Steps to enable custom name
- Sign in to https://twitch.tv with the bot account
- Install and run Ground Control (!gc for download)
- Visit https://twitchapps.com/tmi/ and generate an oAUTH token
- Copy/paste everything in the box to Ground Control oAuth settings and enter the name for the bot account
- Restart Ground Control (custom name may take a few minutes to take effect)
Mac does not currently support renaming the bot.

Consoles cannot use overlays on their own. You need to get your gameplay to your PC with a capture card or remote play and stream from your PC instead.

all my alerts were at 10% volume on Tuesday while i was streaming and couldnt figure out why so i changed them on Wednesday to 30% and 35% for TTS then Thursday i went to stream and they were at 35% and 75% for TTS . So it's like they are doing whatever they want for some reason. I've also had subs not show up even though they are people who have been subs for awhile and normally it shows, but alerts wont play for them or when they gift subs, but I get the info on the backend

That's the odd thing, other subs worked fine it was just a random few that don't, I replaced all the sound files on Wednesday this week because they were all renamed to the point I couldn't even tell the volume levels the names were so long and for some reason and the sound volumes keeps changing so I have no idea what to do about that.

They can't pay via PayPal - the idea behind SE.Pay is to go around PayPal and G2A Pay to use accounts - directly inputting the card number and you are done. No need for password(except internet purchases password or w/e people have as a security measure on their cards - i have an SMS code) and other trickery. Bank statement in return just says the streamer username.

The person was a normal paid sub, not a twitch prime or resub
the other person resubbed on tier 3 but did that went off with his name was the alert for a normal tier 1 sub

im trying to add a shadow to my latest subscriber widget, and while the shadow shows in both my overlay and in obs, if i make shadow adjustments, they show in only the overlay and not on obs
like i made the shadow bright red and offset it 10 pixels to the right so it would be clearly visible, but in obs its just the default black shadow thats 1x1x1 pixels

how do i set up timers to not post them back to back?
with stream labs you just had to set how many lines of text would trigger them and it would post them in sequention one by one. It worked very well. and you would never see 2 at a time.
but your timer mechanics are driving me up the wall.
every time i set the timers 2 always go off at a time and some never go off at all.
i'm getting really frustrated with it cause it doesn't have to be this complicated to do such a simple task.
i have like 5 timers. I want them all to post with maybe 5 lines of chat between each one. how do i do this properly?

yes , it doesnt solve the problem that is a really stupid way to handle timers. because the nature of it makes timers only work if your chat is constantly scrolling , and you will still have multiple go off at the same time no matter what you set it to .
a better way would be for the timers to be a list. you set the chat lines or time delay, and each time the timer goes off it posts the next one on the list so all of them are eventually posted

I set up a keyword trigger for things like “hi chat” or “hello everyone” and it replies with a randomized message to that person. Works pretty well and doesn’t get overly spammy cause people have to say one of the right phrases

with that many items it will take time to load. the easiest way to hide this is to make a transition that hides everything loading. the other options are to increase the obs processing power but that will take up resources so you would then experience lag/stutter

I really confused lol. I've tried to lower FPS to 30, tried all but the lowest two encoder settings, and still am having that jump effect in stream and it is saying CPU and GPU issues on the analyser. so either your settings are wrong or something is faulty. i cant help you with that and would still suggest asking in the OBS discord

Hey! So my stream is just very jumpy. I've downscaled the resolution, tried all the encoder presets, and dropped from 60 to 30 FPS with no avail. I can send a clip of the issue in a DM to you if you desire.

@ocean yacht can you provide a screenshot? it sounds like you didnt confirm each alias with hitting enter. that can happen
after you type an alias you need to hit enter for it to be entered and then save the command

@onyx marten with your hardware it might be. since your CPU might be on high usage already even without a window with a stream in it running. have you checked your CPU usage in your task manager?

and I couldn't disable it
thus what should have been 70-80% became 100
So with this lower CPU should the stream run better?

@devout tangle 1) Install the font on the streaming PC or choose a pre-installed windows font.
2) In the overlay widget settings, select Text Settings
3) Enable Custom Font
4) Type the name of the font as it appears in the windows font directory (This is usually C:\Windows\Fonts)
Note: After installing fonts, the browser and OBS must be restarted for the font to appear.

Check your variations in the Overlay Editor. If you do tests in the editor does it show up?

I have been streaming other games fine with no issues and my net is doing fine too. I tried using different bitrates and encoding settings but nothing seems to be changing. Everything in OBS is working except my subs - no notifications - not showing my sub count in streamelements but they are updating in twitch. shows 2 subs on twitch, but none on some parts of streamelements but shows 2 in some other areas. My notifications aren't showing for them, and also my bot isn't announcing them in the channel.

People can decide to "not show" their resubs
They are counted, but there is no action taken
So no automated twitch message nor alert
Also they don't get populated to streamelements, as Twitch doesn't forward "anonymous" resubs to us

@strong pike Twitch prime (new and resub) and paid subscriptions (resub only) must be shared in chat manually by the person subscribing in order for the subscription information to be sent to StreamElements. For twitch prime, the user needs to have sharing enabled on https://www.twitch.tv/settings/prime. There are different ways we use to get data, this is a reason behind that.
Neither of them is good. One provides you full data + alerts, even if viewer doesn't want to, second doesn't.

Hey there, I noticed on stream yesterday that my Cheer alert seems to not show up. I get the sound, but no image and no TTS was working. I imported my Alerts from SL and use a Nerd or Die pack. I've just gone into my overlays and it still doesn't show, but all my other Alerts do. Testing them back on SL the alert and TTS works fine. These did work before, so I imported them again and the new import has the same issue. Not sure what to do from here.
