New one 😮 I've been streaming ark with my steam acc linked to obs, and thought I would switch it up with a new game absolute drift, which is a freebie from epic games. Obs wont auto recognize the game though 😦

Hey there! So I'm asking for help for my friend. She's trying to get alerts on stream elements to work for the first time. However, when we tested her follow alert, it only shows half of the image. @rain jacinth If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

@wispy jay If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

@hasty token The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

Hi all!
Question about follower goal overlay: I set it up and it works as it increased last day by 2. However, it shows an incorrect number and I believe it's because in the activity feed of SE there are the first 2 follower that I got, which happened before I started using SE. Is there something I can do to "Sync" the follower gola to my actual follower count?

from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

@barren kraken If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

So depending on the level of the commands, they may or may not be able to make some changes. Does it tell them they can't use that command?

You can try switching it, but if moderator is the set minimum level a super moderator should be able to use it. If it tells them they can't use that command, then it may be permissions. If it doesn't respond, then it may be the bot/command.

@cold sage Due to a recent change from Twitch API, these features are affected by the change:

Ground Control does not have Custom Bot name
Subscriber count will count the Channel and any other permanent sub you may have (+1 or +2 or +3 on top).

We are working on fixing both issues, but there is no ETA. OBS.Live still has Custom Bot name working fine in it.

@hollow matrix The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

Howdy, I regularly have an issue where my bot is not in channel. It will work one stream and then not be working the next. I usually have it part and join but that doesnt seem to work most times. Sometimes it just starts working again for no apparent reason. Just want to figure out whats happening. i dont think I am changing anything between streams. this has happened for the last month or so. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Note I have a custom bot name.

Hi, I need some assistance with twitch streaming.

When I try and stream to twitch, I change what streaming service I want to use to twitch, and my account is linked. However when I press start streaming, it goes to stream on YouTube, which I do do sometimes, but I’ve swapped everything over to twitch, and I know I have because I’ve linked my accounts and a mini tab of stream information and stream chat appear, anyway I can fix this? Would be appreciated.

About the points and sub privileges - you need to check with the streamer. Those settings depend on the channel owner, we can't really do much in that case.

You still need to check with him. We have 0 control over prime sub functionality on Twitch and only the channel owner (or editors) have control over the Loyalty/Points settings for that channel.

Hey there, had a question about creating a custom bot command. Not sure if this belongs here but I figured I'd ask. Apologies if this isn't the correct place.

I would want two different chat commands. One for the viewers and one for me (the broadcaster). The viewer command would put the user into a "bucket" (for lack of a better word) and the broadcaster command would pick one random user from that bucket (I would need to pick multiple names from said bucket)

How would I set this up? I have zero knowledge on programming.

For the basic functionality - you have multiple user levels that can use a command. When you create/edit the command, you can set that to "Broadcaster" level - that would be only the channel ower. "Everyone" is the level for the command you want to be public.

On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

@grave crane The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

Streamelements says, that the user "Smash_I" doesn't have enough points to use the command.
I checked multiple times that he has enough points. In addition to that I checked the sound-command, that there isn't any restriction that could interrupt it.

In the attachment you will see the screenshots.

Merging accounts only allows faster ways to switch between accounts
Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events
Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts

If you understand the limitations of merging and want to proceed, please find the JWT tokens (!jwt) from both accounts you want to merge and you will be directed to DM them to a staff member

Thanks. I don't have alerts set up. I have my mic, the elgato, the desktop audio and my logitech pro cam.

@worthy bluff Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

It can be a personal. That’s what mine is. BUT there’s a fee taken for small transactions. So for example if someone donates $1, $0.10 (dont quote me on that amount) can be taken out which will add up, but I think a business account prevents some of those fees to occur.

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Howdy. I was wondering if I can get a tip, because I'm not sure what is going on. I have a FB alerts and when there's an event the alert lags on the stream but my game keeps streaming at 60fps with no impact whatsoever. Just wondering why only the alert lags. (my pc AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core - Motherboard ASUS AMD X470 SK AM4 - 32Gb 3200MHz DDR4 - ROG-STRIX-RX580-O8G) Using radeon relive to stream. Monitor 1080p with freesync (output stream 720P/60fps). Also never had problem with twitch alerts, same settings, same game (RDR2). Not sure if it's from my side.

from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

I'm going off the 6 Different Sub Badge Colours I have from my Subscribers and so It's Purple for 1 Month at Default. Then Orange for 2. Blue for 3. Green for 6. Red for 9. Yellow for 12 Months. So I'm mainly wanted to be sure I'm setting the variants correctly for say between 3-6 and the 4/5 are the same if it was a 3 Month icon and then following the resub for 6 months then its the new colour until 9 months etc..

The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

Hellooo was just curious about using the Streamelements Kappagen system onto Streamlabs I've followed a very simple video to putting it together however it doesn't seem to work if anyone has any ideas on how to fix this that would be great!

@forest idol We're not able to troubleshoot issues with using our overlays in StreamLabs OBS (SLOBS) as we don't have the tools to support their software. We recommend using OBS Studio or OBS Studio with our plugin OBS.Live.

To reset goals:

from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

@desert sentinel The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

@humble acorn The default resolution for StreamElements overlays (theme and custom) is 1920x1080. Please add them in OBS at their full resolution and use CTRL+F to fit to screen if necessary. You can then downscale your stream in OBS settings > Video if you'd like https://i.imgur.com/6bWXxjR.png
