so I've had this reoccurring issue with my obslive where randomly i guess my connection to the servers just end up turning to crap, dropped frames are high as hell and doesn't go away for a day or two if im lucky. i've troubleshot changing servers, directly connecting my lan avoiding the router. contacted my internet provider and had them reboot on that side. but some how can't get rid of this weird cause of my connection/frames to sky rocket constantly kinda losing my mind at this point

Context: I use Twitch & OBS
Issue: My fonts aren't updating on OBS (I use the Stream Elements OBS addon). If I choose a font on my overlay on the Stream Elements website, it just loads in as "Times New Roman" on my OBS overlay. On top of that, marquees aren't working (scrolling text) anymore.

If some games are doing it but not others, then you need to adjust your game or OBS settings to account for your most graphically intensive game.
But if it's dropped frames due to network, then your game actually has nothing to do with it.

I stream fortnite and minecraft, for example, on higher settings than the game that is recieving dropped frames, world of tanks, which is on minimum settings. However, it immediately drops frames when I go live with the game

Hello! I have a problem with NDI tools on stream elements OBS. I have NDI installed on my Streaming Laptop and My Gaming PC. But when I click on + to add NDI element in my obs (running on my streaming laptop) it just wouldn't show any option to do so.

@cloud dock Its not like "its not my problem" - the issue is most likely on how you've installed the plugin, but since I don't have 2 PCs I can't really troubleshoot this with you and most if not all who provide support here, don't have 2 PC setups as well, so there is barely anyone who can help you on our Discord.
In short, we are not familiar with the NDI plugin, to be able to troubleshoot.

Well I found the solution:
If one is using StreamElements OBS on their streaming PC/Laptop. Then installing NDI tools on both Streaming PC and Gaming PC wouldn't work. There is a separate setup for NDI OBS which one can find on OBS's website. Simply open OBS website, Go to Forums, click on plugins then click on OBS studio plugins and scroll down till you see "obs-ndi - NewTek NDI integration into OBS studio". Click on it and then click download on top right corner. Then from the download page install "obs-ndi-windows-installer". This installer comes with NDI Runtime installer but just ot be safe download NDI Runtime Installer and install it before you download the obs-ndi software. Reboot the PC if it asks you to. Then install the obs-ndi. It will seem like it'll ask you to reinstall obs just click yes to everything and let it install. Reboot if it asks you to. Then launch the stream elements obs live. Under Tools in menu section you should be able to see "NDI Output settings." Click on it and click main capture. And then when you click + you'll be able to see the NDI source option.

Hey ya'll, I'm wondering if there's a way to get Red Dead 2 on PC to show up in StreamElements OBSLive. I have been using StreamLabs OBS but it seems to be very choppy post-encoder and I'm looking to give OBSLive a shot. I run both the game and OBSLive as admin, I have tried game AND window capture, and have switched the game's API from Vulkan to DX12 (which is what was required for the game to show on StreamLabs. I'm at a loss as to how to get this game to not just be a black box.

If you're streaming at 720p or 1080p then your game window is going to scale according to the scaled output and will not appear on stream the same as it does when you're playing

So, Dafont doesnt have an API system built into it, meaning you can't really use their fonts in a situation like this, unless anyone else is aware of how to add a downloaded font to the editor

The way the fonts are added in is via APIs provided by companies like google. Google hosts the fonts on their servers in a way that allows websites like SE to access them and use them easily. DaFont does not do this, sadly.

Hello I am new! I was referred to download streamelements and use to enhance my streaming on Twitch. I need some help at knowing what is needed first in order to begin. I play on PS4 console and will be using a MacBook Air.
I do have an Elgato game capture card I believe.

Well, the first thing to do is determine if your MacBook Air can even run OBS Studio

You should be fine with the external Elgato card as well as they're really good about supporting Macs
IIRC if you have an iphone you can connect it via USB as a webcam on a mac.... I haven't done it in a few years. I know that the elgato app on mac supports it

It doesn’t look like it launches a browser. It just pops open a window in obs with the editor options along the top, and below that is the spinning circle.

if it still happens you might want to reinstall obs to see if theres some corrupt files,

Hello I'm trying to get OBS live to work with Stream Deck, I have installed the OBS live plugin on the stream deck. My issue is the Record, Stream, Source, Scene & Mixer Audio buttons don't work.
It says The Elgato Remote Control plugin is missing. Please reinstall Stream Deck, then try again. I did a repair of the stream deck software but its still not working any ideas how to fix this?

Looks like it just lost connection to Mixer.and i watch my cpu usage go from 8% to like 26% randomly

In OBS -> Settings -> advanced -> scroll down -> turn on hardware accel.

@glossy tapir You can test Alerts via the bell on the lower right corner of the Overlay Editor. Simply go to your Dashboard -> My Overlays -> Pencil/edit button on the overlay. Make sure the "Show Emulated events on stream" option is on to see the alert in OBS/Xsplit https://streamable.com/h6qgy

If you are not seeing the OBS Twitch integrations and have OBS.Live installed, please follow these steps:
- Make sure you are on the latest and greatest version of OBS.Live
- exit OBS (make sure OBS is not running)
- delete %appdata%\obs-studio\plugin_config\obs-browser\obs_profile_cookies
- start OBS.Live
- Settings -> Stream -> disconnect -> connect

hi support. maybe i posted in the wrong section so i try here, i just added this awesome widget event rotator, but i cant seem to move the spacing between them, its like half of it all gets cut out when i try make the box smaller, any1 know how to fix this? thanks

@trail ginkgo The default resolution for StreamElements overlays (theme and custom) is 1920x1080. Please add them in OBS at their full resolution and use CTRL+F to fit to screen if necessary. You can then downscale your stream in OBS settings > Video if you'd like https://i.imgur.com/6bWXxjR.png

the webcaptioner section of that site will explain how to add captions on your stream

Webcaptioner is really good, but make sure to clear your transcripts to make sure you don't run out of RAM
