How do I change the name of my bot?

• Active overlay with alerts
• StreamElements tipping page in the panels below the stream (!panels)
• Create a twitch account for the name you want to use
• Ground Control app must be running

Steps to enable custom name

1. Sign in to https://twitch.tv with the bot account
2. Install and run Ground Control (!gc for download)
3. Visit https://twitchapps.com/tmi/ and generate an oAUTH token
4. Copy/paste everything in the box to Ground Control oAuth settings and enter the name for the bot account
5. Restart Ground Control (custom name may take a few minutes to take effect)

Mac does not currently support renaming the bot.

Another problem im having is the sub gift alert. The one i have set up isn't working, it shows the shark instead of the picture and i made sure that random one being picked are turned off and that seems to be the dominate one. I can't figure out where this gift sub is.

Hey i have been having a problem with the Top emotes leaderboard for a few months. only the top 4 emotes have been updated and everything else is stuck at like 40 emotes. Anyone know how to fix it?

I see on the Guides article via Timers, StreamElements will take care of the spacing between each message automatically. So maybe I just set them all to like every 10 min and SE will do the rest to space them out?

If you have donations that came through SE that did not alert, the most common cause for this would be tipping moderation, like the TTS anti spam, or you have manual approval enabled, and they are in your pending activities

I simulated an event and it knocked out by HypeBoss viewer, is there a way to fix that?

I emulated a cheer to test out a widget and now the HypeBoss is the emulated cheerer - which is a big bummer for my REAL viewer.

If not, simulate the boss again a bit more until low health and then run the last boss' alert to make them the boss again.

@odd forge Twitch prime (new and resub) and paid subscriptions (resub only) must be shared in chat manually by the person subscribing in order for the subscription information to be sent to StreamElements. Beginner/intermediate/Advance Timer Guide:
You have a 5-6 minutes internal (hidden for you) timer that counts chat lines.
If chat lines are met in that interval, then the external timer that you set starts counting down.
If chat lines are not met in that interval, then the internal timer is reset.

Having most timers with exact same settings, makes them trigger at once, so its best to have them with different chat lines and timers.
(External timer examples: interval of 5/7/9/12 minutes - yes some timers may trigger all at once but its less common if common divination number is different most of the time)

Detailed explanation of chat lines:
Timers are also chat line (chat activity) dependent. At 0 chat lines the bot will start its timers every time after it has detected activity, when it gets restarted globally by us. At 5 chat lines, it will expect ~5 chat lines to be met under 5 minutes. If no chat lines are met in those 5 minutes, the internal timer is reset. Do note that chat lines are dependent on how active is your chat. So for example at around 1 to 5 avg. viewers, you might not have enough of an active chat, to trigger a 20 chat line timer. Best suggestion here is, chat lines should be equal to at least how many viewers you have noticed you have on each stream, but this does not mean you need to change the chat lines every stream.

Update 6th Feb. 2020
There is a way now to queue up different messages in 1 timer so the bot will post the 1 out of 10 messages from the timer.
Basically the bot will post message 1, wait for its chat lines and timer and then post message 2, and then 3 and so on until the end and it starts from 1 again. To add these messages, simply go to the timers and click "Add message"

There is an idea to have random timer picker in the ideas board. What I mean is, if you have 5 timers the internal timer picks a random pre-set one and only plays that, instead of each one individually.

As for varying minutes on timers - thats...a new thing I think 🤔

• Redemable via chat
• Skip Requirements

3. Get the item name/command from the 2nd creation page
4. Go to commands page here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/bot/commands/custom
5. Add command with desired name and have response for command as: ${redeem item_name_here}
6. Go to your overlays and edit the overlay you use.
7. Click on "widgets" and add "Store redemptions" widget. Click save and you should be golden.

Like I said, you most likely have not set the channels correctly. Play the game and see where the game sound pops up in the UI - then redirect that sound via the A1/A2/A3 for your own output and use B1/B2 as the output for OBS

Click on those buttons.

so in short: I have been reworking my SLOBS (and also OBS Studio) to get maximum performance for minimum cpu usage, I went all advanced to optimise it until I got a 5% cpu usage.. I like SLOBS because it's all inclusive and stremlabs has been a thing I used for many years so It's hard to depart from that.. point is.. last week I noticed that my games were laggier than normal and my stream output was unstable, I dropped effective frames but none were "lost". after checking all my settings i found out that my cpu usage more than doubled and it's primary cause was the broswer input of streamelements.

If you want it to use less resources, make the size of the kappagen widget smaller in the overlay editor.

@cobalt kindle if you have the "shutdown when not active" on your overlay, I recommend hiding the source with the boss, then running your tests on the other overlay, then re-activate the overlay when you are done testing

2. You should be able to adjust the volume the same way, with the volume slider. If you don't see it, expand the program horizontally. It also goes off what you have set on youtube (I believe), so adjusting there could help as well

@marsh canyon The issue I see is that the FX series is old and outdated at this point. It didn't actually have as many physical cores as advertised, more just half the cores, and they advertised the logical processors (2 per core). This severly reduces CPU available in this case. I would recommend limiting your overlay to very few moving objects. No animated images, nothign scrolling, etc.

yeah. this will reduce the rendering the browser source plugin has to do, which will reduce load on your GPU/CPU

start saving up for those upgrades 😉 you could start with the GPU (check your PSU as well, to make sure it can handle the upgrades). The hardest one will be the CPU, as the next step requires a whole new mobo, cpu, and ram

Hello! So I've wanted to try setting up StreamElements to try out OBS LIVE, but when i tried uploading my bits.ogg file, it would pop an error saying "Failed to upload file" or something like that, what's the cause of this and how do I fix it?

Custom bot name requirements

• StreamElements bot modded and in chat
• Active overlay with alerts
• StreamElements tipping page in the panels below the stream (!panels)
• Create a twitch account for the name you want to use
• Ground Control app must be running

Steps to enable custom name

1. Sign in to https://twitch.tv with the bot account
2. Install and run Ground Control (!gc for download)
3. Visit https://twitchapps.com/tmi/ and generate an oAUTH token
4. Copy/paste everything in the box to Ground Control oAuth settings and enter the name for the bot account
5. Restart Ground Control (custom name may take a few minutes to take effect)

Mac does not currently support renaming the bot.

Any USA based bank account should be able to link up with SE.Pay. Usually it takes up to 7 days for your account details (and any other details you provided) to be verified fully and then another 2-3 days for tip you received to be verified before being able to be withdrawn.

If you are still unable to withdraw after the full 7 to 10 days, let us know and mentioned this.
