Nm.. I figured it out. If I do a Window capture of Chrome and I am in OBS, and I have hardware acceleration off. It doesn't click through or allow me to click on anything in Chrome

But if I use Capture Display it will allow me to click on things. Which doesn't help me a lot as I want to just have it do a Window, not my entire display.

Something has to control the custom name for you. Can't do it on our end 'cause that'd look like we're DDOSing Twitch and that's no good.

@gray vector Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

All manual host events (0 hosts included and if filter set to 0)
All hosts coming from an online channel. If the hosting channel has been offline, we do not show it
All auto host events with at least 1 viewer
Note: An offline host is when you see "X channel has just hosted you" - with no viewer numbers on the back

Then that would be something to do with your Streamdeck settings, and not with us. This is support for OBS.Live, the plugin for OBS Studio. So anything about our features, we can help with, but beyond that, you'd be relying on luck to find someone here who happens to be familiar with what you're trying to set up.

Yes, you add anything you want to show as a widget in an overlay in your account on the site, and then add the overlay to OBS as a browser source.

@sonic sparrow You can test Alerts via the bell on the lower right corner of the Overlay Editor. Simply go to your Dashboard -> My Overlays -> Pencil/edit button on the overlay. Make sure the "Show Emulated events on stream" option is on to see the alert in OBS/Xsplit https://streamable.com/h6qgy

You would need to enter your stream key ffirst in the OBS settings. But as soon as you hit live and fill in the stream info you are live and your chat gets connected in OBS.Live.

Guys I have a huge problem during my stream.
After a while (30 minutes/one hour), when i try to change scene or, basically, when i try to do something in obs.live (adjust audio, scroll the chat, etc), the app seems stop working.
Streaming goes on, but the screen becomes grey and everything freeze.
Everytime it happens, i have to force closing obs.live and restart the streaming.

I want a custom bot name, so using groundcontrol, generated my token, switched the name and try testing it, but it only comes up with my stream name. Tried both in the GroundControl app and in the OBS.Live extention. Tried restarting everything, parted and rejoined it etc....

@solar sky which chat are you using? the integrated obs chat (view > docks > chat) or the stream elements chat (streamelements > chat)

@rugged quail if you want to stream your phone then you would need some sort of video capture device to connect it to. i have heard of usb programs but you would need to google that

when importing to obs the resolution should be set to your canvas (default 1920x1080)

So I was already using SLOBS so called 'workaround' prior to this; custom server input, yet this is happening to me now: discord notification and OBS running as if it's live but FB shows nothing and the link from discord doesn't show anything but a blank screen.

@naive acorn You can test Alerts via the bell on the lower right corner of the Overlay Editor. Simply go to your Dashboard -> My Overlays -> Pencil/edit button on the overlay. Make sure the "Show Emulated events on stream" option is on to see the alert in OBS/Xsplit https://streamable.com/h6qgy

Repost:
Guys I have a huge problem during my stream.
After a while (30 minutes/one hour), when i try to change scene or, basically, when i try to do something in obs.live (adjust audio, scroll the chat, etc), the app seems stop working.
Streaming goes on, but the screen becomes grey and everything freeze.
Everytime it happens, i have to force closing obs.live and restart the streaming.

Hello, I'm trying to use soundboards in the chat. switching them over from SL. Am I doing it right by making it an item in the stroe to redeem and then add the sound from there? Are you running OBS.Studio as administrator? Can you also try closing OBS then open it again & try submitting a request to see it would autoplay.

@gilded quail check in the my overlays in the dashboard what has been imported. If nothing has been imported your slobs scenes either contain copyrighted material from SL which we will not import or the scenes measure over 10mb in size(some assets are above 10mb)

Click on your Channel Name at the top of the dashboard and select Settings
Create a new invite at one of three access levels (Bot Supervisor, Editor, Full Control)
Send this invite to a mod/manager to give them access to your dashboard. The link is one-time-use and expires after 72 hours if not accepted

@finite vault I checked your overlays and they're set up correctly and the sound is playing fine. If you can hear them but the stream cannot, then that's an issue of OBS not picking up the same audio device that the alerts are playing back in.

Normally you make the overlay fit to 1920x1080, so make it fit your whole canvas and edit the cam frame position in the overlay editor.

When i launch R6 siege my FPS are normal at 144. As soon as i launch OBS studio with stream elements my friends drop to 60FPS. I checked my invidia settings, display settings for 144Hz all is okay, drivers are updated, same as my computer (updated all today). This issue was happening before all updates. As soon as I close down OBS my frames go back to 144 and butter smooth

R6:S is a heavy game for streaming - you might need a really beefy PC for that
GPUs hate when 2 monitors are on 2 different Hz settings, as its basically a performance hit for the GPU

Updating GPU drivers might help in this case, but it might make it worse

If they've labeled a particular item as compatible with StreamElements then they'll have included instructions for how to do so. If they haven't, then you will need to manually edit the coding to make it compatible.

Hi all. I was here a few days ago asking about an issue where the obs.live StreamDeck plugin would not install. I hit install, the bar loads and the button that should say "uninstall" still says "install" The actions I'd expect to see are naturally not there. @odd kraken was asking internally for me, but IDK if progress was made.

@modern ember I understand. I'm not on the SE dev team, so I can only speak from personal experience. The only time I had an issue getting SE to connect to twitch was when it tried to load the page while my internet was out briefly. After that, only restarting OBS.live fixed it.

@odd kraken and anyone else interested. It seems my OBS.Live SD integration disappeared after Elgato failed to roll out an update correctly. It wouldn't install because it was already installed, but the SD software provided no feedback to indicate the problem on the User end. Manually removing the folder %APPDATA%\Roaming\Elgato\StreamDeck\Plugins\com.streamelements.obslive.sdPlugin and reinstalling did the trick. 😃

Make sure you are on the latest and greatest version of OBS.Live ( 19.6.26.414 )
exit OBS (make sure OBS is not running)
delete %appdata%\obs-studio\plugin_config\obs-browser\obs_profile_cookies
start OBS.Live
Settings -> Stream -> disconnect -> connect

is there issues with loggin in with custom bot in OBS.Live? I've tried multiple times now. after two tries, i logged out of OBS.Live and back in with my stream account and then tried again, still seems like it is logging in, but the list is empty after and it still says "Set custom bot name". I have all 3 green checkmarks. so i thought it had to be the OBS.Live install. So i uninstalled it, downloaded a fresh copy and installed... same issue after.

I'd suggest clicking on StreamElements at the top of OBS.Live and using the 'Report an Issue' option, then the OBS.Live devs who have a better idea about this can look at the issue

I was hoping to try to split the audio out for mixing purposes, rather than using the in widget volume slider, but I'm guessing that's not an option at the moment? if you mean for overlays then its not possible for youtube.
if you want for obs dock then you can try logging into obs with your yt account settings > stream,
however im not sure if thats supported yet

Hello everyone, I’m using OBS NDI and I’m experiencing lag/Frame drop on my streaming computer. , This has only started when I began using SE overlays, but only when I’m in-game (I play fortnite mostly). OBS on both computers show I’m running at 60FPS and well over 5000kbps but the stream looks awful. Any ideas? I have a MASSIVE PROBLEM when it comes to streaming, I use streamelements because it's not so taxing on the cup. I have used to use 2 settings on OBS whether it's high setting 6000kbs 60 fps downscale to 720 or 2500kbs 30 fps downscale to 720. I always seem to drop frames drastically which means I can't stream for longer than 30 mins to an hour.

My internet is 75 download and 20 upload so I know it can't be that.
My BIOS is 2017 so really doesn't need updating as yet.

I have a ryzen 7 1700 O/C to 3.7 mhz with a 1060 6gb, whether I use the cpu or the gpu to decode/stream whatever it still comes down to the fact I drop frames.

I really don't know what to do, I feel like just giving it all up. Please HELP!!

i would also say turn your bitrate down to 6k
twitch's max is 6 and they can clamp down on anyone that goes over it.

turn off browser accel in obs settings

try using the NVENC (new) encoder, turn off look-ahead and pysco-visual tuning in encoder settings

if you can get a clean log from tomorrow that would be great

I am using OBS.live and made a overlay. I got it all set up, but when I hit ok, it was just a black screen with an overlay. It was meant to be an overlay while playing games, but nothing shows. I have been troubleshooting for the past 2hours and tried just about everything and watched about every video out there. From checking the files to running obs as administrator, nothing seems to work. I is probably something really simple and I am just being a dumbass, but if you could help me out I would be so grateful.

A browser source puts a browser page on your scene. Nothing else. So, you need a source that captures your display. Like a display capture. Or a source that captures your game. Like a game capture. Or a source that captures a window. Like a window capture.

you have an AV codec installed (c:\program files (x86)\obs-studio\bin\64bit\avcodec-57.dll) that is causing the crash
try uninstalling the plugin

That .dll is part of the FFmpeg codec library, and is included with the OBS install. It would be best to ask in the OBS discord about this crash

everything seems fine from what you told me to do earlier, the only problem i really had was that when on 6000kbps and tried watching the stream on my phone it began to buffer but when knocked it down it was ok

I am trying to set up a Custom Bot Name in OBS Live:
I have the Second Account, I log in, Authorize the Account, ... then the white "Custom bot login" (White box) appears and hangs.

hmm maybe i didnt explain my problem understandably, i use obs with streamelents integrated. There you have the chatwindow activity feerd and also mediarequest. I poped out the window and closed it. now it isnt anymore on my obs

yeah, i wanted to set up a custom bot name... created a new twitch account with a new name got the oath token set it up like i red in on reddit... when i now put in a !sr i get the message from the new account: ..., songrequest is now playing. But it doesnt get picked up in the queue

Okay, So. I got the WhiteBox to close.... Everything looks fine, The Extension is added to the Bot Account... only it doesn't show in the list.
So Now What?

The Bot account is a Sub, Following, I'm running OBS as an Admin.... I'm kind of at a loss.

Create another copy. Change the color or brightness or something. Then add it to your alert. Set your alert on obs above your overlay. So when you get a alert, it will just change according to the new one you made while the alert is triggered. Then go back to normal

But it's easy. Like your cam overlay for example. The dark boarder. Make it animated a color or something. When u finish that file. Go to alerts. And add it on there. If you position it exactly where your current cam overlay is, when u get a alert. It will animate when u get a alert
