Hi,
I am running into two small issues with an advanced custom command for the StreamElements bot.

The first issue/question: Is there any way to make a command argument optional? I am trying to setup a command with two required and one optional argument. However, the command only triggers if some value for the third argument is provided.

The second issue: I am trying to send a request to a custom api. One of the query string parameters contains dots (it's an IP address). This seems to get caught in the URL validation ("RequestError: Request path contains unescaped characters"). I tried using query-/pathescape but since dots are valid as-is in a URL, those don't help unfortunately.

So recently switched to Stream Elements from Streamlabs obs, and have such a small simple problem that I can seem to fix. So my game tag (... is currently playing fall guys for example) i cant seem to change it. So its currently stuck saying I'm playing Star wars: squadrons when I'm not. On streamlabs obs is asks you to confirm you Stream title and tag the game you're currently playing right before you go live can't see why stream elements haven't implemented this simple prompt for people right before the go live? But any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

@hazy goblet There is a bug with setting the stream title in OBS and the dev team is investigating.
In the meantime you can set the title using the !settitle command in chat (if enabled in your bot command settings) or with the Twitch dashboard: https://dashboard.twitch.tv/stream-manager

@simple citrus If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

If a viewer tipped through PayPal but no information appears in your StreamElements account, this generally means PayPal has held the tip for verification. Until PayPal clears the tip and sends back a confirmation to your StreamElements account, no information will appear there and no alert will play, as that confirmation is the only way for us to be aware of a successful transaction. If you believe there may be an issue with the transaction, you'll need to contact PayPal support as StreamElements is only a passthrough service and never actually gets involved with the transaction or touches the money.

So when I'm Live the bot will announce I'm playing "Teamfight Tactics" even though I'm playing Phasmophobia and it does it everytime. ANy idea how I can fix this?

I have the following problem. I changed my twitch name from "rag3club" to "hallerson_". I use OBS Studio with the Streamelements plugin. The chatbot writes in a certain rhythm "Error: Check the bot command setup."

I also took the bot out of the stream and put it back in again.

@frank stump 10 minutes of watchtime are given to those in chat when the loyalty points are handed out (every 10 minutes). Therefore, loyalty must be enabled for watchtime to work properly.
There is no direct link between watchtime and all-time points.
It can’t be calculated from the amount of all-time points a user has because subs may earn points at a faster rate and !bonus all command increases all-time points for users in chat at that time.
Giving points to a single user does not affect all-time, only when giving to all in chat.

Hey the song request widget has been playing most songs by starting them halfway through (on stream only...on the widget itself, it looks as if it is playing from the beginning but audio-wise for the stream it is actually starting halfway through). @sleek leaf If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

I had the custom bot work following these instructions, but in the last step 5 & 6, there's no "console" tab anymore; these steps used to work, can someone help with the last two steps? Thank you!

  1. Right click on your OBS desktop shortcut -> properties - in the "Target" field add this at the VERY end of the target field --> --remote-debugging-port=40404
  2. Open OBS(or restart if it was open)
  3. Open your browser and type in "localhost:40404"
  4. In the browser of the localhost:40404, Click on the "StreamElements - Activity feed" blue link
  5. At this link, navigate to the Console tab

You can remove the bot by going into your streamelements dashboard and separate it from your channel by hitting the part bot from channel @brazen jolt

@surreal knot Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

You have to make sure that you add it in I think a gif or mp4 format and then open up the alert bot and there will be the different events. You change that video with your gif @gloomy nest

I'm having an issue getting my font to show up in OBS as the same that I picked from the overlay editor.
The font is a basic drop down font - Passero One
I went and installed that font from Google Fonts
it shows up correctly in the overlay editor, but not in OBS (shows a different font)

Steps:

  1. Install the font on the streaming PC or choose a pre-installed windows font.
  2. In the overlay widget settings, select Text Settings
  3. Click on Enable Custom Font
  4. Type the name of the font as it appears in the windows font directory (This is usually C:\Windows\Fonts)

Note: After installing fonts, the browser and OBS must be restarted for the font to appear.

You may have redemption widget on multiple overlays with "shutdown source when not visible" not ticked in (in plain OBS) or no OBS.Live which mutes background overlays
