When I signed into StreamElements the first time, I used my Facebook account. I also stream on Twitch, but do the majority of my streaming there. I added my Twitch account as well so I can use SE for both. The issue I have is since I use Twitch for my main streaming, but since it is my "secondary" account on SE, all my URL's for tipping are my username and a random number. But for my FB stuff, the main tipping/merch pages use my username. Is there any way I can fix this? Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone! I have a bit of a strange issue. For some reason, my StreamElements isn't picking up new subscribers? I had someone subscribe today and also last on Friday and today I could confirm that the person definitely did sub because the subscriber thing appeared in their name AND the money you get for a sub appeared in the payout section on Twitch itself. Upon checking the activity feed on the Streamelements dashboard, their name and sub doesn't appear at all (the issue was first noticed when the notification didn't pop up despite all follower notifications working fine)... Anyone know what's happened? I haven't changed any settings as far as I'm aware.
I did a test sub live on stream and that worked fine and googling didn't seem to provide answers either ):

Then try to emulate the Alerts in the Overlay Editor and see if it shows the content... (use another tab in the same internet browser to open the overlay).
And make sure the Preview option is enabled on the emulator system.

@gusty verge if you are using the bot with the default name StreamElements, then the emote in the message must be from the Twitch public list, that is, you must use the emotes from the Twitch global emote list or some emote from the emote listing on the StreamElements profile on Twitch.

But, if you are using the bot with a custom name (streamer name) or another name and this bot name is subscribed to your stream, then the bot can also use your stream emotes, if you have one emote added. Remembering that, the streamer is considered a subscriber of his/her own stream, not needing to subscribe to have access to his/her emotes.

Then, you just need to add the text name referring to the desired emote to the Timer message (example: LUL, Kappa, ...).

@tribal cargo Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

I have a bit of an issue/question with the ${redeem ...} variable... so I have a death counter, and with that I was wanting to play a sound effect as well. I created the store item and its redemption also works, however I have an issue with the reply from the bot:

  1. when the store item is set to not send a confirmation, the message from the death command is suppressed as well
  2. when the store item is set to send a confirmation, it only sends a confirmation for the redemption.
    In either case, the original death counter message is gone when using the ${redeem ...} variable... any solution for this?

@ocean narwhal If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

For some reason, my alerts are not showing up during my stream. They are fine when I test them in the overlay editor AND when I test them on stream, but not when someone actually follows, etc. I've made sure everything is checked in the editor. I made them all the size of my screen (same in OBS). I separated them into their own overlays and added them as individual sources in OBS. Nothing has worked. Even my bot is not showing up, and I made sure it's on in the Bot Modules.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterwards, but not a list of settings.

@stark loom If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Account Merging - Please note:

  • Merging accounts only allows faster ways to switch between accounts
  • Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events
  • Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts

If you understand the limitations of merging and want to proceed, please find the JWT tokens (!jwt) from both accounts you want to merge and you will be directed to DM them to a staff member.

If you have OBS.live you can go to the top of OBS and hit your StreamElements tab and check show chat in your OBS... If you are just using OBS Studio I'd recommend you download OBS.Live cause it'll give you the chat, activity feed, and other extensions to use in your OBS so you can see and your stream can't see it @warm whale

Why doesn’t my commands work on my twitch chat

Trying to figure out how my alerts stopped working. I just finished trouble shooting with OBS and they suggest I ask here after we tried a few things. I've been testing out new scenes and while doing so testing the alert widgets. Suddenly they no longer show up in my broadcast software even though I see the test show up in the streamelements overlay creator. I've refreshed the cache, disabled and re-enabled hardware acceleration, shut down obs multiple times as well. Can't imagine why it just suddenly stopped working.
