@versed tangle There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security
WARNING: In submitting a closure request you will delete both linked accounts and loose all data from both accounts. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data(tips, subs, etc). You can still relogin with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

Yes first I create my account with name samlantv than I linked my twitch account after that a second youtube account. I thought I can delete it after that. But if I used my main yt account name "samlantv" and use the JWT token nothing happen. If I use other username it says invalid username. But if I use the right name "samlantv" it doesn't say invalid username but nothing happen 😂

I love OBS! and am very thankful! And have been livestreaming to FB, which is what I had initially set it up for. But now I'd like to change to Youtube. Under "settings" I went to "Stream" and changed it to Youtube with my YT Stream key. However, when I clicked "Start Streaming", it still showed "Go live with Facebook streamer.....".

Please help! 😫 😋

I was wondering if I could possibly get some assistance

Doesn't matter what overlay I am using. When I get a new Subscriber on YouTube my Alert doesn't go off. If refresh the browser source in OBS. My Latest Subscriber widget updates and shows me the new Subscriber but I still never receive any notification alert/animation. I'm not sure whats going on but I need help. I've done everything I can think of to fix/research the issue.

I wanted to add that when I simulate a subscriber alert in the overlay editor it does emulate it properly and I do receive the emulated subscriber alert on OBS

NEVERMIND - I think I found what the problem was. The test YouTube account I was using to sub to my channel had the "keep my subscriptions private" setting turned on

@clear rover That's the problem. My account connects just fine with my YouTube and pulls my username as it should (almost). It says Thelappie on the top left dropdown, and it says under "Owner", YouTube/Thelappie, but in the channel overview it says Thelaptopgamer, and tipping link as well says Thelaptopgamer. So in my case, When I log in as Thelappe, my Streamelements account says Thelappie. But when I go to my channel and/or tipping page the url says url/thelaptopgame/.
I've tried logging in and out, from web and OBS. I've tried to reset my token. I can't delete the account to start over since it doesn't recognize an email when I link the acount (email is empty). And I've been through every single setting on YouTube and Google account settings. Somehow Streamelements pulls the username from some deep forgotten dark place of YouTube since I've changed my username years ago and are in no way affiliated with that username anymore.

Youtube doesn't provide us an even that you've renamed your channel.

Usually these 2 are separate - username and channel name.

That being said, we an change the alias on the tipping link to be another name, so send us your old and new name + account ID to support@streamelements.com

@sage plover To set up the bot for your YouTube stream, please follow these steps:

Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
Add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements as a Comment Moderator at https://www.youtube.com/comment_management
When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

Hello, the stream element chat bot is not longer working, please help me/us
we got a scammer and stupidly posted a link in our chat to his channel
I think he has something to do with it
We muted the chatbot, then opened it again
we deleted the ModRole and gave it back
we have restarted the stream

We decided to not include loyalty into YT as they have issues with their API when it comes to acquiring list of active users, so points could be dispatched with problems. We prefer to have a reliable function or wait with it until we can serve it without problems.

Merging accounts only allows faster ways to switch between accounts
Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events
Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts
If you understand the limitations of merging and want to proceed, please find the JWT tokens (!jwt) from both accounts you want to merge and you will be directed to DM them to a staff member.

I am a streamlabs OBS user streaming exclusively to Youtube. I used to stream Twitch. @old tusk Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

Whenever I stream to YouTube - my chat window in OBS Live is 1) my secondary YouTube account and not my main streaming account and 2) it's in Light Mode.

Is it possible to change it to my main account and also turn on dark mode? lol - I've been switching to the main YouTube Dashboard to read / (sometimes) type in chat and it's a minor thing but would be nice to have it all in OBS Live.

Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
Add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements as a Comment Moderator at https://www.youtube.com/comment_management
When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

Merging accounts only allows faster ways to switch between accounts
Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events
Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts
If you understand the limitations of merging and want to proceed, please find the JWT tokens (!jwt) from both accounts you want to merge and you will be directed to DM them to a staff member.

Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events
Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts
If you understand the limitations of merging and want to proceed, please find the JWT tokens (!jwt) from both accounts you want to merge and you will be directed to DM them to a staff member.

Are you sure you are using the correct login data? I can easily log in using my YouTube account.

Edit:
Btw I assume that you try to log in with a browser on a computer.

If you are trying to do this with your mobile phone the troubleshooting looks different.

Well, the easy way to do that would be in your YouTube account itself, but if you go to Activity Feed > Widget Data > Totals, you should be able to see it there too.

Only people who were already subscribed would get the alert again, and only once. The system keeps track of who has done it and won't let them spam you.

@versed tangle Users can choose to make the channels that they subscribe to public or private. By default, all settings are set to private.

Private: When a users subscriptions are set to private, no other user can see what channels they subscribe to. A user's account does not show in a channel's Subscribers List, even if they are subscribed.
Public: When users subscriptions are set to public, another user can see what channels they subscribe to. User subscriptions are listed on their channel page, and their account is listed in the Subscribers List for any channel they subscribe to.

i just installed the Nerd or Die Overdrive YouTube Widgets Overlay Quick Install, but the YouTube Chat wont appear on stream. Its added as a browser source, but no matter what i do, the chat isnt there. The Goal Widget and the Eventlist widget both work, but the chat wont. Is this a Nerd or Die issue, or is there a setting in StreamElements that i'm missing?

@carmine ocean Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have Overlays over your console gameplay.

There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security
WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security
WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

When you log in to Ground Control, you are logging in with a third-party login via StreamElements.com. The system will check which account you are currently connected to. If you have merged both accounts, you should switch to the account you want to use to log in to Ground Control.

Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
Add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements as a Comment Moderator at https://www.youtube.com/comment_management
When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

@velvet tusk Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have Overlays over your console gameplay.

I don't see it as a widget option and I even tried a chat overlay from Nerd or Die - nothing will display it in the scene (yes, I tried it live with an active chat LOL) - What am I missing? Or is this not possible on YouTube?

Account Merging - Please note:

Merging accounts only allows faster ways to switch between accounts
Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events
Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts
If you understand the limitations of merging and want to proceed, please find the JWT tokens (!jwt) from both accounts you want to merge and you will be directed to DM them to a staff member.

1 I am using the recent subs stream labs. It scrolls the list of names. I can find a way to turn that off.
2 the only way I can see my chat is if I watch YouTube. Might need a plug in?

Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
Add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements as a Comment Moderator at https://www.youtube.com/comment_management
When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

@versed tangle The default resolution for StreamElements overlays (theme and custom) is 1920x1080. Please add them in OBS at their full resolution and use CTRL+F to fit to screen if necessary. You can then downscale your stream in OBS settings > Video if you'd like https://i.imgur.com/6bWXxjR.png

@versed tangle Click on "settings" -> video -> Canvas needs to be set to 1920x1080 - if your monitor's resolution is lower then 1920x1080 then you need to edit the overlay to match the resolution of your monitor and then adjust the browser source in OBS to match that resolution

I am using the stream label tool in stream elements. It is part of my overlay. Also I would prefer not to have chat on my stream. With SLOBS it would open my YouTube chat in a separate browser window.
