Steps to enable custom name

1. Sign in to https://twitch.tv with the bot account
2. Install and run Ground Control (!gc for download)
3. Visit https://twitchapps.com/tmi/ and generate an oAUTH token
4. Copy/paste everything in the box to Ground Control oAuth settings and enter the name for the bot account
5. Restart Ground Control (custom name may take a few minutes to take effect)

Mac does not currently support renaming the bot.

Repeating questions again: So I'm using Hype Cup and I've added my own variations for all alerts. However, when testing cheers, it also uses tons of random Twitch emotes. Is there an option to disable that?
Also, testing the subscriber gift alert causes the overlay editor to repeat the alert infinitely

My issue is that the bot automatically responds to the user that inputs the command so it looks SUPER redundant for one like

!points = @upbeat orchid dimmizer has X number of points.

ofc its ok if you're checking the points of someone else cause then it says @upbeat orchid, Usernamehere has X number of points.

I have my own command that I made but then its broke because it doesn't show the name of the user you're calling for so

example

StreamElements: @Dimmizer, has 0 Hero Bucks
Dimmizer: !points likeahero
StreamElements: @Dimmizer, has 841 Hero Bucks```

Is there no way to make the bot NOT reply directly to the user?

it just seems so redundant and idk it's very tacky

I've had a variation of my subscriber alerts configured for some time now, and regardless of how long or which type of subscriber, the resub alert variation I have never triggers. It only triggers the "New Subscriber" alert for the associated tier variation I have (I have 3 variations; Prime/4.99, 9.99, and 24.99 with unique animnations). Screen shot of the "resub" variation attached.

Also, I wanted to add, I think it's likely a "priority" issue some where. I attached a screenshot of the configuration for my Tier 1 Alert for new subscribers. I imagine it is using this every time if someone resubscribes, even if I have the "resub" variation at the top of the category. I imagine this could be solved by using the hierarchy of the list in variations is listed from most important to least important, or by giving us more than 1 variation parameter for the alerts, so we can create a more specific/intelligent logic.

• Ground Control app must be running

Steps to enable custom name

1. Sign in to https://twitch.tv with the bot account
2. Install and run Ground Control (!gc for download)
3. Visit https://twitchapps.com/tmi/ and generate an oAUTH token
4. Copy/paste everything in the box to Ground Control oAuth settings and enter the name for the bot account
5. Restart Ground Control (custom name may take a few minutes to take effect)

Mac does not currently support renaming the bot.

Since about a week I have issues with my Alerts, especially "host" alerts not showing up
they neither appear on my streamelements dashboard, nor on the ground control app or in obs.live
however when i try to manually test them with the button inside the overlays on the website they show up

I switched from another platform and had no issues streaming, now I notice OBS is taking up a huge amount of CPU and I'm not able to stream without huge lag, could the animated browser-based overlays be causing an issue for me since this is the only OBS change I've had? Any other tips to check that I may have overlooked? I read in a help article about testing settings - output - enable advanced encoder settings to switch the streaming encoder from software to hardware (NVENC)... but my follow up is, will this affect my streaming performance or quality otherwise? I'm not familiar with any other impacts that may have

x264 is better than NVENC when it comes to quality, but loads your CPU more. and yes, animated alerts are heavier than static ones.
My tip is: let MSI Afterburner run in the background so you see what is hitting 100% and adjust later.

@kind epoch The module is working as intended, and we've actually gotten an influx of people who left it on and have been confusedly asking us to help turn it off now that it's actually started to echo tweets. I'd recommend disabling the module, parting the bot from your channel, logging out of StreamElements, logging back in, having the bot rejoin your channel, and turning the module back on. If that doesn't work, there is an issue with how you've configured the module settings.

I've been having issues with my custom alert variations for tips not firing. I remade my entire alertbox widget in a blank overlay and it works fine, but when I duplicate it into my stream overlay, none of the tip variations work. all other variations besides tips work

1 - How can we get the Bits GIF animation for each tier of bits (gray, teal, purple,etc) like on Streamlabs?
2 - How can I add more sub variations under the Cup widget? Right now I can only have 4 and need 5 (new, 3 month, 6 month, 1 year, 2 year)
3 - The import tool for Streamlabs didn't transfer my custom tip alerts accurately, notably the custom gifs and exact amounts, is this normal?
4 - Is there an extension equivalent to the Streamlabs loyalty points extension that appears on stream? I understand there are loyalty points but I was a fan of the extension provided by streamlabs 😃

It is quite possible for the import tool to lock out an alert box or import anything that has been buggy with their alert box. From personal experience, with SL before I could not update the follower gif and sound - import tool imported same problem so I had to recreate the alert box.
