the file is still not working. they still just say "import failed" - I even tried to just not mess with anything, followed the import article and nothing. (at this point I wouldn't be shocked if it's an issue with streamlabs files rather than the streamelements import itself with how many issues they have)

@alpine ingot There are no "best settings".
Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard, and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterwards, but not a list of settings.

Officially stumped. Trying to capture My gameboy advanced emulator and its just not working. I can get it to pop up for window capture but the picture is zoomed in and will not capture the full screen. I have seen in classic OBS there is an option for select region for window and display capture but I cannot find that option anywhere :/ anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong?

@tough fog capture screen, go to the capture layer in OBS, hold alt and drag the red lines in. That'll crop your capture that you can move and resize without losing the crop

Let go of alt before resizing

As long as the window is on the screen, doing a display capture then cropping should always work

Hi guys, I'm having an issue where Streamelements isn't seeing hosts for 0 viewers. I have friends who actively host me while they are offline during my streams, but no activity is logged in the activity feed either on the web or in OBSLive. Any suggestions?

@inland spindle Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

• All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
• Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline
  Note: If you see "X channel has hosted you" with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.
  Note for Mixer streamers: The above 2 filters currently apply for Mixer and we are aware its actually not how Mixer hosts work. We do plan on changing it, but no ETA on when.

Wi-Fi is not a stable connection to stream over and having an ethernet cable plugged into the streaming machine is best.

I've been using StreamElements overlays and Streamlabs OBS. Unfortunately, I've been occurring the same problem for few days now - not a single browser source is working. I tried re-installing OBS, deleting everything and reloading every source. It worked for a few minutes and that's it. Even tried refreshing cache and nothing.. Screens are completely black...
Can someone help me?

@viscid crow Our Dashboard and Overlay editor are Chromium Optimized. We strongly recommend using Chrome. Opera GX and the new Microsoft Edge Chromium might work closest to Chrome as its also Chromium built. FireFox also works, but some things might look a bit different or not work. We do not recommend using Internet Explorer with our Dashboard as it does not support functions.
If the website doesn’t work on chrome, be sure none of your plugins are blocking our website or clear your cookies. You can try if the website works in a incognito tab.

4. start OBS.Live

@onyx basalt If you are not hearing your Alerts and/or Media request, you are most likely using the "Control Audio via OBS" option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

@tribal smelt Twitch prime (new and resub) and paid subscriptions (resub only) must be shared in chat manually by the person subscribing in order for the subscription information to be sent to StreamElements. For twitch prime, the user needs to have sharing enabled on https://www.twitch.tv/settings/prime. Hello, my activity feed in OBS.LIVE seems to be messed up. It keeps connecting me to my Old Account even though I am connected to my new account on my browser (both on Twitch and Streamelements) aswell as connected to OBS. I've tried multiple ways but everytime I login using twitch it automatically logs in with my old account

Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard, and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterwards, but not a list of settings.

• from the dashboard -> activity feed on the left -> widget data on the right -> goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

My problem is not solved. I talked to you in this server, to a software engineer, IT consultant..
I see no solution except to stop using your overlays(streamelements browser source). The problem was not in StreamLabs. I switched to OBS, started from scratch, installed OBS.Live plugin and that's it. DEAD. Overlays not working, cannot login to Twitch through OBS.Live.
So I unistalled OBS.Live and finally got OBS to work, PARTLY...without overlays. Refreshing cache, shutting down the source...nothing works. I cannot access streamelements.com to make new screen, and no one can help me.
There is no solution?

uninstall the obs.live plugin if you still have it then uninstall obs

set the width to 1920 and the height to 1080

make sure that you have something on your overlay that you can see
(like a text label)

first check your CPU status when u open it, bottlenecked cpu cause audio issues all the time, also check the audio settings from your elgato and in OBS studio and try to match them, its recommended also to check if your audio device in windows audio manager is in the same range too @austere sleet

but if u tried converting it to webm form any other file format u have to use a specific ffmpeg command to maintain the alpha channels

I'm using a ps4 with elgato hd60s to stream but when ever i connect it to my pc it doesnt detect the sound.

but whenever i plug my headphones to the pc it can detect but my friends can't communicate with me true ps4 because my headphones are connected to the pc

I stream from a PC gaming laptop that is new. 2070 graphics card and I've had no problems running any games or streaming from it the past 6 months. I think it has something to do with these specific overlays since they're the only ones causing problems.

2) Start your stream/recording for about 30 seconds. Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc.
3) Stop your stream/recording.
4) Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File. Copy the URL and paste the link here.

(Note: If you do not see an obsproject.com URL, you will need to update OBS Studio to version 22+)

1. Right click on the OBS icon and click on run as administrator .. sometimes this is a game changer 😉

Due to Windows' limitations, using multiple displays with different refresh rates will cause performance issues in hardware-accelerated applications, including OBS. You can fix this by setting all displays to the same refresh rate. An easier solution may be to simply use monitors that all have the same refresh rate.

This problem is fixed in the Windows 10 May 2020 Update, which is currently available in beta via the Windows Insider 'Release Preview' ring. It's expected to start rolling out to users in the second half of May 2020.

Running it as admin, you're basically telling it that it's more important.

It's somewhat of a hotfix.

@unreal eagle Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card and a PC with OBS in order to have Overlays over your console gameplay.

Can anyone hep me out? I am following several different tutorials on how to get the overlay with my camera, but it's not working.

I have the overlay MADE and it's in my Stream Elements, but when I stream, the overlay isn't there and my camera is in my default top-right position. (I would love the middle right position, so that it doesn't cover up important in-game information.)
