The text is separate from your webm. And iirc the text margins need adjusting when using cool custom things.

Hi, I have an issue with the !setgame command, since it seems like it'aint updating all/correct Api endpoints on Twitch side that is.
Which means that if i create a command !games and use the ${game} variable to check if the game realy has changed, the bot will still answer the old game, even if i refresh the website, and even tho the Website/WebPlayer seens to change.
Do anyone here have an idea on what or how to make that work?

@stark schooner If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

  • All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
  • Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

anyone got an idea why the Bot sometimes announces a Host, when it is actually a Raid? I know it does that with 1 viewer events, but it shouldn't with multiple viewers, right? Example:

The donations I am receiving on my twitch through the Tip page of Streamelements are not counting. It is not appearing in the activity feed and because of that the donation alert is not appearing ... Account: StartzoneGames

@lament blade If a viewer tipped through PayPal but no information appears in your StreamElements account, this generally means PayPal has held the tip for verification. Until PayPal clears the tip and sends back a confirmation to your StreamElements account, no information will appear there and no alert will play, as that confirmation is the only way for us to be aware of a successful transaction. If you believe there may be an issue with the transaction, you'll need to contact PayPal support as StreamElements is only a passthrough service and never actually gets involved with the transaction or touches the money.

Are you referring to manual tweets you send in your twitter? those don't appear in your chat?

@placid raptor Yes, that's correct. I was expecting the tweets to be shown in my chat feed, but they were not.
This is how I've set up the bot - I want to have the tweets from the FunkyJ_Streams account appear in my twitch feed when they are tweeted.

Hello. When settings up alerts in OBS, the exact same alerts (and method of importing them as my source) works with StreamLabs but NOT Stream Elements, is there a reason why? When I do a test alert in Stream Elements, it works in the browser, but will not sure in my OBS Studio...

my other issue is, Sometimes im getting doubled over audio alerts randomly, Sometimes it happens when i have the overlay site up but on the dashboard and sometimes it happens when it's not up and i don't have any of the other scenes on and they all have the "turn off if not in use function on

i had my first Donation today and nothing happened, paypal is linked, overlay is set up correctly and works with Emulate but the only place i can see the donation was in my email... is this a common issue? im not affiliate so my streamelement tip panel is the only way i can receive tips.

If the tip didn't show up in the activity feed and revenue history page, then you will have to go to your paypal account and see if you need to accept the tips

Hi! I have a StreamElements alerts overlay set up, that now seems to work fine in terms of playing audio, but not the video. I've checked using the emulator online, and in the editor both audio and video play, whereas in OBS only the audio plays. Before this, I had an "invalid token" (or whatever) error, which I fixed by re-logging into StreamElements from OBS. Any tips on how to troubleshoot/fix this? I have a StreamElements chat overlay that works, so some part of the StreamElements -> OBS chain works as intended

@lament blade If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

  1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
  2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
  3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

@trail totem Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

  • All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
  • Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

Note: If you see X channel has hosted you with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.

Hi currently running into a frame issue. A few weeks ago I was streaming at a 4000kbps bitrate with no issue. the last week tho I havent been able to stream without dropping frames as soon as I hit the start streaming button. @eager hearth If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

So I'm getting the "refollow bug" (where people can unfollow and refollow me, and it'll show up still as a notification). I read that I have to "resync" the connection but I'm not sure how to do that.
I use the follow alert through the overlay; does this mean I have to delete and add the follow alert again on the overlay or something?

Additionally, they have no plans on allowing OBS in trusted mode.

@tough stone Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

Custom Fonts

Steps:

  1. Install the font on the streaming PC or choose a pre-installed windows font.
  2. In the overlay widget settings, select Text Settings
  3. Click on Enable Custom Font
  4. Type the name of the font as it appears in the windows font directory (This is usually C:\Windows\Fonts)

Note: After installing fonts, the browser and OBS must be restarted for the font to appear.

I have fixed all of the issues that the Log Analyzer gave me and my stream is still having the same issue, streamed witha bitrate of 4500 a month ago this last week and half cant even stream at 2500. Stream hardly stays at 500kp/s. No internet issues

Hi guys i have a little problem with the donation system. I just got back from a stream and someone donated me 3 times i use text-to-speech to read the messages for me. But the problem is the first time he donated the text-to-speech bot worked. But the second and third time he donated the text to speech bot doesn't want to read it anymore for some weird reason.

There is absolutely nowhere to give feedback, so I'll put this here.

This is a review of the problems with the StreamElements alert builder UI, and how its design specifically encourages over-use of hands and unnecessary clicks.

From a disability and ableism perspective, this is a terrible, terrible design choice, especially considering the target audience for StreamElements is Streamers, a group already at high risk for hand overuse and injury:

Well, if you don't have an alert for something on your stream, viewers don't... It's like as if you and viewers were noticed by the alerts... If you don't want your viewers to see the alert, just hide it or delete it, and if you want to see the events that happens open the event list on Twitch or directly from Obs

@uneven hazel 10 minutes of watchtime are given to those in chat when the loyalty points are handed out (every 10 minutes). Therefore, loyalty must be enabled for watchtime to work properly.
There is no direct link between watchtime and all-time points.
It can’t be calculated from the amount of all-time points a user has because subs may earn points at a faster rate and !bonus all command increases all-time points for users in chat at that time.
Giving points to a single user does not affect all-time, only when giving to all in chat.

@west mesa Valve has implemented a trusted mode which does not allow OBS to hook CS:GO using Game Capture. Read more in their announcement post here https://blog.counter-strike.net/index.php/2020/07/30736/.

Additionally, they have no plans on allowing OBS in trusted mode.

You will need to run the game in either windowed or borderless fullscreen and use Window Capture instead.
Alternately, you can launch the game with -allow_third_party_software.

The client seems to be perpetually stuck in the updating cycle with just around 4 1080p pixels remaining in the update. I have restarted my machine as well as uninstalled and downloaded fresh client exe. any clues to finishing the update

@tribal wing to register, after trying the "custom bot name" procedures again, when adding the moderator role to the bot in your stream chat and also disabling and enabling the custom commands, then the bot back to work.

Hi Team, I had someone tip on my stream yesterday, however it is not displaying on my dashboard. I have recieved the payment via PayPal, but no trace in StreamElements, and also no alert on stream, which would of been nice 🙂

@trim parcel You can manually update the follower/sub goal number via the Widgets settings menu. It will start counting from the number you set

@trim parcel To reset goals:

  • from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
  • from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

@dreamy spear the Media Request page is experiencing some slowness in the player. However, OBS.Live's Media Request player is working normally.
Soon the Media Request page will return to normal.

@subtle crypt Firstly, check if you don't have other Ground Control instances opened... if so, close all them. Now, open the Ground Control, delete JWT key in Settings ... now relogin to StreamElements with your main profile.

And you also can add badwords, including bad names, in the Tip Moderation and select the option to Hide Message or Disable Alert, for example. - https://streamelements.com/dashboard/tipping-settings
Go to Tipping Settings, Tipping Settings tab, item Tip Moderation and add bad words on the Filtered Words (text area) ...
If you select Hide Message on the Filter Action, then all messages filtered (containing bad words) will be hidden, but if you select Disable Alert, then when the alert is filtered it will not appear in your screen/live stream.

  1. Click on your channel name at the top of the dashboard
  2. Create a new invite at one of three access levels (Bot Supervisor, Editor, Full Control)
  3. Send this invite to a mod/manager to give them access to your dashboard. The link is one-time-use and expires after 72 hours if not accepted
