You may experience lag between the two open locations, due to the HypeBoss sharing the same stored data location, which sometimes can even trigger taking HP more then it should.
I'd suggest to close OBS while testing the boss, just so you don't get it out of sync with the editor or vise versa.
This is most likely the issue for the profile pictures as well, as the OBS may simulate a different kind of profile picture, as opposed to the editor
The bell button just gives a signal to simulate an event, doesn't have a specific 1 person pre-defined simulation, but picks at random.

When switching scenes theres about a 1-2 second delay before the overlay loads in, I can avoid this by disabling the shut down source option. However, that will cause alerts to trigger twice.

if you're hearing multiple sounds check that you don't have multiple alert sources in that scene or that you aren't hearing the alerts from somewhere else such as the browser

I'm super HYPED about the new HYPE BOSS widget. One observation: it doesn't always use the correct avatar for the next boss, it seems like sometimes it uses the actual twitch account avatar, but sometimes it uses a random image. Any idea what's happening?

Well it depends on what the person has as an avatar, if they have the random twitch default one. Usually if we can't pull it we place our own default which is a grey avatar with a question mark.
As to why it doesn't work sometimes, when the boss is killed, it gets the new avatar but doesn't show it right away, just so that you can see it was killed.

Well, it doesn't replace it with a question mark. It uses random, weird graphics, and sometimes doesn't even use the right name. I've been using it for a week now
For example, the one on my halloween overlay that I am currently using shows some weird x-ray style graphic, even though the recent user has an actual image as their avatar

The image comes from the twitch API, but there's a thing with twitch: they have both a user and a channel object, and the images don't necessarily match

I might be late to the game on this but Iโve noticed lately that the bot doesnโt announce hosts in chat anymore? I get the alert sometimes if itโs less than two viewers but no audio. And one of my friends who streams directly from the console has notice he doesnโt get any kind of a word in the chat either. Is this a Twitch thing?

We only see and announce hosts that have at least 1 viewer with them. Any auto-hosts that have 0 viewers or manual hosts that have 0 viewers are filtered out before hand
As for the chat alert, I'd suggest to check the chat alert module for the bot - disabling it and re-enabling it should sort it out if it worked properly.

I think I may have found the issue

apparently its an image size issue
resizing the image seems to make it show various parts in the little preview box for it
turns out that making the image 200x200 makes the whole image show up
make that 180x180 cause 200x200 cuts off the bottom of the image ๐

I linked my Twitch but all the help videos seem to be for Windows. I go into my dashboards and - Okay I don't see that nice and easy click tab and BOOM I have Kappgen installed. I use OBS. And this really great gal "Random Girl Singing" advised I come to this cool place. So does it take a updated version of OBS? An overlay of some kind? How do I get Kappagen on the Mac? This is a normal thing as Raids also come in as a hosts alerts directly from Twitch's API.

One way at the current moment as a work around, as raids come in as a host practically is to disable the Raids alert and sort of "rename" the hosts alert to lets say "<streamer> is dropping <X> viewers into our humble camp! Man the walls!"
Just so that even if you get hosted or raided, they both look the same.

I poked internally about comparing user names, but was countered with the above arguments, so we are not sure if we should ignore host alerts that come along with the raid alerts.

@zenith widget the number does not concern me nearly as much as the action chosen. it is a very different thing to passively host and to actively raid. that's why i want the alerts to be different. the numbers pushed by twitch's api are notoriously unreliable anyway.
at any rate, the option to ignore host alerts when being raided by the same streamer would be welcomed for me. i want to use separate alerts to make people that go out of their way to raid feel special and different from hosting. but currently to do that i need to receive two alerts for what is effectively one event. and the annoyance of the double alert outweighs any benefit of showing me slightly more accurate numbers.

Good morning everyone, I have a question. I added the Hypeboss ( Which I love btw) but I tested alerts earlier and it does stay with the fake alert names. It did not reset to it's original state of the damage my viewers did. Is there a way to fix this?

the latest update on SE addon for obs seems to mess things upp. It wants me to set up the bot. But when i do that the screens just turns purple and i have to exit and reopen obs to make it work again. Also it logs me out from twitch

If you set a certain message count before the timer gets triggered the bot looks for that message count in the last 10 minutes before the trigger time
If there were less than the set amount of messages in that time period, the message wont be triggered
