After the test completes, click the Share Result button to upload a screenshot, which can then be copied and pasted here.

I tried logout-login but no change, the stream is going on well on correct account, but for some reason chat uses different account (I have several channels under one account). At first several streams everything was fine, but then chat starts appearing under wrong account. Even plugin reinstallation does not help. Probably something broken on my side. Anyway thank for the help.

Hi everyone! I tried to upload a sound file to streamelements (web site, the overlay editor), but it doesn't work. I've seen on a "common bugs" page that it is far smaller than the limit (it's 130 KB), but it keeps saying "failed while uploading file". An idea?

@royal rampart Our Dashboard and Overlay editor are Chromium Optimized. We strongly recommend using Chrome. Opera GX and the new Microsoft Edge Chromium might work closest to Chrome as its also Chromium built. FireFox also works, but some things might look a bit different or not work. We do not recommend using Internet Explorer with our Dashboard as it does not support functions.
If the website doesn’t work on chrome, be sure none of your plugins are blocking our website or clear your cookies. You can try if the website works in a incognito tab.

I don't think so but if you're worried about it what I would think is every time you end stream enable network bandwidth test mode so if you ever do accidentally go live again, nobody will see it. You'd have to add enabling/disabling it to your normal work flow before and after stream though.

Not at this time. The Mac community is pretty small. Also, the main feature of OBS.Live are the browser panels (activity feed, media request...) and these panels are very buggy in vanilla OBS itself because Apple

Hi for the last month I have been having issues with my notifications/ overlay. Its like it crashes within an hour of my stream. The names don't update the last anything and the notifications don't pop up on the overlay, the only thing that still works is the sound. I have multiple overlays and this seems to be only happening on the webm notifications. My other 2 overlays I am just using gifs and they aren't crashing.

@half bridge The default resolution for StreamElements overlays (theme and custom) is 1920x1080. Please add them in OBS at their full resolution and use CTRL+F to fit to screen if necessary.

@torpid latch If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:
1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSTOM BOT ACCOUNT" button
5.) Log in as usual and "Authorize" the custom bot name
6.) Back in the Activity feed, click on the "SEND TEST MESSAGE" button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard, and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterwards, but not a list of settings.

I have a question about NerdorDie.com's "Wicked" Halloween alerts widget. I just contacted NerdorDie yesterday through their discord so they could help add a currency symbol to their donation alert's text. So they went ahead and added it to my already installed alerts package that I have at my Streamelements.com account. However, we were both left wondering if I was not in the US, and I wished to display my donations in Euros or maybe Japanese Yen, for example, would the currency symbol for the donations/tips alert naturally change without me having to do any new coding work from my end?

Here is a snapshot of how "emulating" a donation from my streamelements.com account currently looks in OBS Studio. So everything is looking pretty good!~ But yeah, just curious if this will naturally change over to other currencies with matching currency symbol, decimal points and commas if I set my currency to something else in my donation settings in my streamelements.com account?

@odd kraken I did directly ask a NerdorDie developer at their discord, and they re-directed me to ask Streamelements, since they feel that how things are set in my SE account will affect a new currency and syntax being shown or not.

@odd kraken I seem to have figured it out. You can change the currency in the "tip settings" page, but to get the changes to show up, you have to also scroll down to the bottom of the page to click this button to save the changes to your overlays and such.

It's working perfectly with Euros and albeit other currencies that use decimal points to separate dollar amounts from cents.

Also Japanese Yen is okay, but it's not working properly. Japanese yen is not supposed to have any decimal points to express cents separate from dollars as they actually don't really have dollars or cents...just yen in increasing amounts. So they just start using commas when you get to 1,000yen and up. I'm willing to bet other currencies that use commas are also likely to not be working. How can we send this info to the right department at Stream Elements so they can be aware of the issue and hopefully fix it?

I am aware also, that the only way I probably got a decimal point in there, is from the loophole that the emulator allots me. I don't think it would ever show up for real donations in JPY.

Here is another example. The format is better (since we know decimal points are impossible in JPY), but it still needs at comma after "10", to represent this is in the ten thousands of Japanese yen amounts.

@slow fiber If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:
1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSTOM BOT ACCOUNT" button
5.) Log in as usual and "Authorize" the custom bot name

3) Stop your stream/recording.

(Note: If you do not see an obsproject.com URL, you will need to update OBS Studio to version 22+)

One problem I seem to be having is, when I group things like webcams I'm capturing into a folder, it's not publishing the webcams (sometimes it will work on a cam or two if I click view and unview or delete and create a new one), I have to drag all the cam captures (discord cams I capture individually and had them in a folder)outside any folder or they will not publish. This creates a very long list as I use the same setup for multiple instances.

Yeah, it worked with SLOBS but that breaks my PC so im trying OBS live, the streamdeck mobile uses the regular streamdeck software just rather than usb its over wifi

There's a major problem I have with Media Request and makes this function impossible to use.
I have the Media Request panel as an insertion into a OBS screen. Lately I'm not able to use because the different buttons are being actived with no input. The video start and stops, it jumps from one place to another... And I'm literally doing nothing with my hands.

We have two monitors. One for gaming and one for chat/twitch/discord. Fortnite is the only game while in game that we are able to freely move the mouse between both game and to chat on the other monitor. Valorant and Warzone we cannot do that unless we minimize the game screen in order to get to chat. Any one know a fix for this?

Hey, got a Problem.   4. start OBS.Live
  5. Settings -> Stream -> disconnect -> connect

Hello. I am having an issue where one of my StreamElements panels are appearing on different displays than the one I have them moved to. No matter what I do, I can't seem to get it to go back to normal where OBS.live launches with them in the last place I put them. The chat panel respects it, the activity feed panel doesnt. It always defaults to opening on my main display on app launch instead of the secondary display

What I think is happening here is, OBS is not really seeing the actual size of that particular monitor or is treating it as out of bounds for some reason. Maybe even a pixel off screen can cause that.

For some reason the overlay I'm working on no longer saves.. the variations won't update and when I try to save the overlay it doesn't show that it is saving or has saved and in OBS.Live I don't see the updated version either so it really didn't save.. can/should I just restart the browser without losing progress?

  • from the overlay editor -> session data on top right (monitor symbol) -> goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal
  • from the dashboard -> activity feed on the left -> widget data on the right -> goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal
    Note: Goal widgets(progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you loose followers/subs

Does anyone know if your base (canvas) resolutions alters the quality of your livestream? Although I have a 1440p monitor, I haven't changed my base canvas resolution from 1080p since that would mean I would have to resize all my overlays too

After several months of using the OBS.Live program just fine, it has suddenly decided that it will no longer update correctly; the stream title won't change within the app (if I try to type in the Activity feed's Stream Title field it immediately goes to the end of the line without adding any characters) and hitting save in the Activity Feed does nothing, while trying to leave the Stream Settings window in Activity Feed asks if I want to save changes every time (even though nothing happens).

So I'm not actually sure which channel to post this question in. I have a handful of custom widgets I want to make into an overlay, but streamelements editor is being weird about resizing them (they were all made separately and copied into a single overlay). I can resize the box, but it doesn't resize the contents like it would if I created a new widget in that overlay. Is there an easier way to do this other than to just import them individually into OBS?

Enabling "Show on stream" makes the audio come from the browser source. You need to check the browser source properties and your audio settings to ensure whatever device it's playing through is being captured by OBS.

I’m having audio trouble. Just upgraded to dual pc from single pc and trying to link everything. I’ve watched all of Harris’ goxlr videos trying to sync OBS on the stream pc with the gaming pc goxlr. I have the line in and outs correct. It’s just not showing up on my devices in the Audio tab of Mix/Auxiliary Audio In OBS. No motherboard, no Line in, just shows “disabled” and “Device not connected or available.” Any ideas?

I added the space and I get the same result. I am not sure if this matters, but I have 2 drives in my PC, my OS runs off one drive, and all my programs/storage is on another drive.

@brisk saddle There is a bug with setting the stream title in OBS and the Dev team is investigating.
In the meantime you can set the title using the !settitle command in chat (if enabled in your bot command settings)

Hello! I’m using OBS.live and I’m having issues with my alert overlay. I purchased my alert from Visuals By Impulse and it is extremely choppy / laggy when an alert triggers. Every other aspect of my overlays work fine and I don’t see any huge cpu usage, so I’m kind of stumped as to why it’s happening

How do you reset goals like donations, subs, followers, etc?

  • from the overlay editor -> session data on top right (monitor symbol) -> goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal
  • from the dashboard -> activity feed on the left -> widget data on the right -> goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal
    Note: Goal widgets(progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you loose followers/subs

hello everyone, I am having trouble with my streamdeck and OBS, for some reason stream deck stops working and i have to reconnect my streamdeck to my twich account each time, then it works for 20 mins or so until it stops working again. Is there something I could do in OBS to fix this?

I have a handful of custom widgets I want to make into an overlay, but streamelements editor is being weird about resizing them (they were all made separately and copied into a single overlay). I can resize the box, but it doesn't resize the contents like it would if I created a new widget in that overlay. Is there an easier way to do this other than to just import them individually into OBS?

Hello, please help. Ive been streaming everyday with no issue, today i turn on obs live and cannot hear my voice being monitored through obs, and cannot hear my transition sounds. when i play audio on my pc and talk into mic i can see that its capturing the audio, just cant hear it.

OBS.Live is a plugin for OBS Studio, not its own software. Audio settings and setup is still handled by OBS Studio.

When changing the bot name to myself my commands do not work and need to know how to fix it. When switching back to Stream Elements commands work but not if it is my name.

@idle barn If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:
1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSTOM BOT ACCOUNT" button
5.) Log in as usual and "Authorize" the custom bot name
6.) Back in the Activity feed, click on the "SEND TEST MESSAGE" button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

@mint kite Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

  • All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
  • Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline
    Note: If you see "X channel has hosted you" with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.

@vocal parcel yep. You can “try” to copy the labels to a single overlay but I have zero guarantee it will work

I believe in the overlay editor you can duplicate a layer to a different overlay, which you can try but I don’t believe it works right

Also make sure you sign out of the website and back in before doing the bot stuff
