Private: When a users subscriptions are set to private, no other user can see what channels they subscribe to. A user's account does not show in a channel's Subscribers List, even if they are subscribed.
Public: When users subscriptions are set to public, another user can see what channels they subscribe to. User subscriptions are listed on their channel page and their account is listed in the Subscribers List for any channel they subscribe to.

@median schooner To set up the bot for your YouTube stream, please follow these steps:

Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
Go to https://studio.youtube.com/, click on Settings > Community and add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements as a Moderator.
When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

Super beginner question, I'm trying to get my Alert Box to work. I can emulate in the overlay designer and everything works fine. I can also bring it into OBS or Streamlabs OBS and it also works. What I really want is to open it in a browser window and then bring that into my video mixer and key everything out. I can see images that I added but the alerts don't work.

Hello. My Stream Overlays were working for aa while through the browser link setup. But now they show a blackscreen. I cann access the Overlay Editor directly from OBS, which shows up fine during edit. But after copying URL again, it stays a black screen. Does not refresh. Solutions?

Merging accounts only allows faster ways to switch between accounts
Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events
Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts

If you understand the limitations of merging and want to proceed, please find the JWT tokens (!jwt) from both accounts you want to merge and you will be directed to DM them to a staff member.

Anyone know why my supporter is receiving a "payment canceled" error when trying to donate through my tip page? He has donated numerous times before, his bank is fine and has not blocked anything. It showed on his side that the money was taken for a bit but returned to his account like streamelements declined it. His donations before had names. His last donation was anonymous because he did not type his name in and after that, when he tried donating again he still kept the name blank, entered his card details, tried to donate and it said "payment canceled". Is this because he did not type his name in and I had chargeback protection turned on?

@lament flare Users can choose to make the channels that they subscribe to public or private. By default, all settings are set to private.

Private: When a users subscriptions are set to private, no other user can see what channels they subscribe to. A user's account does not show in a channel's Subscribers List, even if they are subscribed.
Public: When users subscriptions are set to public, another user can see what channels they subscribe to. User subscriptions are listed on their channel page and their account is listed in the Subscribers List for any channel they subscribe to.

@mellow nova There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

I do not restream my self to tell you how to actually restream with OBS Studio.

3) Have the streamer go live and wait for chat to populate
4) Open your browser and type in "localhost:40404"
5) Click YouTube Chat

7) Have streamer sign in (top right)
8) Select Dark theme option change to ON
9) Stop Stream
10) Restart OBS
11) Have the streamer go live and wait for chat to populate

Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
Go to https://studio.youtube.com/, click on Settings > Community and add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements as a Moderator.
When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

@idle saffron I think it’s more to find out why it isn’t working as a preview on OBS. When you press emulate it shows on stream elements page but it doesn’t show in obs. Just want to know how to see the preview on obs as well as stream elements? That’s what isn’t working.

I've used SE for awhile now and everything is set up and connected. Every time I stream the Merch Store pops up fine in the chat, but for some reason the Tip link does not. I always have to manually post that link. Am I missing something? I always get the SE Bot is now active and the Merch link also posts. The Tip link never posts, I have to manually comment / share that link during every stream.

@vernal girder Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

@vernal girder if you have a friend with a live success case using the same equipment as yours and also managed to incorporate StreamElements' systems, ask him how he did it. We don't know the way your friend did it. Anyway, I believe that on YouTube you can have videos that can clarify your ideas on how to make it work.

You cannot stream from PS4 directly with overlays. You will need something in the middle that combines video from PS4 and overlays from web source.

Create a new invite at one of three access levels (Bot Supervisor, Editor, Full Control)

@vernal girder Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

I've used SE for awhile now and everything is set up and connected. Every time I stream the Merch Store pops up fine in the chat, but for some reason the Tip link does not. I always have to manually post that link. Am I missing something? I always get the SE Bot is now active and the Merch link also posts. The Tip link never posts, I have to manually comment / share that link during every stream.

@fiery swift Just now, randomly, one subscriber from today did appear in the dashboard (and he also appears in the subs overlay)... But the five from previous weeks are still missing from the dashboard. What could be the reason? Do I constantly have to have SE webpage open in order for the subs to be registered?

@fiery swift Users can choose to make the channels that they subscribe to public or private. By default, all settings are set to private.

Private: When a users subscriptions are set to private, no other user can see what channels they subscribe to. A user's account does not show in a channel's Subscribers List, even if they are subscribed.
Public: When users subscriptions are set to public, another user can see what channels they subscribe to. User subscriptions are listed on their channel page and their account is listed in the Subscribers List for any channel they subscribe to.

Speed tests mean very little with regards to streaming and your choice of bitrate. They measure your raw upload speed to a server that's near you (likely run by your local ISP), instead of your stable upload speed to a streaming server. Your stable speed will determine the bitrate you can comfortably stream at.

The stable speed can be estimated as roughly 70-85% of the speed test result in a lot of cases, however this is by no means a perfect estimate. In reality, it may end up being much worse if there's problems between your ISP and the streaming service.

Hello hello, I have recently started a youtube channel and I wanted to upload the overlays I did for my Twitch channel.
I logged in to SE with the youtube option on the landing page.
I figured that my overlays was not there. What I had to do is to "add channel" in the account options from my twitch account in SE.
So, when I try to do that it says that my Youtube channel has already been claimed. Do you know how I can make it work so I have all in one place?

@ocean herald To set up the bot for your YouTube stream, please follow these steps:

Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
Go to https://studio.youtube.com/, click on Settings > Community and add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements as a Moderator.
When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

I bought an overlay from website own3d and I use regular OBS with streamelements. I guess these overlays are designed more for Streamlabs? I don't know how to import the overlays into streamelements so that I can add/edit alerts. The overlay seems to require I use Streamlabs to track donations/alerts? If this is something you can give me any info on, I would appreciate it.

Yeah the import button doesn't import overlays it only imports bots and certain functions from Streamlabs like alerts. I guess I either have to switch to SLOBS to get full functionality of this overlay or it's $65 gone in the wind savage

@cyan sapphire Users can choose to make the channels that they subscribe to public or private. By default, all settings are set to private.

Private: When a users subscriptions are set to private, no other user can see what channels they subscribe to. A user's account does not show in a channel's Subscribers List, even if they are subscribed.
Public: When users subscriptions are set to public, another user can see what channels they subscribe to. User subscriptions are listed on their channel page and their account is listed in the Subscribers List for any channel they subscribe to.

Ok, so there is a big difference between SLOBS and OBS.Live and the overlay chat widget.

i don't know how SLOBS loads the live chat, but in OBS.Live, when a stream starts, its like we popout the chat from the stream page and open it that way in OBS.Live

now the overlay chat widget would relay on us getting each individual line from an API point and then showing it on the chat widget

#

unfortunately, that API either does not exist or its super restricted

#

that is why we also don't have a loyalty system for Youtube, because we don't have access to the chat it self as its own entity

#

meaning there is no API or no access to that API
