@small moat You can test Alerts via the Emulate bell on the lower left side of the Overlay Editor. Simply go to your Dashboard -> My Overlays -> Pencil/edit button on the overlay. Make sure the "Preview LIVE on stream" option is on to see the alert in OBS/Xsplit https://streamable.com/vtulg9

@late ridge If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:
1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSTOM BOT ACCOUNT" button
5.) Log in as usual and "Authorize" the custom bot name
6.) Back in the Activity feed, click on the "SEND TEST MESSAGE" button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

So I was just streaming, and we had a huge amount of serious problems with the chatbot. I just spent multiple days moving everything in my stream over from Streamlabs to Stream Elements, and these problems are so bad I'm starting to slightly regret it. Please help! The chatbot points are going crazy. For some reason, it refuses to give the necessary points out to viewers when they win contests. It just doesn't give them anything. Secondly, both the gamble and slot minigames are completely broken. Even when I set the rigged slider all the way to 0 or 100, everyone (including myself) proceeds to lose each and every single time with very few exceptions. I really dont want to have to move back to Stream labs since I love the song request feature here, but I really REALLY need help! Thank you for reading

There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security
WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

Hi, I’m tryna set up timers for when I’m live. I had it set so that they’ll post every 7 mins if 3 messages are sent. But it ended up spamming the timed commands, even if there were no messages in between.

I want to have it so that ONE of the four timers sends after every 3 messages. How do I go about setting that up.

Custom Fonts

Steps:

1. Install the font on the streaming PC or choose a pre-installed windows font.
2. In the overlay widget settings, select Text Settings
3. Enable Custom Font
4. Type the name of the font as it appears in the windows font directory (This is usually C:\Windows\Fonts)

Note: After installing fonts, the browser and OBS must be restarted for the font to appear.

Question about loyalty points:

Let's say it's set to 5 points every 10 minutes, and a watcher tunes in at the last 5 minutes of a stream, and the next day they tune in at the first 5 minutes of a stream

Will that watch time carry over and earn them that 5 points? Or is 5 points every 10 minutes strictly tied to the watch time of individual streams, rather than overall watchtime?

AFAIK Time/points are applied every 10 minutes for everybody in chat. So it can be that somebody is for 8 minutes and bot doesn't add points for them and you can be 1 minute and you will still get them (depends on "luck")

10 minutes of watchtime are given to those in chat when the loyalty points are handed out (every 10 minutes). Therefore, loyalty must be enabled for watchtime to work properly.
There is no direct link between watchtime and all-time points.
It can’t be calculated from the amount of all-time points a user has because subs may earn points at a faster rate and !bonus all command increases all-time points for users in chat at that time.
Giving points to a single user does NOT affect all-time, only when giving to all in chat.

@lament blade We've got access to the information from twitch but there's not an out of the box solution for stream elements to read the data. SE uses the chat commands to link the chat to the overlays. However, if you learn javascript you could make a separate addition to the chat box on something like glitch.com and have twitch pass the information to there, then work in a series of special mod-olny chat commands that trigger SE to do something based on those. Then since the chatbot is a mod it could then delete the chat commands. They would only appear to flicker for a second or so in the chat but it would work as a very basic linkage between the two.

Second time posting since the first one got missed I guess: So I was just streaming (yesterday), and we had a huge amount of serious problems with the chatbot. I just spent multiple days moving everything in my stream over from Streamlabs to Stream Elements, and these problems are so bad I'm starting to slightly regret it. Please help! The chatbot points are going crazy. For some reason, it refuses to give the necessary points out to viewers when they win contests. It just doesn't give them anything. Secondly, both the gamble and slot minigames are completely broken. Even when I set the rigged slider all the way to 0 or 100, everyone (including myself) proceeds to lose each and every single time with very few exceptions. I really don't want to have to move back to Stream labs since I love the song request feature here, but I really REALLY need help! Thank you for reading

@crisp dawn For contests, the winnings are based on the losers' bets. If there are no losers, there are no earnings.
For slots, the slider isn't for rigging it. The odds are always based on the number of emotes in it. The slider changes the payout you get for a win, to overall balance the cost vs. odds and winnings.
For roulette, the slider does affect odds. What do you currently have it set to?

@crisp dawn Payout. 50% basically means that, over time, the payout for wins should break even with the amount you've spent while trying to get wins. Higher means you'll on average earn over time, lower means on average you'll lose over time.

The odds are solely controlled by the number of emotes in there, with only two emotes being the highest odds at 25% chance of winning.

@heady birch Again: You're probably editing the layer name, and not the actual widget text. Select the widget, open the Settings menu on the left, and then edit that text field.

@crisp dawn And yes, that's how contests work. If losers bet 1000 total, then 1000 will be distributed to the winners based on how much the winners bet. So if there's two winners, and one bet 600 and one bet 400, then the first will get 60% of the pot, and the other will get 40% of the pot.

@lime flume If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:
1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSTOM BOT ACCOUNT" button
5.) Log in as usual and "Authorize" the custom bot name
6.) Back in the Activity feed, click on the "SEND TEST MESSAGE" button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

So I am at a loss atm, I recently moved and got a new router/modem (not sure if relevant) and I am not sure if it is the router/modem that is the problem or my obs/streamelements plug-in but everytime I have tried to stream the bitrate drop is ridiculous like 60 ish percent dropped in under 10 mins ridiculous, I have tried changing my settings in obs and I have contacted my ISP to see if it was maybe a port on the router that needed to be opened up and I have tried running obs as administrator, all to no avail if anyone has any ideas please let me know

Looks to definitely be your connection to the Twitch ingest server.

Steps:

1. Install the font on the streaming PC or choose a pre-installed windows font.
2. In the overlay widget settings, select Text Settings
3. Enable Custom Font
4. Type the name of the font as it appears in the windows font directory (This is usually C:\Windows\Fonts)

Note: After installing fonts, the browser and OBS must be restarted for the font to appear.

Hi guys, is there a set of steps to follow when the streamelements bot is disconnected/not working? This just happened out of nowhere. I use OBS to stream and I have tried parting and joining the channel and also unmuting the bot. Any help will be greatly appreciated

@pallid finch If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:
1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSTOM BOT ACCOUNT" button
5.) Log in as usual and "Authorize" the custom bot name
6.) Back in the Activity feed, click on the "SEND TEST MESSAGE" button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hi bros, I just have a problem with the commands on Streamelements page. When I activated any default command (8ball, duel, roulette, songrequest...) it says that the command is enabled and saved. @tropic ember Follow these steps to grant managers/moderators access to your dashboard:

1. Click on your Channel Name at the top of the dashboard and select Settings
2. Create a new invite at one of three access levels (Bot Supervisor, Editor, Full Control)
3. Send this invite to a mod/manager to give them access to your dashboard. The link is one-time-use and expires after 72 hours if not accepted
