Hello there. I'm attempting to use the Spitfire Static Super Them for Apex Legends and I can't seem to get my social media links to change. I am able to edit them in the overlay editor, but when I open it in OBS Live, they still say "Twitter" and "Instagram". Thank you for your help

It sounds like you're editing the layer names, not the actual text. Select the widget, open the Settings menu on the left, and change the text field there.

@tidal latch Our Dashboard and Overlay Editor are Chromium Optimized. We strongly recommend using Chrome. Opera GX and the new Microsoft Edge Chromium might work closest to Chrome as its also Chromium built. Firefox also works, but some things might look a bit different or not work. We do not recommend using Internet Explorer with our Dashboard as it does not support functions.
If the website doesn’t work on chrome, be sure none of your plugins are blocking our website or clear your cookies. You can try if the website works in a incognito tab.

3) If it doesn't crash, install OBS.Live too.

Repeat steps 1 and 2
Duplicate the current "Scene Collection" at the very top of OBS, call it something like "Backup" and remove all browser sources in that backup
Install OBS.Live and see if it still crashes

If yes, repeat steps 1 and 2, leave OBS.Live uninstalled, tell us that it didn't work and use your old default scene collection again.

i moved over from streamlabs to stream elements, created an overlay on the streamelements website. added it as a browser source to obs.live in my scene, closed out the program.

today, when i went to go live, my overlay wasnt showing, and obs crashed. now obs/obs.live wont open.
ive uninstalled and reinstalled and rebooted my machine multiple times

im currently using normal obs studio and it runs fine, but as soon as i download and install the obs.live add on it crashes again

Hey guys, I just finsihed my move from Streamlabs/SLOBS to Streamelements/OBS.live for several reasons, so far everything is going great but I do miss ONE thing... in SLOBS there is a feature calles "In-Game Overlay" which let you display chat and recent events on top of your game - since I only have one screen at the moment this was really useful - is there a way to do the same in OBS.live like an add-on or an option I did miss somewhere? Thanks for your help 🙂

@stable hornet Valve has implemented a trusted mode which does not allow OBS to hook CS:GO using Game Capture. Read more in their announcement post here https://blog.counter-strike.net/index.php/2020/07/30736/.

Additionally, they have no plans on allowing OBS in trusted mode.

You will need to run the game in either windowed or borderless fullscreen and use Window Capture instead.
Alternately, you can launch the game with -allow_third_party_software.

@burnt patrol Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

2) In the Target field, add the following to the very end: --remote-debugging-port=40404
3) Open OBS (or restart if it was open)
4) Open your web browser and type in: localhost:40404
5) Click on StreamElements - Activity feed
6) Navigate to the Console tab
7) Type the following into the console and hit enter: store.customBot.removeCustomBotIntegration()
8) Try setting the custom bot name
9) Remove the additional flag in step 2 from your shortcut properties.

Hey, I apologize if my searching was bad, but I tried to find an answer first. How do I disable the chat window from popping out in OBS whenever I engage a raid? It never did this prior to a month or so ago (to the best of my knowledge, I just dealt with it) but now I'd like to fix it. Previously, it would simply change the normal stream chat dock to the new streams chat.

I woke up this morning and attempted to update a overlay that I use every day (i change the date on it) and I now realize that infact - NONE of my overlays are working in OBS this morning at all. @frosty summit If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

With the recent hardware acceleration issues just to see stream elements browser stuff, Ive lost access to one of my other extensions. The other extension is sound alerts and will run if I check hardware acceleration. But that causes my browser on stream elements to go away.

Is this a recent issue that has just cropped up? I used to not have any problems with this.

I stream on SE OBS, when I updated to the latest version. It cut off all data transfer from Twitch to OBS alerts. (Sub goal, alerts don't work). They popup on the website, however not on overlays.

@cobalt flame you're mentioning audio routing stuff. Basically it depends on your setup. Not necessarily something that should be done in OBS specifically

for example I use voicemeeter banana and I can mute discord when needed. You can also 'Deafen' on Discord if you wanna mute it completely

I suggest you find someone that understands about streaming with xbox in general, or even google it
because we don't really look into individual setups, we try to help out with anything and we're here for any SE issue

From short research it seems it would be better to use the xbox app for party audio

with that setup you can use the pc with voicemeeter to control Discord's volume

Ok so I got my capture card all connected and am getting video through my laptop from my PS4. I ran a test record and could not get voice sound on my stream. My headset with mic is hooked up to my DualShock controller. Do I need to change the settings in my PS4? So question on obs.live as well as the streamelements alert/overlays. I got everything in the right position and I can hear the sounds through the stream PC of the alerts I uploaded but the stream cannot hear the alert sounds. Literally just added browser source and everything else works. Anything I have to do to allow the stream to hear the alerts?

@violet current double click browser source, make sure obs can control audio. Then in edit > advanced audio properties, set that source to monitor and output if you want to hear it as well as stream, or monitor off if you want just stream to hear it

In the meantime you can set the title using the !settitle command in chat (if enabled in your bot command settings) or with the Twitch dashboard: https://dashboard.twitch.tv/stream-manager

Is there a way to go back to an old version of obs live? The newest update killed my OBS so hard that it crashes multiple programs and obs itself every 20-30 minutes.

The echo is fixed, and now when I click "Show On Stream" it plays and the widget works for 3 seconds and then disappears and Media request says "No active widgets were detected for media request"

Hey everyone! I have a couple of problems, and I was looking for some help: First problem I have is that, during my stream, my StreamElements animated overlay (Force Field on the Overlay Gallery) freezes. There's no animation, notifications don't show, and there's no way to "reset" the overlay unless I restart OBS. Oddly enough, it only happens in OBS Live, and not on StreamLabs OBS. Is there a way to avoid the overlay freezing on OBS?

And the last question I have is, how do I add the Loyalty Points Store Redemption widget? I'm looking for the code on my StreamElements Dashboard, but can't seem to find it.

I was just streaming, and when I received a follow, only the audio for the follow played. The video didn't appear, no matter what I did. I tried to go to the Streamelements Overlay Editor, but I received an "Invalid Authorization Token" notification. How can I fix this?

2) Start your stream/recording for about 30 seconds. Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc.
3) Stop your stream/recording.
4) Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File. Copy the URL and paste the link here.

Note: If you do not see an obsproject.com URL, you will need to update OBS Studio to version 22+.

I am currently setting up my StreamElements overlay using the manager, trying to change my alerts. I keep seeing the wrong image when do a test alert. You can see in the top left I am using a different file than the one showing up when I test it.. How can I fix this?

@cyan thistle on the top Right before the preview button there is a link where you can find the Browser Source for your overlay. You can load that into OBS by adding a browser source to your scene and pasting that link in 🙂 I hope that helps

@cyan thistle do you have your OBS set up correctly? I can't really tell on your screenshot. for example I have mine set up like this, my screen is 2560x1440 resolution but I stream at a lower resolution. Once you have set that you can then set your Browser scene to the right resolution to then make it fit

@daring olive Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

@latent rivet You can set the Resolution/FPS Type to Custom in the Video Capture Device's properties window and then type in the Resolution manually that you want the camera to be. The Media Request widget's sound is coming from the overlay itself

@oblique root There are some filters that you can apply to the Video Capture Device source by right clicking on the source and selecting Filter, then add the filter you want. Alternatively, you can use software which alters the camera and then select that software as the source instead of selecting the camera directly

from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you loose followers/subs.

Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterwards, but not a list of settings.

I set up a super theme overlay and it's only outputting part of the theme to when I add the link to OBS. On the top left I have webcam border and followers and on the top right I have socials, and only the top left items are in the overlay when I put the link into OBSlive as a browser source. Also, the overlay is not the same size as the canvas, it's just the corner of the canvas I was working on and thus I have to resize it weirdly to get those two items to even work right.

@spare steeple The default resolution for StreamElements overlays (theme and custom) is 1920x1080. Please add them in OBS at their full resolution and use CTRL+F to fit to screen if necessary. You can then downscale your stream in OBS settings > Video if you'd like https://i.imgur.com/6bWXxjR.png

How to separate Media Request (MR) audio in OBS:
(Please follow one of the steps for your set up)

MUTE MR FOR YOURSELF, STREAM CAN HEAR

Make a new overlay in the editor, ONLY add the Media Request widget.
Add a new browser source in OBS, add the URL and set the dimensions correctly.
Tick the box for Control audio via OBS https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/712428275049431120/716618713998033047/unknown.png
Go to Edit > Advanced Audio, set your MR overlay to Monitor Off. Note: This will play through the Desktop Audio, if you mute your desktop audio, it will mute the MR.

CONTROL AUDIO SEPARATELY FROM YOU AND STREAM

For this you will need a VAC (use command !vac).
Run your MR either in Chrome or in Ground Control (use command !gc). Note: Do NOT click on SHOW ON STREAM.
Set Chrome or GC in the VAC as an audio input and output.
Add the audio output from VAC as an audio input in OBS. Note: This will not be able to show the video in OBS.

It is currently not possible to separate audio for yourself and stream if you ALSO want to show the video in OBS.
The only way to do this would be to follow the last set of instructions above and then use Window Capture on GC or Chrome.

Hi just a question, is there a way to import scene collections to streamelements instead of manually recreating scenes one by one? I tried using the import overlay when importing from SLOBS, but I get an error if I include "Import Overlays". It only becomes successful if I import Alerts and Tips

I think with slobs you have to save your scene collection as a .json file and then you can import it into obs

2) Start your stream/recording for about 30 seconds. Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc.
3) Stop your stream/recording.
4) Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File. Copy the URL and paste the link here.

Note: If you do not see an obsproject.com URL, you will need to update OBS Studio to version 22+.

@fiery parrot Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

Note: If you see X channel has hosted you with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.
