but for some reason when i was using slobs i was getting lower CPU usage while streaming which to me dosent make sense cuz its a full on application and it sucks because it has alot of bugs which is why i want to fully move over to StreamElements but the application is the only one taking up cpu usage

OBS.Live is just a plugin to OBS Studio, while SLOBS is a full on fork of OBS Studio.

I have been getting this message every time I shut my computer down.

I have uninstalled obs.live and reinstalled and it still shows up.
I've even uninstalled my streamdeck software and reinstalled that, didn't fix it.

How can I get this from coming up?

It's a problem with the streamdeck. The peeps over there already know about it. It also happens with other plugins from the StreamDeck.

@rugged quail Make sure to :ballot_box_with_check: “Shutdown source when not visible” for all browser sources (all OBS scenes). Good morning/afternoon/evening team.

I am a new user to OBS studio as SLOBS was really acting up and I got sick of it.

So, I've begun using OBS and .Live and I noticed on my Streamlabs dashboard I have my widget URL. It says to use that link and insert it in OBS Studio.

I assume I add a browser source and paste that link correct? It has all my stuff saved in it from SLOBS.

My question is, if I get a follow, will it proc the SLOBS widget or the Streamelements widget?

When I use the overlay editor and do a test notification, I only see the streamelements gif and sound play.

Am I missing something?

Yes, you could do it this way. But note, we can't support tips through our system trigger an alert on StreamLabs. You would have to create an alert box in our system to get these notifications and add it to OBS.

If I use the overlay editor, I cannot find a way to add all my widget data that I've already created.

Nor can I find a way to add a browser source in the overlay editor UNLESS I should just use a browser source in OBS with that widget link from SL and by pass the editor all together.

You can import your alert Box to StreamElements, using the import tool. The other widgets would have to be recreated I think.
In the Overlay editor you get an URL and add this as Browser Source to OBS.
You can try to add the ULR from SL to OBS, but we can't give you any support for this, as we can only support our own overlay system.

I have used the import tool.

When I test a notification inside the editor, it uses the basic gif and sound within the editor, nothing from SL shows up.

Is it possible for it to show SL gif and sound inside the editor or over in OBS studio?

@swift nymph What notification are you testing? Is it the default alert for every event, or just for some?
Normally, when the import went through correctly, you have your alert Box in StreamElements and when emulating an event in the SE Overlay Editor, it should display the imported alerts.
THen you can add this overlay to OBS and when emulating an alert, the alert should be displayed in OBS, too.

I was testing just the simple follow notification.

Let me add and "alert box" to the editor and see if it works. I haven't tested it in that manner yet.

Ok so I'm in editor, use the "widget" tab at the top left, then select "alert box", adjust it's size and click save.

Ok so now it displays 2 alert boxes, but in editor, I only had one. I removed 1 and I don't see on in my layers yet I still get the test notification with the default shark gif

When you imported your alerts from SL, there was created a new overlay with the imported AlertBox from SL. Have you used this Overlay to emulate the alerts?

Yes. Please use the chrome extension to import the alerts from StreamLabs to StreamElements. Please make sure you are logged in to both dasboards at the same time.

I think I know my issue.

On my SE dashboard, inside "my overlays", I have 2 there. My newly imported alert box and an overlay I am using from the themes page.

If I bring up the editor with the new alert box, I don't see my theme overlay.

If I bring the editor with the theme, I don't see the alert box and if I add an alert box to the theme, it adds the default audio and gifs.

Do I need to just scrap the theme I created and start fresh with the alert box loaded into the editor?

You can copy the alert Box from one theme into another. Selectng the Layer and selecting the button with the white papers and the red dot.

hay guys/girls. i have been having stream lag ever since the last update for your service on Sunday i have been working and trying things you have been suggesting with no result. so on Wednesday night i done a restore point to mid last week when everything was fine. so when i started the software it updated obs to the latest level but when it wanted to update obs live i clicked not now. and i done a test stream on Thursday morning for 30 mins or so and it was almost perfect. so last night i updated obs live and i done a few test streams and it was back to lagging like mad. then when i shut the computer down i got this error message on the shutting down screen

@candid dock This is a known thing with OBS.Live. We are working on a fix. You can get these Panels back after the restart by selectung Settings > Stream > Log out of Twitch and log back in.

I contacted streamelements chat support, and they directed me here. basically i am trying to uninstall C:\Program Files (x86)\obs-studio\obs-plugins\64bit\obs-streamelements.dll but im not sure where to do it, as obs is already uninstalled. It is using all of the CPU and we need help as soon as possible

Where did you install OBS? In the same folder XXXX\obs-studio\obs-plugins\64bit\obs-streamelements.dll you can just delete these files in your file system.

it isnt in streamlabs, it is embedded into the task file, cant end it because it ends streamlabs, and its causing CPU to run thru the roof. it doesnt show in the actually application, but it show and shows how much its running in dropdown list of the picture ive previously sent

Heya. OBS Supporter here. I can confirm that SLOBS uses our obs64.exe since SLOBS is build ONTOP of the normal OBS Studio. They change the look of OBS, but the core is still OBS Studio, hence the obs64.exe.

And SLOBS is known for using a heckton of CPU because they use electron instead of Qt. SLOBS is basically a webpage and performs way worse than OBS Studio (with OBS.Live). You have to ask SL.

I dont use SLOBS, because its no where near as good as OBS Studio, and what I get performance wise would in no way be useful to anyone else, given all of the factors to take into account, like system spec, OBS settings, encoder settings, what is being streamed

A clean log file is required to help fix your issue. To make a clean log file, please follow these steps:

Restart OBS
Start your stream/recording for about 30 seconds. Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc.
Stop your stream/recording.

not a whole lot. That CPU is from 2012, and it has never really been good. With no session in the log, we cant see all your settings or what OBS reports as the problem, but even with that, you will never really be able to achieve much quality on that system

@serene bloom do not reinstall OBS it is a known issue with streamdeck uninstall streamdeck and reinstall it again. The reason this is happening is because previously you did not had OBS installed so it wont install the plugins.

hey all, this morning I have been updating OBS Studios together with OBS Live from stream elements. since the update it seems that my panels do not stay logged into twitch. @shy mountain told me that this was a common problem with OBS but I never had this before the last update and now I seem to be needed to logout of OBS entirely and log in again to get the stream elements OBS live's functionalities to work properly again. Is there a solution to avoid this? It is rather really annoying :S

This is a known issue. You can get your stats panel back when you log out and log back in to OBS via Settings > Stream Y disconnect account > connect acount again.

Hey, so I have the latest version of both OBS and Live however the scene collection only supports 2 profiles before it starts to disconnect my camera from the others which then completely stops detecting it. You can log out of OBS.Live at the top in OBS and select StreamElements and log back in. So you don't have to restart OBS.

Uninstalled the plugin due to too many instabilities with the latest hotfix from obs .... .live breaks the association with twitch information and twitch stats i.e. dashboard info. So it's been reported and there's a fix immanent but i feel there should be importance given to this.

tried a full removal of OBS and OBS.Live, did a manual file clear up after uninstall. Installed latest OBS, connected Twitch and i can close/open and it doesn't forget

I fixed my bot custom name issue.

I forgot you need to use the tool to get the auth key for the bot name. I have a dummy twitch account with the name of the bot and had to log into that account and get the auth key.

It's now all good to go.

Twitch prime (new and resub) and paid subscriptions (resub only) must be shared in chat manually by the person subscribing in order for the subscription information to be sent to StreamElements. For twitch prime, the user needs to have sharing enabled on https://www.twitch.tv/settings/prime. I plan to use SL chatbot as I have SFX added there and I haven't been able to figure out how to add them to SE yet.

Second you can do sound effects through commands by store Redemptions.

Just make some store items labeled as SFX

Once you've done that I can show you how to edit the command so its just a single custom word.

You could try to log out and log back in via Settings > Stream > Disconnect Account and reconnect
Then the panel should show up or is selectable via the view > docks.
Add the dock to your OBS setup and lock the dock. Then try a restart of OBS, to see if it stays.

You can also make the command so it isnt "!redeem Itemname1"
but "!Itemname1" but there still will be a confirmation message

ok, you really need to calm down. The alerts are made the way they are to easily add the overlay to OBS, and have the alerts in a very common place to have alerts. If you dont like this, you are free to change it. If you dont like how the system works, then create an idea post about it for consideration to be changed in the future

There’s two docks, “Stream information” and “Title Change” that keeps disappearing from the OBS Dock section after every session and the only way to re-add them is by logging out of your stream account on OBS and reactivating it. I already reported to Stream elements but was curious if anyone is having that issue as well

Ok so, I was still having the same issue with the bot name not sticking after closing reopening OBS studio, but I got it working (for now at least).. what I did was to sign into the bot account, authorize it etc, and save all those settings.. and then sign out of the bot account in the activity widget, and sign back in AGAIN.. that seemed to make it stick for me, in case anyone else is having similar issues

Whenever I try to set up the custom bot, it lets me log in with the bot account but then loads this...then when I click on the "connect with twitch" button then it acts like it is loading something and then it goes away and does nothing

I found out, "maybe a good idea to make a troubleshoot post for this" that when you use both display capture and game capture in OBS studio that some games will crash when they are both active. It seems that a game like WOW will have trouble to detect which one has priority and therefore will cause incompatibility issues.

You could try to set up the overlays in their system. But we're not able to troubleshoot issues with using our overlays in SLOBS as we don't have the tools to support their software. We recommend using OBS Studio with our extension OBS.Live.

In OBS.Live, I am using Media request and it automatically added to my source (scene) the name of the youtube video currently playing. I accidently deleted that and now I have no idea how to bring it back. It was not in my overlay, it was directly in OBS so I could move it around and resize it. When I click show on stream, it just says this:

Is there a way to have multiple store redemptions set at different areas of the overlay, but not have them all play in those different areas? For example I put two store redemption gif files in an over lay. There are two different images, but when I redeem them each image plays in each box.

@copper sinew Try running OBS.Live as admin. Also click on "Streamelements" on top -> Logout and then login again.

You don't need to go Live in order for the chat to work.

I had update and it fixed the problem of when i shut down my pc i dont get that error report about obs live plugin but since another update happened yesterday that error has come back when i shut down my pc any reason why is still on going ?

I didn't had OBS.Live installed yesterday and when I shutdown my PC I got that exact same error my self.

And this error is something on Elgato's side and they are aware of it.

@oak barn Due to recent changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

All manual host events (0 hosts included and if filter set to 0)
All auto host events with at least 1 viewer

Hello there. So here's the thing. I don't know if I'm going crazy, but I could swear that there used to be a dock, where you could change the stream title/tags/notification message/etc (so basically the twitch dashboard). But for some reason, it's not there anymore for me and the live support couldn't recall there ever being such a thing apart from the one in the activity feed. Can anyone help? I really like the feature.

If you have OBS itself connected with Twitch, it will be under View > Docks.

Yeah, I looked. Even reset my GUI there. Still nothing. The only two docks unchecked are "Statistics" and a second "Chat"

I'm setting up Media Request and so far I've managed to get the widget in place but it has no video showing (which is fine) but the song priority isn't functioning properly. The requested song gets punted to the back of the very long playlist, instead of being shoved up front, cutting the previous song in twain.
Any ideas why I'm not figuring this out? I've been at it for hours now.

@upper schooner You currently have 5 songs in the queue. If someone requests another song, it will of course be put at the back of the list. The only time a request "shoves to the front" is if there are no requests and your backup playlist is playing.

Steps you can try is this 1) Make sure they are on the latest and greatest version ( 19.3.8.351 )
2) exit OBS (make sure OBS is not running)
3) delete %appdata%\obs-studio\plugin_config\obs-browser\obs_profile_cookies
4) start OBS.Live

I am using an overlay from the stream elements website, and at the top there is a scrolling box that displays what song is currently playing. I was wondering if there is some sort of guide to help me get that configured and set up? Thanks

@shrewd roost There's a option to have the new requests, play and cut the current track off. What does that mean then? Event the various videos I watched said that it would add some variety to the current playlist.

If I have Metallica playing and someone requests Nirvana, I thought Metallica would stop mid track and Nirvana would play.

Yes. But you had other requests in. Which means those will continue to play. The backup playlist is the playlist you put into the settings, under the field "backup playlist."

Maybe this is just a difference between Streamelements and OBS. I never saw and still don't see a Backup playlist. I was just putting in the music I wanted to play continuously. I only saw one area to do that.
