Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
Go to https://studio.youtube.com/, click on Settings > Community and add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements as a Moderator.
When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

@willow estuary There are no "best settings".
Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterwards, but not a list of settings.

Merging accounts only allows faster ways to switch between accounts
Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events
Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts

If you understand the limitations of merging and want to proceed, please find the JWT tokens (!jwt) from both accounts you want to merge and you will be directed to DM them to a staff member.

Private: When a users subscriptions are set to private, no other user can see what channels they subscribe to. A user's account does not show in a channel's Subscribers List, even if they are subscribed.
Public: When users subscriptions are set to public, another user can see what channels they subscribe to. User subscriptions are listed on their channel page and their account is listed in the Subscribers List for any channel they subscribe to.

Hello, I am having an issue where my stream crashes whenever my game is on "fullscreen windowed" mode. I do this because my PC performs better FPS wise (don't ask me why, i have no clue). I just discovered my stream is okay when it is on fullscreen mode though. Is there a way to fix this issue so i can play on fullscreen windowed and it not crash after 5 minutes?

If you're not approved by them to use this URL you can't (I assume you're referring specifically to the YT link)

@obtuse oracle the differences in widgets are the events and labels we can set up
I can't give an exact number but some can work for several platforms.
Mostly though, I guess you can duplicate that widget, remove things you know don't exist on the desired platform, and copy it over

Users can choose to make the channels that they subscribe to public or private. By default, all settings are set to private.

Private: When a users subscriptions are set to private, no other user can see what channels they subscribe to. A user's account does not show in a channel's Subscribers List, even if they are subscribed.
Public: When users subscriptions are set to public, another user can see what channels they subscribe to. User subscriptions are listed on their channel page and their account is listed in the Subscribers List for any channel they subscribe to.

Opera GX and the new Microsoft Edge Chromium might work closest to Chrome as its also Chromium built. Firefox also works, but some things might look a bit different or not work. If the website doesn’t work on chrome, be sure none of your plugins are blocking our website or clear your cookies. You can try if the website works in a incognito tab.

That's disappointing. The whole point of using the dynamic font size was to try to account for the wildly different user name sizes on youtube. Ah well, just have to live with it being aligned to the left.

Opened OBS and started a stream on YouTube and was getting horrible performance... regularly dropping to 0kbs data sent and dropping every single frame. Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
Go to https://studio.youtube.com/, click on Settings > Community and add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements as a Moderator.
When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

Hello! I'd like to ask for some help regarding OBS streaming settings.
I'm working on a project involving streaming on YouTube.
Thing is though, in all the test streams we've had the quality isn't the best (480-144p) and the video keeps buffering.
We thought it might have to do something with the video/stream bitrate, but experimenting with these settings didn't made a massive difference.
Computer specs in image attached.
Internet info:
Download speed: 100 mbps
Upload speed: 35-43 mbps

Programs that are used while streaming:

OBS
VUP
Chrome (YouTube)
Game (we've tried: COD3, Persona 4G, Genshin Impact, Yume Nikki; all with the same result in performance)
These are the things we've tried so far:
1-
bitrate: 2500
audio bitrate: 96
resolution: 720p
2-
bitrate:3500
audio bitrate:96
resolution: 1080p
3-
bitrate: 1500
audio bitrate: 96
resolution: 480p

Any tip or advice on how to modify the settings will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterwards, but not a list of settings.

from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

guys i use SE for labels and alerts, any idea why SE doesnt pick up new member on recent activity? the alerts also didnt pop up on my screen when someone joined member and the labels also dont show his name. I tried to emulate my alerts, the member alerts worked and the label also changed changes when i emulate the alerts from SE website. This is weird why it wont work on actual stream but work on emulate SE website. I randomly log in to streamlabs website, the recent activity showed that new member tho.

YouTube Alerts are integrated via web browser source in vMix using browser version 62 only show up intermittently. Could be some streams where a few are displayed and then for the next several none show. Verified privacy settings for some of the SuperChat donators and they are public. Have logged in ad out of Streamelements several times, rebuilt the alerts and even used defaults, no change.

@sly orbit There are no "best settings".
Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterwards, but not a list of settings.

Hello everyone. I am an IRL live streamer on YouTube. I had been using Streamlabs but I am thinking I am ready to make the switch to StreamElements. I got everything setup and ready to go but when I attempt to go live using the mobile app on my Android (Samsung Note 20 Ultra) comes back with the error message "Error! @sly orbit You want your bitrate while recording pretty high. I use 80,000,000 and make sure my game has the highest AA setting to make sure there are no sharp edges on geometry.

Merging accounts only allows faster ways to switch between accounts
Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events
Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts

If you understand the limitations of merging and want to proceed, please find the JWT tokens (!jwt) from both accounts you want to merge and you will be directed to DM them to a staff member.

Bear in mind they're not "shared" in that you get alerts for both Twitch and YouTube. It's only the duplication of designs between them. All data is separate. Do you understand?

Private: When a users subscriptions are set to private, no other user can see what channels they subscribe to. A user's account does not show in a channel's Subscribers List, even if they are subscribed.
Public: When users subscriptions are set to public, another user can see what channels they subscribe to. User subscriptions are listed on their channel page and their account is listed in the Subscribers List for any channel they subscribe to.

hi everyone! I'm new to Streamelements, and I was wondering how I can connect Restream or Ecamm with Streamelements to use overlays and widget without having to go through OBS to stream on Youtube? Thanks!

And how can I do giveaways or contests on Youtube?
