Does anyone know why my host alerts will not go off when someone hosts my channel. I have it set to 0 viewers so it will show all, but it will not go off. Also everytime I shut down obs live, it resets my chat box back to light mode, and every time I open obs I have to switch my preference to dark mode for chat.

Hey guys, trying to install motion plugin. I did as asked. aka: "Unzip motion-effect.zip and Put it to the obs-studio installation folder". But I right click scene, filter, add filter, and no 'Motion' option comes up as a filter?

so since i have switched to streamelements paired with obs live i have had an overall good stream experience including being able to up my stream quality from 720p30 to 1080p60 and have only dropped 50 frames in about a 10 hour stream, this was pretty constant and 50 dropped frames in that amount of time i wasnt worried about but now today after doing the streamlabs obs live update i dropped over 6000 frames in the same amount of time. anyone have any ideas whats going on? i never changed anything settings wise.

sadly my mixer knowledge is 0 basically, but dropped frames are normally network problems, nothing related to the program, so it's either your connection or server you are connecting to

Hi 👋, I’m not at my pc right now but for the last two days my overlays have not been working. I use stream elements for alerts and chat and a countdown and nothing has been displaying. When I re-play an alert off the activity history, I hear the alert sound but there is no display. I wondered if this has been reported and if it’s just me?

@shy mountain I think I found my issue, had a mistyped url causing thousands of ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED issues a minute. Just looked though the current log (12.1MB) and that is what was happening. It was an overlay to my discord stream chat.

@gaunt basin If you're seeing a 9 second delay on stream, that should be fine. RTMP does incur some latency between your output and what the viewer sees.
Fix your aspect ratio
in your OBS Settings >> Video you want the base canvas to be 1920 x 1080 and the scaled output to be 1280 x 720

always make sure to run it as Administrator. If you right click the desktop shortcut and go into the Properties, you can click on the Compatibility tab which has an option to always run as administrator

I think those settings are under Advanced in the OBS Settings
Also have you done this: If you use Logitech G-HUB to manage your devices, click on your webcam, and navigate to the gear (settings) in the top right. There you can find a checkbox to disable G-HUB from managing the settings and it will no longer override your inputs via OBS.

Hey guys. Anyone able to help with a wierd NDI issue. Trying to set up a multi PC stream using NDI to a Streaming PC. Got OBS and NDI installed on all. Set up the output on the gaming PCs and then trying to add the sources on the stream PC. It will not find the sources on the stream PC. But on the Gaming PCs 1 can see another but nothing else. Its really intermittent on the PC that can see another

@heavy wyvern if you don’t have an option for a stream key then you’re authenticated via OAuth which is more secure. To switch to a different platform you can either disconnect from Twitch and sign in with a different platform, or create a new profile via the Profiles menu and sign into a different streaming platform there

just a heads up, OBS live is currently crashing OBS. Running zero plugins, fine, running ONLY OBS live will crash. Have gone over the logs and it is indeed obs live causing the issue.

Decided to download OBS Live and test it out see if it was of any use and it was brilliant so far, however while meddling with the Media Request window found that if I click the "video off" just as I would click "hide video" on the site, the video doesnt show on stream as intended, but it's not visible for me the streamer on the Media Request window either. If I were to use Media Request on the site it'd still show the video to me so I came here to ask if there's a setting or anything that I'm missing to have the video still show on the media request window in OBS

TLDR; Media Request on the site shows the video even if you hide it, OBS.Live doesnt in the Media Request dock. Is there a setting for it or does it not exist at this point in time?

with the recent update youtube has forced SE to change how youtube controls work and now the control happen in the actual video itself. that change only concern MR in the browser though. you can't control MR with external controls in the browser, it has to be done through youtube's player @keen arrow

Okay, so this is how the "Hide Video" works on the site, you click the button and it gets hidden on the stream, but you can still see the video as seen in the image, however in OBS.Live the button works the same, but you cant see the view in the Media Request dock. The question was if there is a setting for this or if it doesnt exist at this time
and here is an image on the OBS.Live side, the video is hidden on stream like it should be, but I cant view it in the dock like I would be able to on the site

- All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
- Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline
Note: If you see "X channel has hosted you" with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.

@quick sparrow it does not show the OBS.live options? do you have an antivirus enabled? I saw some people getting their antivirus detecting the obs-live plugin as a virus for some reason and if the antivirus deletes it, well.. it will not show up anymore on the SD

if its not there, check what happens in that directory when pressing the Install button in the streamdeck
if you see the file appear and disappear, you will know something is removing it, and the best is to check what other programs are running

the only thing that changed was i posted a message earlier about Windows Security throwing up a Trojan alert for stream elements via elgato stream deck and obs live and i told it to ignore the issue

@vale marsh WHat you do is just ignore that error, sometimes it happens. when it happens , all you have to do is go to the SE site a re-download the installer and reinstall the executable then from there it will download and install the update you need 🙂

Make sure obs is running as administrator. It doesn’t like to capture if you don’t launch it as administrator. You can right-click the desktop icon and select run as admin

Right, I'm having some issues with stream. there seems to be a blur/pixelated when streaming. i'm at 720 60 fps at 5k bit rate with an upload of 15... anyway to improve this? I know another streamer who has worse upload and has better picture

I read your help recommendations, tried them out and none of them worked. I'm streaming through obs live, the overlay comes up but when someone subscribes nothing happens

Not sure if this is the right channel for this, but I've been having issues with Media Request where a different song/video is played than what the viewer requested or it says a song/video is too long even though it's under the max length. Not really sure how to go about resolving that.

So I switched over to use OBS Studio from streamlabs, and I purchased alerts from Nerdordie and installed them, can you resize the alerts?
they are coming up so big that they wont even be in the Browser source box that i add to obs

@rugged quail I also got the same problem here... a workaround is set your buttons to use a Hotkey function, and set the hotkey on SEOBS
I setup my 6 scenes using System > Hotkey from Streamdeck. Then I put the same hotkey to change each scene in SEOBS

Hi, i have a question regarding the overlay/widgets. Currently have all my stuff setup the way that I would like except for one thing which I cannot seem to figure out. I want a chat widget on my intermission/brb scenes. BUT i dont want this on my game scene. Is there a way for me to grab the browser URL of JUST the chatbox widget so I can put that on my intermission/brb and leave it for the game?

@sharp tundra all scenes should be managed on SE website, if you have done it another way there's a way to fix it, for instance copy the chat widget to a new overlay and use that url only on the scenes you want
but the standard is having one scene/overlay for each different situation, so you could delete things where you don't want them

Ive been having issues with insane memory leaks when using OBS.Live but when i turn it of it stops. Here is a log if anybody would be able to help that would be great! Edit Can run OBS without Streamelements plugins without any problem.

2) Start your stream/recording for about 30 seconds. Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc.
3) Stop your stream/recording.
4) Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File. Copy the URL and paste the link here.
(Note: If you do not see an obsproject.com URL, you will need to update OBS Studio to version 22+)

@hasty smelt can you try uploading the image in Google Chrome and let us know if that works? The StreamElements site is optimized for the Chrome browser, and Edge/Firefox sometimes have issues that are not present in Chrome.

Hi i hope this is the right section for this question. I can no longer install the stream elements plugin for elgato stream deck (control media etc) as my virus protection software states that there is a trojan virus within the plug in. I have used the plugin on the stream deck for ages now but in the last few days i have had this issue. The plug in will not install at all. i have tried re installing the stream deck software etc with no luck. any suggestions peeps?
