This was fun! I bought another streamdeck and plugged it in. Started OBS Live to config the two and make some changes - OBS Live crashed real good! I uninstalled OBS Live and kept just OBS - then I could start OBS with the StreamDeck software whitout crashing. But now I can't see my overlays from StreamElements!

You can download the zip version of OBS and run as is. It'll grab the sources/settings automatically without doing anything.

I’m have a bit of trouble with my stream elements custom overlays and obs. There seems to be a lot of stuttering on things like alerts and customs videos for my stream starting soon screen. When I just import things straight into obs that has never happened. Stream Elements is suppose to reduce the strain on your system right?

Custom Fonts

Steps:

  1. Install the font on the streaming PC or choose a pre-installed windows font.
  2. In the overlay widget settings, select Text Settings
  3. Enable Custom Font
  4. Type the name of the font as it appears in the windows font directory (This is usually C:\Windows\Fonts)

Note: After installing fonts, the browser and OBS must be restarted for the font to appear.

I am here because support requests through OBS StreamElements has gone unanswered for too long.

So I have 2 issues that need addressing and maybe fixed asap, because both are damn annoying and if OBS ever fix their mixer authentication I will dump this add on in a heart beat. Till then It is only because of the mixer side of it I am interested.

Problem 1: If I stream to Youtube, Facebook or Twitch (yes each have their own profile) and close OBS.Live down on any of those profiles, OBS.Live when it starts up changes the loaded profile to connect to Mixer and over right what I had in that profile. The only way I can stop that, is to make sure I am on the Mixer profile before exiting OBS.Live

Problem 2: If I am using OBS.Live and switch to any of the other profiles that is not my Mixer profile, it continually wants to connect to Mixer Authentication every time I start to stream. The only way around this, is to switch to OBS Studio instead.

Both of these options are stopping me from using OBS.Live and as stated I am only using it for the ability to change the Mixer details of what game I am streaming without having to go to the browser. If OBS Studio ever adds that I am dumping OBS.Live.

The Chatbot doesn't work, those two above issues are problematic for me and point blank would like to see it all working!

Profiles are only one part of the equation. OBS.Live has its own login, which you manage in the StreamElements menu at the top.

I think you miss the point, I do not expect my profile to modified each and every time by OBS.Live and I certainly don't expect to be challenged to connect to Mixer on a profile that is not for Mixer.

Your profile is not being modified. If you are logged into Mixer with OBS.Live in the StreamElements menu at the top, then it will continue to try to do Mixer things.

Why can't Stream Elements be smart enough to not do it?? OBS Studio doesn't have that issue, the only issue I have with OBS Studio is I can't change the stream info regarding the gam I am streaming. If it did, I would dump OBS.Live in a heart beat!

StreamElement obs.live is a plugin but on obs you can capture things by window/display and you can alter it to display only what you want by cropping it with the Alt key

Save [Hit OK] (And Restart OBS, to be sure nothing is being phantom captured due to missed hooks)

Good morning/afternoon. I'm new here and trying to figure things to help two streamer friends. I've created overlays based on one of the themes available, but I'm seeing a big delay (over 1 second) when switching scenes and having to load the browser source.
I think I've read somewhere that there are Europe servers (I'm based in Ireland), but also I was wondering if it would make sense to have those overlays as local files, and if so whether that's possible as my dashboard only provides links for the overlays.

Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard, and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterwards, but not a list of settings.

I'm having issues with my Alert Box on OBS.Live. It isn't functioning the same as it is in the SE Editor. Alerts are supposed to be 10 secs in length, IF it works in OBS.Live it lasts maybe 1.5 secs, and most of the time it just blinks and doesn't do anything more. Any suggestions?

So, I have a potentially odd question about OBS.Live. I'm wanting to have different resolutions for recording and streaming. In other words, I'm wanting to keep my stream the exact same as it is, 1920x1080, but I'm wanting to set up a separate scene for recording that's 3840x1080, so that I can record my gameplay and camera "separately", for editing purposes. Is this possible, or do I just need to keep changing my resolution in settings when I want to record, rather than stream? Anyone have any ideas?

Yeah ppl usually have their modem/router in the other room, but it is way better to stream, play and all that on wired casue simply Wifi is not there yet to game on. You could have 8 million down an 1 million up and it will still interfer with everything

For some reason my OBS is really buggy. My scenes keep duplicating themselves, stuff is missing, and I can't edit my scenes at all. Trying to disable the webcam and nothing happens, I can't move it around either. I have no idea what is happening or why, not had any crashing or anything. Google isn't helpful either, people don't seem to be having the same problem as me, from what I am reading. Has anyone else had this issue? I've updated OBS as well as obslive and there is no change.

Hi! I'm not entirely sure where to ask or where to post, But I'm hoping somebody can help me! I just recently picked up an Elgato HD60s to stream Animal Crossing from my switch. After an annoying amount of time, I have it all set up and dandy. However, the audio comes through the capture card source but it echoes onto the desktop audio... This is frustrating as my stream hears it twice or as if there's a weird filter going on.. Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this? ❤️

overlays use desktop audio for the sound.

what you can do is go into the browser properties and select "control audio via obs"
this will give you a mixer for that source so it can be used to output to stream.

NOTE: you will need to untick this option when you unmute your desktop audio as it will cause echoes again @manic cape

Is it possible to have a custom name for you bot on twitch? I followed all the instructions the ususal YT videos give you, like I have fully set up my stream with payment method, overlay etc, I have downloaded the SL Launchpad desktop app etc.
But the cutsom bot name option still does not appear on my Launchpad app. Does anybody know how to fix that?

Hey guys! I just started using OBS.live to try monitor my alerts and whatnot, but I've been thinking about using restream.io and was wondering if there was some way to have different tabs with Twitch alerts, Mixer alerts, and Youtube alerts? I've already got the alertbox themselves set up, just not the alert logs if that makes sense?

Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard, and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterwards, but not a list of settings.

So after 3 days talking to Mixer support about streaming issues I am having wit this plugin and it constantly changing the stream settings that I have setup for the profile.

Mixer DO NOT support anyone using this plugin, that is their words and not mine after they have stated that using this plugin defaults to using RTMP (High Latency) and they advise against this. So, why does this plugin keep changing my profile settings?

@thick ridge If your Mixer stream has "Low Latency" greyed out in the player while using OBS.Live, do the following:

  1. Stop your stream
  2. Go to your stream settings in OBS and return them to your previous settings, where your service is listed as "Mixer.com - FTL"
  3. In "live video settings" for OBS.Live on the left-hand side (in the chat window) change the setting on top of the window to "Go Live with Mixer Broadcast Dashboard settings" and press "Go Live!" from there

Alright fam. Almost ready to start streaming. Been months of setting up. I’ve run a number of test streams, watched a number of videos on getting the best stream quality, etc. when I watch the replay on my test stream account, my webcam (brio) gets all pixelated. The gameplay isn’t very smooth. I’ve tried a number of different options. Kind of at a loss. What are the best settings? My best attempt was (single Pc setup):
-mixer
-1920x1080 base
-1920x1080 output
-60fps
-lanzcos
-Nvenc 264 new
-CBR
-6000kbps
-2 key frame
-max quality preset
-high profile
-look ahead and psycho visual off
-gpu 0
-2 max B frames.
-Above normal process priority
-stream elements ran as administrator.

I run a single pc 2080 super, Intel i9, 32gb 3200 ram. Should be crushing it! System is cool and at less than 50% work. I get 140 FPS in game but it just does not translate at all on stream. I am using a 1440p monitor at 144hz. I tried base canvas 1440p and output 720p, 720p and 720p, and 1440p to 1080. Those all were horrible! Sorry for the length, but any suggestions? Also tried bitrate of 4500 and it was a little worse as well.

But that wasn't showing before either. None of the OBS.live stuff was, which I thought was just because I needed to update but now I think it's a larger issues

Try this:

1) exit OBS (make sure OBS is not running)
2) delete %appdata%\obs-studio\plugin_config\obs-browser\obs_profile_cookies
3) start OBS (make sure its with admin rights)

I even tried deleting the entire obs_streamelements folder. It just comes back when I load up OBS and get asked to do the update.

Hey Hey, I am trying to connect my bot account to OBS.Live using the ground control in obs. But it will not connect, It gives me e-mails that I have logged in but It will not use the custom bot name.

1) Right click on your OBS desktop shortcut -> properties - in the "Target" field add this -> --remote-debugging-port=40404
2) Open OBS(or restart if it was open)
3) Open your browser and type in "localhost:40404"
4) Click on "StreamElements - Activity feed"
5) navigate to the Console tab
6) type in the console this: store.customBot.removeCustomBotIntegration() and hit enter
7) Try setting the custom bot name
8) remove the added addition of step 1

Last night up until 6am my stream ran smoothly through obs. tonight however, none of my overlays, widgets, etc. from SE are showing up in obs. i have refreshed cache, logged out and back in, shut down my computer and even downloaded obsLive and tried there. same issue.
