@agile dove If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:
1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSOTM BOT ACCOUNT" button
5.) Log in as usual and "Authorize" the custom bot name
6.) Back in the Activity feed, click on the "SEND TEST MESSAGE" button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

To add your overlays to OBS, add a new browser source in your scene. Paste your overlay URL in the browser source properties, set the dimensions to 1920x1080 (unless you changed them on the website), and ☑ “Shutdown source when not visible” https://youtu.be/KDvLynUqXI4

Hi, I'm a Manager and Have full control for a Stream Elements account, but cannot link the streamers twitch. I am able to paste it, and click connect, and a pop up that says "Saving..." but there is no checkmark saying it was connected.

So I'm curious about something, when I get an email after a stream it says i get X amount of unique chatters. But if I check my twitch stats on the twitch website it shows a much lower number for unique chatters that day. Which one is more accurate?

The streamer (account owner) need to do the procedure.

I don't understand your answer, idk if I explained properly. @abstract hemlock but for example, I got an email on my stream from June 30th, the email says I had "277" unique chatters for that stream. But if I check my stream summary on twitch.tv it says i had only "65" unique chatters. Which is the accurate number?

@snow viper Unique chatter is a viewer who has joined your stream for the first time and has stayed enough for us to see him in the viewer list. They don't need to have typed in chat. So, Renziito said is, Chatter is different of Viewer.

hey team, probably a basic thing to help me with. But i see people going !quack and what not in the chat and it queues off a quack sound effect.
I have set up the sound effect in the store redemptions. What I am having trouble with is someone being able to just type !quack rather than !redeem quack

@low vortex If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:
1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSOTM BOT ACCOUNT" button
5.) Log in as usual and "Authorize" the custom bot name
6.) Back in the Activity feed, click on the "SEND TEST MESSAGE" button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

I'm doing a charity event and am using the Tiltify alert system. Is there any way to replay the alerts like you can for the other types of alerts? They don't show up in my activity feed

The donations happened before the planned stream when I didn't have Tiltify alerts active, so it'd be really nice to be able to play them back during the actual stream

The banned words module on the spam filters works the other way around.. will give a timeout to any user that use the words that you specify on that module.

@rustic pond If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:
1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSOTM BOT ACCOUNT" button
5.) Log in as usual and "Authorize" the custom bot name
6.) Back in the Activity feed, click on the "SEND TEST MESSAGE" button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Speaking of commands, I don't know if this is the right channel for it but I can't find a channel for commands-help... in the variable documentation it states that:

${touser}
[...] This is an alias for ${1|sender}

But this does not seem to actually be the case. I ran into an issue with that earlier and when using ${1|sender} in a command it will print sender (i.e. literally, not the sender's name) when no argument is supplied in the command.

Easy test-command:
1-sender: ${1|sender} 1-$sender: ${1|${sender}} touser; ${touser}

Result:

5:13 Tarulia: !test test1
5:13 StreamElements: 1-sender: test1 1-$sender: test1 touser; test1
5:13 Tarulia: !test
5:13 StreamElements: 1-sender: sender 1-$sender: Tarulia touser; Tarulia

In other words: need to use ${1|${sender}} instead.

I don't know if this is a bug in the command's execution, or if it is just outdated documentation. Maybe I'm also just misunderstanding it? 😛

well, in the command I wanted to create it was a second argument I wanted to use, or the senders name if no second argument was provided.

!command input1 input2

And output either sender or input2 depending whether input2 was provided. That's when I ran into the issue, I first thought it would only work with 1, but it didn't work with 1 either. Took me like an hour to figure out 😛

I changed my StreamElements bot name and my commands only work for about 1 minute. The only way it works is if I remove the bot and re add it. But after re-adding the bot, it stops working after 1 minute again.

Is there a fix for this please?

@tawny prism There are no "best settings".
Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard, and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterwards, but not a list of settings.

🔹 Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again with by connecting with Twitch.
🔹 On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select "Join" under bot settings. If it says "Part" select that and then select "Join" to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
🔹 Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

@tropic wagon Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline
Note: If you see "X channel has hosted you" with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.
Note for Mixer streamers: The above 2 filters currently apply for Mixer and we are aware its actually not how Mixer hosts work. We do plan on changing it, but no ETA on when.

@true pagoda If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:
1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSOTM BOT ACCOUNT" button
5.) Log in as usual and "Authorize" the custom bot name
6.) Back in the Activity feed, click on the "SEND TEST MESSAGE" button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

I'm in dire need of assistance. My overlay's haven't been working for about the past week, I've been troubleshooting my issues as I've done for years convinced it was a client side issue but now I'm officially convinced otherwise. My overlays simply work at random, my OBS settings match those depicted on your support page but my overlays don't show up in OBS whatsoever, and when they do work it's completely random, never when I'm live, always when I'm offline. I still stand by your product and would prefer to stick with StreamElements, if anyone could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

@spiral obsidian 10 minutes of watchtime are given to those in chat when the loyalty points are handed out (every 10 minutes). Therefore, loyalty must be enabled for watchtime to work properly.
There is no direct link between watchtime and all-time points.
It can’t be calculated from the amount of all-time points a user has because subs may earn points at a faster rate and !bonus all command increases all-time points for users in chat at that time.
Giving points to a single user does NOT affect all-time, only when giving to all in chat.

Click on your Channel Name at the top of the dashboard and select Settings
Create a new invite at one of three access levels (Bot Supervisor, Editor, Full Control)
Send this invite to a mod/manager to give them access to your dashboard. The link is one-time-use and expires after 72 hours if not accepted

from the overlay editor -> session data on top right (monitor symbol) -> goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal
from the dashboard -> activity feed on the left -> widget data on the right -> goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal
Note: Goal widgets(progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you loose followers/subs

@outer basin If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:
1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSOTM BOT ACCOUNT" button

Hello, I was having some issues with my chatbot tonight. It seems like it's not recognizing any commands. It is a mod. I tried unmod and then mod again. I parted channel and joined channel. I stopped and started my stream. I logged out of streamelements and back in. No matter what I tried. It didn't respond. I did see it join and depart as I was having it do so and I saw it listed under moderator too. Any thoughts on what I may have missed? I'm trying to test it offline now and still no go. My Twitch name is the same as my discord.

@median mirage If you changed your name on Twitch please follow these steps:
🔹 Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again with by connecting with Twitch.
🔹 On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select "Join" under bot settings. If it says "Part" select that and then select "Join" to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
🔹 Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

@final prawn Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card and a PC with OBS in order to have Overlays over your console gameplay.

I imported my alerts from StreamLabs to StreamElements as I want to permanently migrate, but my custom CSS doesn't appear to work! The exact CSS code works fine in StreamLabs, but my text is unaffected by the CSS in StreamElements.

Any help would be appreciated!~~

Cancel my request, I didn't know SE treated text as it's own property/variant! I found the Text Settings menu. It was somewhat hidden behind the alert variant settings. Got it now!
