@proper tide you shouldn't use resize to output. That messes with the resolution your stream will be. Go to Settings > Video and change it back to how it was.

yes and if you don't check the box it will only work in the editor and not the other pages/tabs/OBS browser source, which is an issue many people have since it's a new feature and not activated by default 😃

@strange socket, I'm not with SE support, but I just did this yesterday. If you're using the export extension for chrome, make sure you're logged into both SLOBS and SE within that browser. I stopped receiving the error after I did that. Hope it helps.

Your first mission is to get your Xbox gameplay on your mac so you would either need a capture card or windows. Then you can use OBS with all the fancy alert stuff. 😄

Steps to enable custom name

1. Sign in to https://twitch.tv/ with the bot account
2. Install and run Ground Control (!gc for download)
3. Visit https://twitchapps.com/tmi/ and generate an oAUTH token
4. Copy/paste everything in the box to Ground Control oAuth settings and enter the name for the bot account
5. Restart Ground Control (custom name may take a few minutes to take effect)

Mac does not currently support renaming the bot.

OBS.Live is just a plugin for OBS Studio and does not change andthing on your sound setup. Please check that the sound is not muted and you got feedback in your Mixer in OBS?

AH one problem i did have with streamlabs with my alerts was i couldn't figure out how to set it so "spam" donations/sub messages would not mess with the gif/message boundaries.

You can set the text of the donation under your gif in the editor settings.
I am not really sure if this is related to your question, as I don't really get what your problem was. Was the text overlapping the gif in the alert?

YES that's exactly it so the gif would get pushed out of the way because the "@@@" or "777" spam would be to long and the alert shown just became the message. I like spam dono messages it just would ruin the alert is all.

Im using OBS and switched from using streamlabs for my recent dono's to using the streamelements add on for OBS. Previously i was able to have my alerts, recent donations, and subs in a different spot for each scene. Now i can't figure out how to do that with this new add on.

Your alertbox is edited on the site, in the overlay editor. Not in OBS.

If you want a different position for each type of alert, make a separate alertbox that only has the type of alert it'll handle enabled. Note that if you have multiple alertboxes handling the same kind of alert, things can and likely will break.

When streaming from a console, it doesn't matter what you use, you just can't. Consoles aren't capable.

You need to connect your console to your computer and stream from your computer.

I can not get my text to speech to work. I have tried using different voices, and even remade my entire alert widget and I still cant get it to use tts. (and yes its checked to be enabled).

Also is there a way to make it so i can have my widgets for recent sub/cheer to line up better. atm i have to have the box large enough for a big name, but i dont want it to be scrolling. i didnt know if there is a better way to set it up so it resizes the name or something. and can adjust next to other widgets

So I have a problem and I know it's not an OBS problem. So my alertbox doesn't work at all. When I'm in overlay edditor and hit "test alert" It shows my alert only on the editor. I doesn't show on the "Launched Overlay" or my OBS. I didn't change anything in my OBS, I didn't change anything in my Overlay. Every other Widget works without problem. Alertbox and gifs and other widgets in the same overlay work beside alertbox, only alertbox in overlay doesn't work. When I press on my OBS Activity Feed button to refresh alert, it shows on my obs.. someone might know what might be the issue?

I logged out from StreamElements site and logged in, I reset my PC, I reset my OBS, I made new profile and Scene Collection in OBS

@lament blade @autumn rose the bot doesnt work because you changed your name. you will need to part the bot from your channel, log out of the SE dashboard, log back in with your new twitch name and re-join the bot

Hi. I have just started setting up an overlay. Pressing the bell and testing everything works great. When in OBS however, the only thing on the overlay that works is the last follower scroll. Neither the follower or tip alerts shows on my obs screen when I do the test. Yes I have saved my work and copy/pasted the overlay link. Set resolutions and fps. I originally DID check the 'Shutdown source...." but it wasn't working with that checked either, and subsequent ME vids I have watched have not required that be checked anyway. Can anyone think why the scrolling text works but not the alert box? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Steps:

@mossy rivet as far as I'm aware, SL uses a different way of storing scenes that doesn't play nice with OBS. You can go from OBS -> SLOBS but not the other way around 😦

Whenever I hit "show on stream" with the media request on OBS. The audio doubles when the video is shown. How do I fix this?

@unkempt flare Make sure to ☑ “Shutdown source when not visible” for all browser sources (all OBS scenes). Alerts are working fine. Make sure you've added your overlay to OBS correctly. Emulated alerts will not appear without the checkbox checked.

@warped panther We have added a new feature, which allows testing of alerts only in the Editor or in both Editor and OBS. Hover over the bell and on the right side toggle it on.

Can I change the resolution of a overlay profile if I change my monitor? Or do I have to make a new overlay with the new resolution?

Overlays are always 1920x1080 by default. Changing the resolution in the "My overlays" section of your account will not resize or reposition the assets you already have in the overlay.

Hey there! I do have Ground Control installed, but the issue happens regardless if its running or not. The bot suddenly stops working and will not reply to any commands. I've already generated new oauth and checked JWT auth as well, nothing seems to help. It appears to be random. Any thoughts ?

@trim pebble that would depend on your overlay, there are plenty that offer to show the most recent follower

also with my issue, when the bot starts responding, often it will reply with two messages, even three sometimes of the same text. Extremely odd, cant make any sense of it
