At first I have the overlay loaded as a reference between the scenes
Then I show you that I add it as an individual browser source with the shutdown when source is inactive where the alert gets cut off if i'm switcing scenes

Oh yeah I've noticed that, I have a fade luma wipe and I thought about creating an actual stinger to get around that issue

What if you have a 30 second duration alert and you want to switch between scenes?

will you leave the alert to be cut in the beggining/middle/end?

But in general, shut down when not visible should be used for example on the browser source that you usually are not going to use for most of the part

Gotcha, but then again alerts don't really use CPU unless they're active so I guess this saves RAM as it shuts down overlays that would usually be preloaded in RAM or am I wrong?

@mild pasture The delay of your overlays showing is due to your pc re-downloading the overlay when changing scenes.

The best option is to use a stinger transition to hide the loading.

Your other option would be to stop your overlay from closing,
In OBS, right click on the overlay > Properties > untick Shutdown source

Note: This may cause issues so it would also be advised to separate your overlays into things that are safe to keep open (overlay images) and things to be shut down (alert boxes).

@mild pasture so basically you need to copy URL of overlay (not the editor - use 📎 icon in top right corner of overlay editor, or "preview" button in overlays list to get that URL). Then add them as Browser Sources into OBS with 1920x1080 dimensions (OBS defaults to 800x600)

In the meantime you can set the title using the !settitle command in chat (if enabled in your bot command settings) or with the Twitch dashboard: https://dashboard.twitch.tv/stream-manager

@cunning grotto Due to a recent change from Twitch API, these features are affected by the change:

Ground Control does not have Custom Bot name
Subscriber count will count the Channel and any other permanent sub you may have (+1 or +2 or +3 on top).

We are working on fixing both issues, but there is no ETA. OBS.Live still has Custom Bot name working fine in it.

@cunning grotto Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

Note: If you see X channel has hosted you with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.

Hmm -- so channels with at least 1 viewer, does this include the channel itself as a viewer? I see them hosting with +1 viewer by other means, but still it will not trigger?

I'll try and describe in detail first cuz im not sure how to show in screenshots. So, I set everything up and i've done like 4 streams of overwatch to set my audio levels. I originally joined this server yesterday to ask for audio help but I figured it out. I have my game capture set to "any fullscreen application" and even when I opened my new game (Genshin Impact) and selected it under "Specific Window" it does not show on my overlay. However, when I run Overwatch and minimize it, it remains in my streaming overlay preview as intended. I am about to test with The Sims to see if it's a Genshin thing but I feel like its OBS

Every other aspect (like the hotkeys etc) is working fine and I've been using the program all morning I don't know why it's not showing the game

It looks like you need to use Window Capture for Genshin Impact -- recomended settings appear to be "WIndow Mode" so setting it to Fullscreen --might-- help, however Window Capture should pick the game up for you 🙂

It def sounds like an OBS issue, and the various capture methods -- if trial and error with Game / Display and Window capture doesn't work I also suggest the OBS Community 🙂

HI! So i'm having an issue with some alerts, but VERY RANDOM ONES. I do have variants set, and other alerts similar will work. (ex. i have one for bits at least 100) all users that gave 100+ got the alert, one person sent a random amount over 100 & no alert. i've even tried to make their exact bit amount an alert, resend the alert & does not work. If i test that same amount on the editor through the "emulate" it will work. I had the same issue with a resub, all my resubs were working except for one person that resubbed for 10 months, same issue was occurring with the testing/creating an exact variant.

This is literally my first time using Discord, so please excuse any confusion on my part. Haha. I'm having a problem with my overlays. They were working fine until I switched my OBS from Twitch to Restream. I changed my mind and switched back, and now my overlays aren't showing up. When I try to open them in the overlay editor, it just says, "Uh-oh... Invalid authorization token." Any thoughts?

hey guys I switched from stream labs to stream elemetns, used obs v.24 because 25.0.8 still has issues but I needed obs live due to streamdeck and now is my whole icture laging even if I'm not streaming. My cu usasge is on 6.5% max and gpu usage on max 10. I'm using elgato HD60S+ and playing on PS4, witch older verisons of obs there was no roblem witch that, is there some solution?

Could anyone here help me resolve an issue with my alerts? I have my overlay in OBS as a browser source with the address I copied from my StreamElements overlay editor. I can test the alerts on the editor and they work just fine; but when viewers in chat follow me or host me etc, the alerts do not trigger.

@vivid slate If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

2) In the Target field, add the following to the very end: --remote-debugging-port=40404
3) Open OBS (or restart if it was open)
4) Open your web browser and type in: localhost:40404
5) Click on StreamElements - Activity feed
6) Navigate to the Console tab
7) Type the following into the console and hit enter: store.customBot.removeCustomBotIntegration()
8) Try setting the custom bot name
9) Remove the additional flag in step 2 from your shortcut properties.

Hello! I have a question about the "Roll Credits" widget. Once I've formatted it to my likin I add the browser link and everything is fine. Once I switch to the scene that has the browser active however it doesn show the updated followers, bits etc. the only way it shows is if I completely delete the source and re-enter it. Is this common?

hello i have a question. I just received my laptop back from the repair shop. i had to redownload obs. is there something that has changed with the updated version because before i sent it out with the old software i was able to play and listen to the music that was playing. now i don't have the option to do that. i still have the media player but it doesn't play in the stream and the setup in the audio mixer is different now then it was before i sent the computer out. just want to know if there is something that i needed to do or turn on. thank you

You most likely have OBS v26 which I believe messes with some audio stuff from the previous version

It might be best to uninstall only OBS Studio and use the OBS>Live installer to get obs v25.0.8

Hey there, I joined this discord to get help since I have no clue what to do about a problem I have. I've googled all over and messed around with a bunch of settings and I don't feel like I'm having any luck finding a real solution. The gifs in my alerts aren't properly displaying when an alert is triggered by something as simple as a follow. It only shows a small sliver of the gif, but plays all the audio just fine. Any clue why this could be? I've also tried deleting the source and adding a new one, and that didn't help.

Not really. You can try to reinstall the StreamDeck software. That fixed a lot of issues with it.

Then there's not much you can do. OBS.Live is a plugin for OBS Studio. You can try to uninstall OBS.Live, then uninstall OBS Studio. Reinstall OBS Studio and see of it loads. You can also go to Help -> Log Files -> View current log and check if the StreamDeck files gets loaded. I don't have a streamdeck but the .dll file should be in this list:

2) Start your stream/recording for about 30 seconds. Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc.
3) Stop your stream/recording.
4) Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File. Copy the URL and paste the link here.

Note: If you do not see an obsproject.com URL, you will need to update OBS Studio to version 22+.

Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

Hi, im having issues connecting an account for the custom bot name on obslive, it asks me to sign in using my bot account, which i do, i then authorize it, after that the window closes, and obslive is still telling me i need to connect a bot account to use the custom name, its an endless loop, how do i fix it

@exotic cliff 1) Right click on your OBS desktop shortcut and open the Properties
2) In the Target field, add the following to the very end: --remote-debugging-port=40404
3) Open OBS (or restart if it was open)
4) Open your web browser and type in: localhost:40404
5) Click on StreamElements - Activity feed
6) Navigate to the Console tab
7) Type the following into the console and hit enter: store.customBot.removeCustomBotIntegration()
8) Try setting the custom bot name
9) Remove the additional flag in step 2 from your shortcut properties.

so every time i set a goal on my overlay like a follower goal a sub goal or a tip goal it never starts at 0 it starts with my total so say i want to set a new tip goal of $100 i cant cuz it sez i have X total tips witch is how many tip i have ever gotten

from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

If you have your chat, just change view to mod view, so you will be enable to delete messages/timeout users via mouse. You can also type /timeout user 1

Because your canvas isn't 1920x1080. That means that your stream will have black bars on the sides. In OBS go to Settings -> Video and set the canvas size to 1920x1080

I recently had my first donation event and the alert didn't show on stream when it occurred. The individual used the "!donate" command in chat and I only found out after stream via my linked e-mail address. I received no notification in the event panel or in-stream alert. My SE account is setup to display an alert and works when i emulate the event. I have removed and re-added the alert, reloaded the SE browser source link to OBS Live, ensured my SE tipping panel is setup properly, and ensured updates are all current.

Is there something I am missing that will fix this issue? Thank you!

Hello Im having issues with my OBS. My overlays are not staying in place once uploaded and my transitions are not working properly. Everytime I log into my overlay that I want to select it shows a black screen but all of my screens are still showing in place. Also my transitions while im in stream switches when I am gaming. Hot keys are set on certain keys but it transitions on different keys while streaming. is there a way to fix this issue for the overlays and transistions?

@elfin nimbus to add a camera, go to sources, click the plus and go to video capture. Once there, you should be able to choose which camera/software you want to use as long as it is compatible with SE.

@spice bramble there are a couple different programs that are running with obs.live, and you need to make sure you uninstall them all. If one doesn’t uninstall, go to the other and try that. I haven’t had to do this in a while so I can’t remember the order.

@near rivet I had a similar issue where stream deck wasn't showing at all. Try uninstalling Stream Deck and then reinstalling. After I did that, I closed OBS and restarted. Fixed my issue.

So I am broadcasting a stream capture of my ps4, by using the the remote play app, as i have no capture card, and i have the face cam and overlay along with it but i am having issues with audio. so i have royalty free music playing in the background, along with the game audio, along with playstation party audio. i messed with the settings and eventually reached the point where the only audio that was missing my teamates voices. now i messed it up so im not getting any audio. i dont want to stream while i mess with this to make sure my viewers can hear as i might lose viewership. please help

2nd time asking: Update/new install isn't working for me. I verified the files are present where they should be. No luck. I try to uninstall and it won't because install wasn't successful. Is there a list somewhere of files I can manually remove so I can possibly install a fresh copy of OBS.Live?

OBS.Live is not yet updated to support OBS 26.
OBS.Live is also highly dependent on a supported version of OBS Studio. You must uninstall OBS.Live before uninstalling OBS Studio.

There hasn't been a new build since June. Note the version number is a date: 20.6.24, as in 2020-06-24

@vestal mortar Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

Our overlays are meant for the account you usually stream on. Meaning if you have an overlay with our alert widget in your facebook account, you need to add that overlay to OBS. If you have the same overlay in your Youtube account, you also need to add that overlay to OBS

Our overlays are meant for the account you usually stream on. Meaning if you have an overlay with our alert widget in your facebook account, you need to add that overlay to OBS. If you have the same overlay in your Youtube account, you also need to add that overlay to OBS
@shy mountain Apologies if I'm not clear. I'll try to re-phrase it.
For example, if I stream using OBS and use the Stream Service "Restream.io" to simultaneously stream to FB Page and Youtube (both are already added under my StreamElements account), will the alerts that I have setup on the StreamElements overlay (FB) still work even if I'm not using OBS.Live?

3) Open OBS (or restart if it was open)
4) Open your web browser and type in: localhost:40404
5) Click on StreamElements - Activity feed
6) Navigate to the Console tab
7) Type the following into the console and hit enter: store.customBot.removeCustomBotIntegration()
8) Try setting the custom bot name
9) Remove the additional flag in step 2 from your shortcut properties.

@wind basalt If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

In OBS, click the Help menu
Select Crash Reports and then Upload Last Crash Report
Copy the URL and paste it to the chat here.

Note: If you are not able to follow the above steps, open your file explorer and go here: %appdata%\obs-studio\crashes and provide the last listed file.

I recently had my first donation event and the alert didn't show on stream when it occurred. The individual used the "!donate" command in chat and I only found out after stream via my linked e-mail address. I received no notification in the event panel or in-stream alert. My SE account is setup to display an alert and works when i emulate the event. I have removed and re-added the alert, reloaded the SE browser source link to OBS Live, ensured my SE tipping panel is setup properly, and ensured updates are all current.

Is there something I am missing that will fix this issue? Thank you!

@buoyant gate If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

If a viewer tipped through PayPal but no information appears in your StreamElements account, this generally means PayPal has held the tip for verification. Until PayPal clears the tip and sends back a confirmation to your StreamElements account, no information will appear there and no alert will play, as that confirmation is the only way for us to be aware of a successful transaction. If you believe there may be an issue with the transaction, you'll need to contact PayPal support as StreamElements is only a passthrough service and never actually gets involved with the transaction or touches the money.

Hey guys, so I'm new to this Server and I rly need some help. So, I recently got a new PC, quite a beast since I wanted tomake better streams for my viewers. Now I got the problem that I barely can stream most games on the settings I want. Like, I wanted to stream for example World of Warcraft on Max Settings. Stream is set to 1080p, 60FPS, 6000KB/s Bitrate etc. But I get huuuuuge FPS Breakdowns on my Stream, everything is fine ingame tho.

PC Specs:

CPU: Intel I9-10900K

GPU: RTX 3080 Gigabyte Eagle OC

I run everything on M.2 Samsung 970 Evo Plus SSDs

My GPU Usage is at 100% but my CPU is chilling at like 28%

I justr want a stable stream on those settings and for some reason that doesnt work even with a beast like that

Try changing you encoder to hardware and change you settings to 720p 60fps 4000 bitrate. At those settings you'll have more transcoding options for your stream anyway

I am having an issue where when I am streaming, a webm file is not looping like it should be. The webm mentioned is a social media loop and it is it's own overlay and source in OBS. Sometimes it just doesn't play, and sometime it just plays halfway through and stops on that frame for the rest of the time

Hey! I am working on getting my Music Request to work and display it on my stream. It plays music, but when I click "show on stream" it gives me a message "No active widgets were detected for media request."

When I watch other videos it looks like the OBS.live usually autmatically creates a source for Media Request when people click that button, but it does not for me. Any ideas?

I have a weird issue with the sub alerts.. i have a overlays separated for some alerts, one with subs and another with all rest, so in the edit mode the sub alert work perfect, but in live version only get image.. no sound (the other alerts work fine), im try to put a new one, put the url in a browser (for discard obslive problem) and only get image.. no sound, what could be the problem?

well.. im put the url in a browser, no obs and still no get sound, i do the same with a follower alert and work fine, i dont think have problems with obs so in that case i get sound from brower.

If it works fine in the browser, then that's even more proof you've enabled or disabled a setting in OBS that is changing how the browser source behaves.

For some reason , lately, I have been dropping frames , and my 60 FPS on obs.live drops to around 40 -55 sometimes. I have never had this problem , any solution?

@clever fox Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

I'm having a problem with my commands not working. They don't work at all. I've tried unjoining and joining the bot, I've remade all of the commands, made the bot a mod on my channel and they still are not working. If anyone can help me, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

with SE bot you can rename the bot to a custom name

Hi all, looking for some help with my obs setup. I have an elgato hd60s+ linked to the ps4 and a camlink4k linked to my camera. The camera has a microphone that is recording my voice. The game sound is going from the ps4 through astro mixamp pro and then back into the elgato. When I load up OBS live, and I start recording, everything works fine, but when I try to record 10-15 minutes later the audio for both the camera and the game are massively delayed (around 15 seconds). I have trauled the internet to try to figure out what settings I need to change but I can't figure it out. Any help would help me keep more of my hair!

hey ppl, so i have been trying to scale things in the streamelements overlay editor for a while, but I cant seem to do it, it only crops. can someone help as to how to scale things in the streamelements overlay editor?

@fallow slate The default resolution for StreamElements overlays (theme and custom) is 1920x1080. Please add them in OBS at their full resolution and use CTRL+F to fit to screen if necessary. You can then downscale your stream in OBS settings > Video if you'd like https://i.imgur.com/6bWXxjR.png
