I kinda back door fixed it, removed the scene collection I was stuck in, which crashed me, came back in and I was in the same named scene collection but with nothing in it. but now I can switch scene collections again

If the servers change, that's because of Twitch. OBS just fetches the list of servers that Twitch offers.

I have an upload speed of 20+ mbps and I set my bit rate to 4500 and the output being 1080p. I chose the london server (Before I updated) I got dropped frames.

The preset is set to quality and I noticed the colour changing box next to your upload speed whilst streaming changes colour. I shouldnt have to set my bit rate to 3500 with an output to 720p surely ?

If your bitrate isn't stable but you have enough upload, either your network at home or some servers along the road to twitch are having problems. Not much we can do here. Check this guide for some assistance: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

@drifting bluff Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline
Note: If you see "X channel has hosted you" with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.
Note for Mixer streamers: The above 2 filters currently apply for Mixer and we are aware its actually not how Mixer hosts work. We do plan on changing it, but no ETA on when.

So as i expected: it's not capturing the game. It's trying to, but it won't.
9 out of 10 times, this has to do with the game "not hooking", which is either the anti-cheat hook or render mode. 

Just for the sake of sanity, does display capture work?

Not sure if the two are related. Installed the May 2020 Windows update and updated GPU driver with GeForce, go to stream today and one of my overlays is causing a major CPU usage? Greeting Smart People
I am trying to insert a video into my scene. It starts out with a green screen, about a second of silence and then fades in and plays a short clip. However,I can't get it to play to my Desktop, it only plays on stream. If I add monitor it will then procees to generate a click sound at the beginning and the end of the click. Is there a way around that?

1) Right click on your OBS desktop shortcut -> properties - in the "Target" field add this -> --remote-debugging-port=40404
2) Open OBS(or restart if it was open)
3) Open your browser and type in "localhost:40404"
4) Click StreamElements - Media request link
5) Point the (in browser) URL to https://youtube.com/
6) Use the OBS dock to search for a song and play it after ads
7) Restart OBS and preform media request via chat
8) Remove --remote-debugging-port=40404 from shortcut

is there anything i can do to help out with dropped frames. i just dont have the best internet and im running x264 1500 bitrate and 720p scaled resolution at 30 fps but it still shows the red box with usually around 600kb/s

I have another overlay with the same thing but in different locations depending on the game that I am playing. If you have two overlays on SE with different layouts, you're going to have two URL and two browser source in OBS. The overlays in SE are independent of each other.

There wouldn't be cross over. What you build on SE is what you'll see on OBS/stream

There is no StreamElements OBS. OBS.Live is a plugin for OBS Studio, not its own software.

Ok. I just did a trial recording run with OBS version 25.0.8 and the quality is just horrible. pixelated like crazy, anyone got a setup for best possible quality? My pc specs should handle just about anything I throw at it

@mint walrus There are no "best settings".
Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard, and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterwards, but not a list of settings.

In OBS Live, I try to add my custom bot name, and it makes me login as the bot.

Once I do that, the window closes and the bot still doesn't show as added, what do I do?

1) Right click on your OBS desktop shortcut -> properties - in the "Target" field add this -> --remote-debugging-port=40404
2) Open OBS(or restart if it was open)
3) Open your browser and type in "localhost:40404"
4) Click on "StreamElements - Activity feed"
5) navigate to the Console tab
6) type in the console this: store.customBot.removeCustomBotIntegration() and hit enter
7) Try setting the custom bot name
8) remove the added addition of step 1

Hello there good evening!
I've placed a cool Overlay in my OBS stream with Subs total numbers, alerts etc.
For some reason the number of total subs isn't just the same as my channel (103.000 on overlay and 103.890 on YT).
Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Secondly, in the middle of the stream the "alerts" stopped working (it shows up when a new subscriber arrive).
Is there any specific setting I must do on OBS to the Browser source?

Hello. I am just setting up my new build tonight. I installed obs.live and am attempting to load my overlays in a browser source. None of my images load though. My new follower alert works when I emulate it. But my custom camera overlay and sponsor emblems do not show.

If I grab a premade overlay from SE and add that as a camera source there is no issues adding it. I have been using my custom images for weeks now on my old computer with no issues at all.

Im sure this might have been asked. Both my friend and i dont get host or raid alerts or notifications. All of the other alerts work though. Any ideas? Even disconnected streamlabs in the twitch connections

@rich oyster Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline
Note: If you see "X channel has hosted you" with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.
Note for Mixer streamers: The above 2 filters currently apply for Mixer and we are aware its actually not how Mixer hosts work. We do plan on changing it, but no ETA on when.

You cannot add a webcam in the overlay editor, you need to do that in OBS.
You can also create an overlay layer only with the cam border source and use that above the webcam source and the rest in another browser source below the cam source.

Hello, I have a 2 pc streaming setup using an NDI. I was being stupid and was trying to resolve an issue and deleted and reinstalled my NDI on both my Gaming and Streaming PC. The gaming PC has the NDI and seems to be transmitting it. But my streaming PC, which the NDI has been reinstalled, but the obs isnt saying it is there. I have check the OBS plugin folder a hundred times to make sure it is in there, which it is, but I have yet to see it pop up for options in my sources and in the tool bar. Any suggestions?

@fluid pagoda Download the NDI installer here: https://github.com/Palakis/obs-ndi/releases/tag/4.8.0. If you're not seeing "obs-ndi" folder in C:\Program Files\obs-studio\data\obs-plugins, download the archive and extract and paste both folders (data and obs-plugins) into C:\Program Files\obs-studio.

@rugged quail you can't change all your alerts at once and for the font we have a list of the google font there but you can use the "custom font" option and type the name of the font that you have installed on your PC

Hi, I just encountered a problem when trying to stream via StreamlabsOBS instead of the original OBS software. I got the classic blackscreen when I use "Window capture" and find the solution that I could uncheck the box in google browser “Use hardware acceleration when available”. I unchecked the box and now the screen sharing works, the problem now is that when that box is unchecked my CPU is at 95% and everything is lagging (I got GTX 1080 8GB so the graphic card is not the problem). Can someone please help me understand how I can fix this?

@hybrid egret We're not able to troubleshoot issues with using our overlays in StreamLabs OBS (SLOBS) as we don't have the tools to support their software. We recommend using OBS Studio or OBS Studio with our plugin OBS.Live.

I have an issue where when I open Stream Elements OBS without having any browser sources it works, but if i have any overlays or browser sources, 4 obs-browser-page.exe things pop up on my CPU usage tracker, and take up 11-13% each which cause OBS to crash. My overlays also never show up. Does anyone know a fix to this. I am fairly new to OBS

I can't send any messages in it, and when I click on the settings cog, it says "Error loading data." I tried disconnecting my account and reconnecting to no avail, though I did get a popout version of chat that I closed.

Hey i would just like some clear instructions on how to rename the stream elements chat bot. i set up my account months ago, so the bot is active and modded, tip section in my twitch, downloaded ground control and the section to assign a name isnt there. i heard obs.live has instructions but theyre nowhere to be found. any thoughts? thanks

You can rename via OBS.Live this way:

1) Right click on your OBS desktop shortcut -> properties - in the "Target" field add this -> --remote-debugging-port=40404
2) Open OBS(or restart if it was open)
3) Open your browser and type in "localhost:40404"
4) Click on "StreamElements - Activity feed"
5) navigate to the Console tab
6) type in the console this: store.customBot.removeCustomBotIntegration() and hit enter
7) Try setting the custom bot name
8) remove the added addition of step 1

Do that then go into your stream settings on the Activity Feed dock of OBS.Live and click this:

O i used to use NVENC, 6k bitrate and never have issues.. Now I get encoding overload and all kinds of stuff. I switched to X264, very fast and still had issues. Switched it to X264 super fast and still issues.

2) Start your stream/recording for about 30 seconds. Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc.
3) Stop your stream/recording.
4) Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File. Copy the URL and paste the link here.

(Note: If you do not see an obsproject.com URL, you will need to update OBS Studio to version 22+)

@jovial void Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card and a PC with OBS in order to have Overlays over your console gameplay.

from the overlay editor -> data on top -> goal tab -> reset progress of desired goal
from the dashboard -> activity feed on the left -> widget data on the right -> goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal
Note: Goal widgets(progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you loose followers/subs

Hello everyone! I am creating an Alerts section for my overlay, and for some reason the followers alert image does not display. When I test it, an image of a shark dancing appears. All the other alerts are displaying the correct image during testing, and I set everything up the same way. I also tried setting the follower image to a different image that is working elsewhere just in case the image itself was the issue, but that shark still appears. Does anyone know what is causing this and how do I fix it?

@slate siren Our Dashboard and Overlay editor are Chromium Optimized. We strongly recommend using Chrome. Opera GX and the new Microsoft Edge Chromium might work closest to Chrome as its also Chromium built. FireFox also works, but some things might look a bit different or not work. We do not recommend using Internet Explorer with our Dashboard as it does not support functions.
If the website doesn’t work on chrome, be sure none of your plugins are blocking our website or clear your cookies. You can try if the website works in a incognito tab.

so far when i am streaming and i have gotten hosted several times but the alert does not show on stream overlay or alert box on the side and i have changed alert box host alert to show when there 0 viewers to see if it changed but no luck

@quick kiln Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline
Note: If you see "X channel has hosted you" with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.
Note for Mixer streamers: The above 2 filters currently apply for Mixer and we are aware its actually not how Mixer hosts work. We do plan on changing it, but no ETA on when.

If you're seeing emulation in both the Overlay editor AND OBS... it is working.

If it gets from the editor to OBS, it will be shown on stream when an event happens.

@slate siren Users can choose to make the channels that they subscribe to public or private. By default, all settings are set to private.

Private: When a users subscriptions are set to private, no other user can see what channels they subscribe to. A user's account does not show in a channel's Subscribers List, even if they are subscribed.
Public: When users subscriptions are set to public, another user can see what channels they subscribe to. User subscriptions are listed on their channel page, and their account is listed in the Subscribers List for any channel they subscribe to.

Anyone have any idea why i cant get OBS.live to stream to twitch. It was previously set to mixer. I changed services and stream keys. Connected my account but when i hit "Start Streaming", it brings up a stream to mixer page. Thoughts on whats happening?
