After 6 months of streaming we kinda agreed that bits are not as good as we thought at first and many pple would gladly donate instead of buying or farming bits. So my question is how well i am protected from chargebacks? Somebody said that streamelements have chargeback protection somebody said that i am not protected at all. I really dont want situation when somebody donate 1 euro 1 euro 1 euro 1 euro then he chargeback that and i would have to pay 20 euros for every chargeback he made. Thank you for answers.

@kindred spindle our global chargeback protection, if enabled on your account and as long as you are using the force login for tipping, will not allow anyone who has been banned in another streamer with global chargeback protection on, to tip you as well.

Example:
Viewer #1 tips Protected Streamer #1 - tip is charged back, viewer gets banned
Viewer #1 tries to tip you, if you have the global protection - they can't
Viewer #2 tips you, its a troll tip - you ban them
Viewer #2 tries to tip streamer #1 - they can't as they are banned.

There is always a risk of getting charged back regardless of who is tipping you. In which ever case, as time goes on, you can see who is trolling you and who is not, but when a chargeback happens with PayPal, usually you can dispute the chargeback by providing info to PayPal stating that you are an entertainer and the person provided you with a tip for the content you provided, with a quote of the translation info that states "Thank you for the tip" which is a default message we attach to the paypal tip. @kindred spindle

What StermElements Portal are you referring to? Since we have a cloud based bot, you can open the website on every web browser and see the activity feed in there I think.

You can just open the twitch page and pop out the twitch chat. So you have that on your laptop.

If you set up OBS to capture the audio coming out of your device which you are also listening to then both you and they should be able to hear it, if you are just listening to the audio then you only need the Media Request webpage open, if you're planning on sharing the video too then that would be through OBS instead

@tribal tiger In OBS you can go to -> settings -> stream -> disconnect -> connect account. After that the panels and the chat box should be back.
You might have to do this after every restart or profile change of OBS. We are working on a fix.

hey, im having trouble with my alerts, sometimes when I stream my alerts start working but then they just stop, any reason why? I have to stop the stream and re open it to get them to work and this can be annoying

there are a few things to check your end:
make sure there are no chrome extensions blocking the widget,
try testing with incognito mode
also check you firewall in case thats blocking something

You create a blank overlay and in the top bar there is widgets. You can find the alert box there (don't forget about the variations for each event). After this, add the overlay to your OBS.

Attempting to get it to allow me to add a stream element tipping link so I can modify the streamelement bot name.
I click the little link in the settings option inside of OBSLive and it starts to buffer then returns to my editing of my scenes without giving me any chance to do anything. am I missing something?

Since I'm now using Stream Elements to count my tips, is there a text file I can pull this info from that I can download that updates similar to Streamlabs Streamlabels?

I want to use my custom fonts with it so it would be helpful to have a local file versus something that's hosted online.

Streamlabs uses a donation system as well, and I use their Streamlabel service (uses text files downloaded locally) to reflect my donations. I'd like to do the same thing with Stream Elements.

1. Install the font on the streaming PC or choose a pre-installed windows font.
2. In the overlay widget settings, select Text Settings
3. Enable Custom Font
4. Type the name of the font as it appears in the windows font directory (This is usually C:\Windows\Fonts)

Note: After installing fonts, the browser and OBS must be restarted for the font to appear.

@mental palm essentially the overlay is a web page, which doesn't have direct access to your hard drive - but in a web page you use custom fonts on the client machine simply by specifying their name (actually the font-family CSS property if you want to look it up)

so it's pretty much vanilla

maybe the alert duration isnt high enough. ive just tested with 20 and even 50 seconds and the text will stay even though the animation has finished

@jade remnant here's a weird one.. if I set the text to appear 0.5s after the alert, it doesn't disappear. I want the text to appear immediately, so this is no good for me - but it's odd that this should affect it.

@jade remnant scrub that, I can see why it affects it - it just adds 0.5s to the time before the text vanishes is all (e.g. it disappears after delay+duration)

Set up Media Reqest as "Via Tip" only.

As well you can make the quantity for the free request to 1.

Ok, so I use the Chat module to post in chat messages when someone follows, subs etc. Not a fan of the PogChamp emote for when a viewer redeems a sfx so I removed the PogChamp text, saved the changes and it still shows in the chat. One of my mods and I decided we don’t need that in chat notification to show so I disabled the Chat module in chat text for redemptions, saved the changes and it still shows in the chat when a sfx is redeemed and with the emote even though I’ve removed the PogChamp text and disabled the in chat redemption from the Chat module. Am I missing something?

@swift swan If you'v setup an account and provided your details correctly, then you should be fine. There is a 7 business day verification period for the bank details - if those fail, the form will popup again and you will see a yellow stripe in the Dashboard.

@swift abyss Have you tried parting the bot and joining it again? Sometimes the bot is cached and needs a little boot.

@vast hornet I’ve had that as well. What I find is the best solution is open the Elgato Game Capture software first and make any changes there. Then open OBS do the configure video option. It should open then. 😊
