@oblique shadow Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card and a PC with OBS in order to have Overlays over your console gameplay.

@oblique shadow You can not have overlays without streaming directly from a PC. You can do so with a capture card or the Xbox/PS Remote app. Otherwise you can't at all.

I applied more than a month ago, for some time there was a counter providing me how many days have passed since then. Now it dissapeared, also the apply button is not there. hey there! it's my first time using streamelements, and I tried to add an animated overlay to my stream. Thing is, its way too laggy. I've disabled hw acceleration, used a custom frame rate (60) and checked the "Shutdown source when not visible"

Opera GX and the new Microsoft Edge Chromium might work closest to Chrome as its also Chromium built. FireFox also works, but some things might look a bit different or not work. We do not recommend using Internet Explorer with our Dashboard as it does not support functions.
If the website doesn’t work on chrome, be sure none of your plugins are blocking our website or clear your cookies. You can try if the website works in a incognito tab.

The alert box on elements is all encompassing meaning your follower/subscriber/cheer/donation alerts in built inside one widget. You just need to add your StreamElements donation link to your panels.

Hi there, just started using StreamElements and have set everything up, but I've got a problem with chat commands which end up showing a link, for example a shoutout to another streamer, in chat, the link part of the shoutout appears as *** instead of the link.
I set up the comment as follows:-

and another command like this:-

I can manually post link in chat, I've set the link filter to ignore mods, but it's like the chat command thinks that the command links are rude words.
I keep trawling through other questions and looking through your YouTube videos etc, but I'm not getting anywhere.
I'm sure it's something silly that I'm doing wrong, but would really appreciate it if someone could tell me how to fix it or point me in the right direction.

@sharp field You need to 1) disable "Block Hyperlinks" on the Twitch Creator Dashboard under Preferences > Moderation and 2) mod the bot, it sounds like you have block hyperlinks unchecked so double check but make sure the bot is modded.

10 minutes of watchtime are given to those in chat when the loyalty points are handed out (every 10 minutes). Therefore, loyalty must be enabled for watchtime to work properly.
There is no direct link between watchtime and all-time points.
It can’t be calculated from the amount of all-time points a user has because subs may earn points at a faster rate and !bonus all command increases all-time points for users in chat at that time.
Giving points to a single user does NOT affect all-time, only when giving to all in chat.

I had a quick question to ask folks and hope this is the right channel. So I've just switched from using Streamlabs over to Streamelements for my twitch streams and I'm trying to set up my overlays and have it show at the top the latest sub, follower, donation, and cheer. I've selected the labels for latest for each of the categories but it isn't displaying any of them except the follower. Has anyone else had this issue and know what might be causing it?

- All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
- Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline
Note: If you see "X channel has hosted you" with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.
Note for Mixer streamers: The above 2 filters currently apply for Mixer and we are aware its actually not how Mixer hosts work. We do plan on changing it, but no ETA on when.

Mkay, Well. My issue is with the Media Request. Whenever I try to set up the media request to show on stream. After setting up all the right things in place, the media screen, the obs extension. Hey guys hope all is well. i have an odd bug. So when i get hosted/raided the alert reads {count} viewers! actually on stream rather than the number of viewers. When i use the emulate in the overlay it reads with a number so its works there but not on stream.

I am having a bit of a problem getting my Alert overlays to show up on Twitch. I have OBS Live and when I test it in OBS only the sound works but the animation alert does not pop up. I set it up as a browser source and followed everything it said to do online, I just can't figure out why it won't pop up. I don't really know what I'm doing wrong at this point. I think it is not settings-related, because the default AlertBox doesn't trigger the giftsub aswell. It is showing in the feed and in the event list. So either giftsubs are bugged for people who already gave 200+ or the specific user is bugged for me.

- Setting your default alert
- Making a variation with the parameter "at least: $2"
- Making a variation with the parameter "at least: $5"
- Making a variation with the parameter "at least: $8"
then if you want anything above $9.99 to go back to your regular alert
- Making a variation with the parameter "at least $10" and make it mirror your default alert.
That should accomplish what you're looking for.

Well the alert will have longed since disappeared but the audio keeps going, I have alerts built with audio that are greater then one minute.
There just won't be anything on the screen anymore.

1) Right click on your OBS desktop shortcut -> properties - in the "Target" field add this -> --remote-debugging-port=40404
2) Open OBS(or restart if it was open)
3) Open your browser and type in "localhost:40404"
4) Click StreamElements - Media request link
5) Point the (in browser) URL to https://youtube.com/
6) Use the OBS dock to search for a song and play it after ads
7) Restart OBS and preform media request via chat
8) Remove --remote-debugging-port=40404 from shortcut

Heya 🙂 As far as I'm awre nobody has answered my question yet !! When someone follows my channel and it says that "user has followed" is there a variable that has accountage in it so I can change the message to say "User has followed the channel. Their account is X years Y months old" please ?

Hey there, I am setting up my overlays in the editor and am wondering if there is a spot to add a browser link on the overlay editor? I have a stream pet via browser link and when I try to link it in OBS.live it will not show up. But everything I put in through the editor shows up fine. But I cannot find a add browser link option in by pressing the blue + button in the editor. Am I missing something?

Maybe someone can explain what is happening with my friend's overlay... When in the editor it shows "follow goal: 0/5" using the session follower count... But on his actual overlay in obs it only show "follow goal: /5" the 0 is missing. Any ideas?

My recent subscribers label on the StreamElements website "scroll text" feature has been working/not working sometimes on OBS, however my top cheerers list will scroll perfectly fine. Any way to fix this? At some points, the recent subscribers label will scroll then out of nowhere it will just stop scrolling, other times it doesn't scroll ever.

Steps to make a command trigger sound on stream:
- Go to Stream Store page here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/store/items
- Add an item that has these settings on it:
- Stream Perk
- Loyalty settings to your desire
- (Next step) Add contents (image and/or sound you want to play)
- "Redeeming this item shows an alert
- Redemable via chat
- Skip Requirements
- Get the item name/command from the 2nd creation page
- Go to commands page here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/bot/commands/custom
- Add command with desired name and have response for command as:
${redeem item_name_here} - Go to your overlays and edit the overlay you use.
- Click on "widgets" and add "Store redemptions" widget. Click save and you should be golden.
- Test your own command in chat and have OBS or editor open to hear sound
- ???
- Profit in viewer interaction and that dosh

and named them appropriately, then you either make your own overlays for each intermission or ending type

@undone lynx for the console itself yes you will need a capture card but for the xbox beta app for pc you can capture your xbox games with a software called obs and our plugin obs.live then from there, yes you can use our overlays for your stream on the xbox beta app 🙂

@little oak i couldnt express myself well i think, let me try again haha I didnt had the overlay widget set up for store redemptions yet, but i gave some points to a friend and ask him to try and purchase an item, he did and nothing happen (i assume its because i didnt have the overlay), but also, when i looked at my streamelements dashboard and went to store/redemptions, i had to accept my friend's purchase, like i had to approve that he was buying that, is this a thing or it doesnt mean anything?

for the watchtime cmd you need to have that enabled, That is our loyalty point system to tracc who watches and who earns the points you have set within

@little oak yes to both. i recently change my twitch name though, also changing my emote code. i deleted the old one (which was working fine, but i wanted it to be updated with the new emote prefix) and when i went to add the new one, it didnt work. i tried adding the old one too and that didn't work

im actually making good progress now. my one question is im trying to add a streamelements chat widget, and when I do and set the background to transparent, it automatically sets the text color to black, when I actually want the text color to be white. not seeing anywhere ti change it

I am having problems with host and raid alerts. I put it at 0 amounts and it still doesn't show all of them for some reason. Is there anything I can try to fix it?

@fluid stream Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:
- All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
- Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline
Note: If you see "X channel has hosted you" with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.
Note for Mixer streamers: The above 2 filters currently apply for Mixer and we are aware its actually not how Mixer hosts work. We do plan on changing it, but no ETA on when.

only thing i saw about resetting the counters was this create a custom command !resetCounter ${count <name> <value>} where <name> have to be the same name that the !"cmd name" one and value, in your case, should it be 0

Hello! I was using link protection and have the timeout set for 2s as a purge. That works fine but the user also gets banned from the channel when triggered. Any idea why it's like that?

@scarlet patrol Unfortunately OBS for Mac is slightly "stunted" when it comes to browser sources. Because of a particular setting missing video elements for the overlay isn't exactly ideal.

You can try with the video source but as I don't use a mac that would be something to ask in the OBS server.
