Hey all, so I'm having trouble with my stream. Been doing it for a long time and I can't get it to show up clear anymore. I run a GTX 1070, with a i7 6700k CPU. I find my recordings and streams are very pixelly even when running game settings low, and having the right settings for obs. Just need help with this

If you cannot access your StreamElements account because your Twitch account has been suspended, then you will need to wait for that suspension to be lifted.
If you linked other channels in your account, you can perhaps bypass this by logging into the other channel first, and then using the Channels dropdown on the top left to switch over.

They're not "buggy;" if they're in the channel that was suspended, then they're looking for data from that suspended channel. An overlay doesn't automatically listen to a different channel just because you changed things in OBS.

Your overlay will still be tracking the channel it was made for.

That's very true, with everyone being home, and all of the bandwidth being taken up when it's usually not. That makes sense as to why it just started happening in the last week. I did a speed test, and it's showing 3mb/s upload when it should be 10.

Hi, having some issues with updating. I downloaded StreamElements today and it works fine on OBS 24, but I have been using 25 (since I stream Rainbow 6 Siege and need the Vulkan compaitibility, I definitely don't want torevert to 24.) After the prompt comes up on the latest OBS 25.0.1 to update StreamElements, I get an error message saying 'Failed downloading software update package.' After that there is no remnant of streamelements anywhere in OBS and my only option was to go back to the streamelements website and redownload the same update, which opens only in the prveious version of OBS.
It is a very long route back to reattempting the download package since it involves 2 reinstallations to get the prompt. Why is there not just an updated download package that is compatible with OBS 25 on the StreamElements site, and if there is, how do I find it and avoid the 24 one?
UPDATE: Managed to find the right downloader, had to scroll up in this chat a fair bit, was the end of a long and pointless saga. Could StreamElements please update this link so that it points to the updated download package

Please understand that every setup will be very different.
Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.
You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard, and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.
Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterwards, but not a list of settings.

@whole mural Browser sources are not your entire setup and have nothing to do with your settings. They're individual sources you create to reference your overlays in your account. It's essentially a browser tab you've pasted a link into. They're very easy to remake.

It just took me forever to actually go live and start streaming. kept telling me ecoding error while live streaming. Finaggled with some stuff. Now OBS is taking up 60% of my CPU when it usually uses up 11%...Also the bottom left is saying encoding error overload. WTH is going on

Some window captures will affect display captures, so if you fix these settings it will also correct it across the other capture sources as well 🙂

Okay. So I got obslive and everything is ok. But when I stream and keep my obslive in my second monitor, the game from the first monitor lags. This issue doesnt happen with all games
If I minimize obs the game goes perfectly smooth. Some games are ok with obs opened but most of them are dropping fps (20-30fps drops)

For reasons I can't go deeper on this, I will provide a more TL'DR' version:
GPUs don't like having to render video on 2 different refresh rates
either try and update your drivers or sync up both monitors on 60hz
if the 2nd one can't go past 60hz
the reasons i can't go deeper as this is a GPU issue :/

afaik, GPUs don't like rendering different refresh rates of the same video source, as in, 144hz graphics in 60hz at the same time
so it tries to balance it out, by either lagging the 144hz monitor source or stuttering the 60hz one
the basic solution to this is to turn off the live preview window in OBS
i just remembered that was a work around

Leave the elgato at 1920x1080
Your canvas is what you see in obs. Everything inside your obs preview should be 1920x1080
What gets sent to twitch is scaled down to 1280x720
