its best to try and eliminate the errors above (links are provided to help). there might be some in game settings like vsync you could look at to try and decrease the load on your encoder

A slower x264 preset than 'veryfast' is in use. It is recommended to leave this value on veryfast, as there are significant diminishing returns to setting it lower. It can also result in very poor gaming performance on the system if you're not using a 2 PC setup.

Restart OBS.
Start your stream/recording for about 30 seconds. Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc.
Stop your stream/recording.
Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File. Send that link please.

Has the panel for updating your stream information been removed with the latest update? I no longer have it nor is it in the StreamElements drop down in OBS Studio. It’s not in the Dock selection either.

Speaking of OBS guys, I have a quick question . Wondering if anyone else has ever had the problem. While i'm streaming, if I switch games or have something pop up on my main gaming monitor while im mid stream, My OBS screen capture just goes black. I've got a 3 monitor set up and when I go into the screen capture settings and switch monitors they all have a picture but my main. I have to shut OBS down and restart it to get my picture back. Any thoughts?

I am making the switch from SLOBS to StreamElements. All of my overlays are setup and working in OBS.Live. My alerts, however, re not seen in OBS.Live. In fact, I loaded some of the Super Themes (Apex), and the alerts do not show in OBS.Live. What am I missing?

The only other thing besides the bitrate and the Gaming features is this:
Having the YUV Color range set to "Full" will cause playback issues in certain browsers and on various video platforms. Shadows, highlights and color will look off. In OBS, go to "Settings -> Advanced" and set "YUV Color Range" back to "Partial".

In every broser source in the settings when you right click the source > properties there is a checkbox at the buttom which states something like "shutdown when not visible". Check that.

just as an update - i posted a while ago about having the new nvenc encoder overload using dual pc ndi. I got it working at 1080/60, 1440/60 still overloads very infrequently when it's a really busy scene (5-12 frames over a 3 min benchmark).
On the remote w10 pc with the turing card, nvidia control panel, change power options to max performance.
To find it, i had afterburner opened up and ran the benchmark looking at clock speeds, when it overloaded, it spiked the clocks back to base clock (~1550) from the powersave 130-850mhz, i assume that it wasn't a fast enough response, but having a constant clock worked

I setup all my alerts as an overlay in the overlay manager and placed the overlay in OBS Live as a browser source. When I emulated events yesterday it worked. Today on stream, I had alert audio but no visual alerts. Seemed really weird because on the overlay manager it still shows all of the images. Any help?

So for testing alerts, we have a new feature that allows testing on the overlay editor only or on both. Its a toggle located next to the bell icon.

For some reason i can figure out why my Alerts are no longer going through to OBS. They work in the Overlay editor. I have refreshed the Cache in OBS the rest of the Overlays appear fine just the alerts are not going through. igaSad

The prefill is based on "things that have happened since the last time this particular browser source saw the cup", so if the browser source is removed or deleted, this gets lost. We have a plan to change it.

As in, it's more to make it so that it shows what it had last time, but it's not a great recreation. We have a lot better tools now for storing widget states, and we have a plan to upgrade the cup to use those.

Guys my stream is still lagging and I'm not sure what to do anymore. I've tried lowering my resolution, lowering my bitrate, changing encoders and the list goes on. I shouldn't be having these issues with an i9 9900k and an RTX 2070.

Somewhere a browser source is activated and playing the sund or the browser with the overlay is open and playing it.
Either set shutdown source when not visible to all your browser sources with a streamelemetns overlay or/and close or mute the browser.

Make sure to ☑ “Shutdown source when not visible” for all browser sources (all OBS scenes). Like I said above, the alerts sounds and media request use the same output audio channel from OBS - the default desktop audio (monitor/speaker/headphones) - the one set in the volume settings of Windows.

If you don't hear the MR with the alerts, then you have done something that needs to be reverted and since I don't know what your actual setup is or why "desktop audio" channel should not be used

Our mobile app uses a specific overlay that it grabs on its own automatically.

But Media request is not working properly for the app at the moment - its not properly syncs with audio and video of MR so I think its been disabled by default.

Add an item that has these settings on it:

Stream Perk
Loyalty settings to your desire
(Next step) Add contents (image and/or sound you want to play)
"Redeeming this item shows an alert
Redemable via chat
Skip Requirements

Get the item name/command from the 2nd creation page
Go to commands page here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/bot/commands/custom
Add command with desired name and have response for command as: ${redeem item_name_here}
Go to your overlays and edit the overlay you use.
Click on "widgets" and add "Store redemptions" widget. Click save and you should be golden.
Test your own command in chat and have OBS or editor open to hear sound

Restart OBS.
Start your stream/recording for about 30 seconds. Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc.
Stop your stream/recording.
Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File. Send that link via this troubleshooting tool or whichever support chat you are using.

Since Apex Legends doesn't have optimized GPU drivers yet, it tends to take up all your GPU resources, leaving nothing for OBS. If you're having OBS performance issues, you'll likely need to limit the game somehow. The easiest way to do this is to enable Vsync in the game, or use a frame limiter. i would suggest changing your encoder to NVENC (new)
then turn off PVT and look-ahead
please remember to change your bitrate back to 3500

@rugged quail there should be setting on the elgato in its settings menu, or try adjusting the settings in obs. apart from that i dont really know. maybe ask in the obs discord?

They are 2 options in the encoder settings for the new encoder. It's best to disable these in case they cause issues

Not that I'm aware of. It's still considered a part of the OBS client so won't behave like a regular Windows window.

I noticed with Ground Control that the pause and resume alert hotkeys are no longer available. Not sure how long this has been the case, but I haven't used it in a while. I tried out OBS.Live and there's even fewer options there. Anyone know if there are plans to add that functionality into OBS.Live?

@crude pecan If you have issues with OBS logging you out of the integration all the time, follow these steps:

Make sure you are on the latest and greatest version of OBS.Live ( 19.3.24.375)
exit OBS (make sure OBS is not running)
delete %appdata%\obs-studio\plugin_config\obs-browser\obs_profile_cookies
start OBS.Live
Settings -> Stream -> disconnect -> connect

To be honest i think you can make a custom ui profile for obs to highlight the button when streaming. No idea how but @steel mural built his own themed obs studio akin for twitch youtube and mixer.

Alright so i've got my alert box set up and my custom alert loaded and all done on streamelements side of things, it works fine in browser when i do the test but the overlay link is not working as a tab on its own, and it doesnt work on OBS Live.

it's not officially supported so if something goes wrong you will have to get help from Streamlabs, I think there may be some known conflicts but IDK what they are anneThinking

ultimately it seems to create confusion for people on what's managed where between StreamElements and Streamlabs so I tend to recommend you pick one boat and sail with it 😉 StreamElements with OBS.Live works super well for me and that's my recommended setup

Hi, The hype cup is still showing up empty despite activity, my most recent activity an hour ago of a subscription doesn't even show after i restarted the stream pc and obs and the stream. The hype cup has been like this for weeks nearly a month now and this is not acceptable. Is there a fix for this at the near horizon?

I recommend saving/exporting all your profiles and scene collections and reinstall OBS Studio completely.

trying to make a little upgrade to the overlay by adding custom images for sub/resubs to drop into the hypecup, but when i was testing it after uploading the new images, it either kept using the default or nothing at all. any thoughts?

Using a dual pc set up. I've been told it's a problem with the HDMI chord, so I switched it out but I still see it every once in a while.

Hey everyone, I've recently transitioned my settings from Mac to Windows and while things look ok for the most part, my camera is having problems. I'm using a Logitech C920S camera which is 1080p but my "default" settings are stuck at 1600x896, thus cutting out a huge portion of what should be captured in video capture.

I'm getting a "block" portion sized of video capture instead of the "rectangle."

And when I try to manually change resolution to 1080p, the capture just freezes.

Furthermore, when I try to use the same camera input for another scene, OBS.live won't allow me for some reason.

Hello, I am having an issue with my alert box widget, when I play the notification on my web browser it works fine and I can hear the notification sound playing in OBS.Live, but there is no visual appearing in OBS

StreamElements bot modded and in chat
Active overlay with alerts
StreamElements tipping page in the panels below the stream (!panels)
Create a twitch account for the name you want to use
Ground Control app must be running

Steps to enable custom name

Sign in to https://twitch.tv with the bot account
Install and run Ground Control (!gc for download)
Visit https://twitchapps.com/tmi/ and generate an oAUTH token
Copy/paste everything in the box to Ground Control oAuth settings and enter the name for the bot account
Restart Ground Control (custom name may take a few minutes to take effect)

Mac does not currently support renaming the bot.

You have to fulfill all the prerequisites before you get the option to rename the bot

Heyo Streamelements team! Loving the OBS live stuff. After the last update, I cant seem to find the stream info dock? I loved using that to update the game I was playing and stream title inside OBS... is it still around or am I just a blind person ??

@rugged quail If you have issues with OBS logging you out of the integration all the time, follow these steps:

Make sure you are on the latest and greatest version of OBS.Live ( 19.3.24.375)
exit OBS (make sure OBS is not running)
delete %appdata%\obs-studio\plugin_config\obs-browser\obs_profile_cookies
start OBS.Live
Settings -> Stream -> disconnect -> connect

Start -> Run -> %AppData%
Should open an explorer window to your application data. There you will find a subfolder called OBS. Just copy that sub-folder to the same %AppData% folder on the 2nd PC, done.

@bronze island Make sure to ☑ “Shutdown source when not visible” for all browser sources (all OBS scenes).
