in OBS when I emulate them, however the image will not display on screen. The alerts are at the top of the sources and I've even unchecked source hardware acceleration. I'm not sure what to do to get it working.

Hello SE Support, I'm having this issue with my browser sources in which the animations won't show up. At the start of my stream I've got some bits and it worked properly but after a couple hours, browser sources like chat, music widget, social media pop-up or even alerts doesn't show the animation, i get only the sound. The activity feed panel won't let me refresh the overlay and it's only fixed when I restart OBS which is unfortunately because i have to restart also the livestream. This issue started 2 day ago right when i started playin AC Valhalla, sorry for my bad english.

Also forgot to mention that refreshing the cache of the sources won't do anything

@honest echo No. All my alerts don't work. So whenever someone follows, tips, raids, hosts, cheers or subs, nothing comes up. It was working perfectly fine last night and then midway through my stream it just stopped. Nothing updates. My activity feed doesn't show new events, my widgets don't change to the latest event. It's all just stopped working. I tried again just now and still not working.

3) If it doesn't crash, install OBS.Live too.

Repeat steps 1 and 2
Duplicate the current "Scene Collection" at the very top of OBS, call it something like "Backup" and remove all browser sources in that backup
Install OBS.Live and see if it still crashes

If yes, repeat steps 1 and 2, leave OBS.Live uninstalled, tell us that it didn't work and use your old default scene collection again.

Same here! My alerts aren't popping up. When I get a follow, sub, etc, they don't even show up on my activity feed. They show up on my Twitch Creator Activity feed, but not the Streamelements activity feed. I restarted OBSLive and my computer, I put the Overlay URL back into a browser again, I disconnected Streamelements from my Twitch and reconnected, and they still aren't updating. Earlier they were just delayed by about 10 minutes or so, but now they aren't popping up at all.

Alerts are being delayed due to a massive follower bot spam that we got from multiple channels.
We've mitigated the issue and all alerts except follower alerts should start coming in normally ,as there is a backlog of them.
If subs/cheerts/tips don't show up right away after 30 minutes, please let us know.

Follower Alerts are disabled system wide, due to follower bots hitting a lot of streamers right now.
This caused overload on our system and are currently mitigating this and gradually restoring the alerts back to normal.

from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

@heavy nova To set up the bot for your YouTube stream, please follow these steps:

Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
Go to https://studio.youtube.com/, click on Settings > Community and add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements as a Moderator.
When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

Twitch always registers subs, but for third-party application like sl and StreamElements we need a 'ping' from their API to get it registered

then I would assume so. obs.live is needed for the custom bot name functionality, and if you have 2 instances in which you're logged in I guess it could be caused by that

Sadly there’s nothing we can do on our end, so you’ll have to reach out to them for any further support

I would of hated to buy these lights and they not work for my favorite streaming program. Please let me know.

@rapid dagger There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

@hazy basin If you are not seeing the OBS Twitch integrations and have OBS.Live installed, please follow these steps:

Make sure you are on the latest and greatest version of OBS.Live
Exit OBS (make sure OBS is not running)
Delete %appdata%\obs-studio\plugin_config\obs-browser\obs_profile_cookies
Start OBS.Live
Settings > Stream > Disconnect > Connect

Hey guys, my screen capture is black, I have added the obs the graphic definition to run in battery saving mode, and did "run as administrator" however nothing as changed. I don't use chrome so I don't think is hardware accelaration either.

I don't see any email from them on our Support email line.
That being said, this might be an integration fault and its best for them to come over our Discord and post in #dev-chat channel about this.
From just a glance on the issue described, it might not be us that needs to take a look at the integration it self.

Hi! Just wanted to clarify something. I kind of hit a problem with the chat box on stream elements. Whenever I place the "chat box" on OBS live and I trial/preview the "chat box" by entering text or messages on the stream chat, the text does not appear on the preview. Is this normal? Or do I have to be on stream for the text to appear? Thanks!

Hello. I would like to import the alerts I have for streamelements into obs.live. The only issue is the tts only works when I unmute the preview alerts on my webpage. It seems as though tts does not have sound in obs. Is there another way I can import my alertbox to obs live other than adding a brower source? I only see the option for an overlay.
