StreamElements permissions are only for managing the user's profile on the SE. If you need to manage another resource, in OBS, for example, the user must grant you access and it is not related to StreamElements.

I found out why my streamelements bot wasn't working in stream, if I change the bot's name to my channels name, it won't work anymore. Is that supposed to be like that?

Yesterday I was able to change my bot name to my streamer name. Today I want to change it to another account I made to be my mod and it isn't working. How do I get this to work?

@glad timber If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:
1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSTOM BOT ACCOUNT" button
5.) Log in as usual and "Authorize" the custom bot name
6.) Back in the Activity feed, click on the "SEND TEST MESSAGE" button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

I did this already and the third option is not there. MsGranny is my original custom bot name and I want to change it. I've tried everything that has worked in the past such as disconnecting the connection within twitch to reauthorize, signing out of obslive after reauthorizing and signing back in. I even uninstalled obslive and reinstalled - even unmodded my streamer name, modded the new account name - nothing has worked.

How do I remove the original custom name?

I can't change my stream title but it looks like I can change my game. when I try to change my title it just moves my curser to the end, can't even delete what is there already. I first noticed it a few days ago but I use my streamdeck or just change it from the twitch streamer dashboard so I didn't give it a second thought.

@placid robin We're not able to troubleshoot issues with using our overlays in StreamLabs OBS (SLOBS) as we don't have the tools to support their software. We recommend using OBS Studio or OBS Studio with our plugin OBS.Live.

I play my games in 2560x1440, but I broadcast in 1080p. In OBS I try to use Force Scaling on my game capture to scale the game down to 1920x1080 and fit my stream, but instead the game window just goes black. Is there a fix / better way to do this? For now I am just physically transform scaling the game source down

@novel zephyr , I'm not support but, did you know you can undock all the other panels and just have them on your desktop? Not sure if that helps but I don't see any way to move the preview window. You can however, move the two vertical panels into one slot where one is behind the other and there will be tabs to choose which one to view.

hello, all! I'm having some difficulty with my custom Alert Box. After setting everything up, and copying the browser source into OBS, I'm experiencing two issues. The first is that I'm only getting audio, and no video (the previews within the widgets editor works), and the second is that while I hear the audio in OBS, it doesn't play through the stream itself. @desert apex It sounds like you set the browser source to "control audio via OBS." Which is causing it to play through a device other than your headphones. So you need to open the advanced audio properties and set it to monitor the browser source.

🔹 On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select "Join" under bot settings. If it says "Part" select that and then select "Join" to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
🔹 Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSTOM BOT ACCOUNT" button
5.) Log in as usual and "Authorize" the custom bot name
6.) Back in the Activity feed, click on the "SEND TEST MESSAGE" button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hello, Kurdst here again. My Game capture just shows nothing but a black screen when I run games. I tried choosing the window specifically but nothing still shows

-Running as admin
-Changing compatibility
-Turning off Game Mode

Is there a way to resolve the Game Capture issue or am I forced to use Display Capture?

• All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
• Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

tldr; css opacity and saturation are not showing up properly in obs compared to my browser --- I made some custom scrolling backgrounds using css within a custom widget, but it looks a bit different when loaded in obs vs the browser. Specifically, I reduced the opacity and saturation of some images, but these changes do not seem to reflect in obs. Anyone run into similar issues?

1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSTOM BOT ACCOUNT" button
5.) Log in as usual and "Authorize" the custom bot name
6.) Back in the Activity feed, click on the "SEND TEST MESSAGE" button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

using the website site store front, you won't get a reaction from the bot

The other problem i had, and i'm not sure on how to fix it, is my resolution settings.. i have 2 annoying black sidebars on my stream because the settings by default are 1650x1050 or something like that, and for my life, i cannot change my resolutions settings on both windows and OBS.. I could set my OBS to 1920x1080, but my game capture would stick to 1650x1050 or something like that.. So it messes up my Overlays that i purchased from visual by impulse as well, for some reason i had to manually create every scéne, where it would upload it automaticly before if you know what i mean

Hey StreamElements support, after spending about 2 hours trying to figure out the solution to my problems I have given up and come to you for assistance.
I'm having issues with widgets and overlays on OBS.
My chat widget, activity feed, and music request all show white boxes when they attempt to load.
If I try to reload them sometimes it stays a white box and other times they load, except for the chat one, it refuses to load at all.
Import from other services, Cloud backup, and Edit widget data also give a white screen when trying to load.
My overlays don't load, when i try to refresh their cache I just get a white screen and if I switch to a different scene and back the white screen will be gone but the overlay still won't load.

Hello, I'm having a strange issue with my subscriber alert not showing when selecting the text over image setting. The audio & video appear but the subscriber name does not. It's working fine when I select the column or row setting for some reason. I've included two screenshots. Anyone know what might be causing this?

@tidal crest Text not showing up over your alerts? Go to the Advanced Text Settings and set the top margin to 50, you can work your way to the right position from there.

When I try to show my followers goal/sub goals, it doesnt show the correct numbers?

• from the overlay editor -> session data on top right (monitor symbol) -> goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal
• from the dashboard -> activity feed on the left -> widget data on the right -> goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal
  Note: Goal widgets(progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you loose followers/subs

@sonic ravine If you are referring to the actual viewer list, I can tell you that the dock we open is actually your channel chat and its a 1:1 representation of your chat - as if you've used the "pop-out" option for the chat in Twitch.
Meaning the viewer list is a Twitch problem

and if the viewer list doesn't update

it should updates every 10 to 15 minutes

that being said

if you have 15 viewers, that doesn't mean you have 15 logged in viewers

my obs can capture any game in any resolution / native or stretched

besides 1 game, which is csgo, it can capture the game in borderless but, not in fullscreen / stretched

Hello, I'm new to streamelements - evry time I open OBSlive it has not saved my layout and does not remember my twitch account info, so I have to run the autoconfig wizard to get it to reconnect - would there be any particular reason for this, and is there a way to get it to remember and save?

Hello, my alerts are not showing up live on twitch stream. As far as i know they are set up correctly. When i emulate any alert, it does show up on streamelements but when it should show up live on twitch, it does not.
