Follower Subscriber und Re-Sub is working during stream but Host and Raid not... when I do a test over the dashboard Live/offline it works and it is showen in OBS and the sound is also there. (Count is on 0 so the alert always shows up 😉 ) but when someone raid/hosts me there is no alert at all 😦 what am I doing wrong?

Twitch doesn't have a "notification system" for hosts (unlike follows, subs, raids, etc.) so the only way for StreamElements to know that you are being hosted is to connect through you to twitch. This connection is made on:

Whenever the filter catches someone, it doesn't just delete the offending message. It deletes all of that person's messages. I'm wondering if there's a setting somewhere to change that, or if I could have messed up some settings to cause it.

Thats a twitch thing
Because the bot times out some one, twitch's chat automatically "deleted" all of the previous message - I think it part due to thinking that the person is perma banned for offensive spam

You can use an extension for the chat called BTTV or FZZ that upon changing a setting or two, you can actually view the deleted message
Only real fix is actually Twitch doing it and its not a problem to be fixed actually.

The real issue is, the chat platform Twitch uses is super outdated and is almost considered a legacy feature, but Twitch have admitted they can't touch most stuff on the chat features, because it was built on an old infrastructure and it will take even more time to actually remake the chat function for the platform

@dusty merlin there is not one directly, but what I recommend doing is using the stream store, and creating a Queue stream perk. Doing this will allow you to set a loyalty point cost on joining the queue, and you can approve/deny people from the redemption list when you finish playing with them

Clicking on the cam in the scene menu then going over to the right and selecting edit scene (it should put a red box around your selected source) then you can adjust the size of the window in preview mode and if you want to ignore the aspect ratio just hold shift when adjusting the size it really should work.

To duplicate a layer on an overlay select the layer that you want to duplicate in the layers drawer (bottom left of the editor) and then select the duplicate button with the red asterisk right above the layers panel. You can duplicate a layer to the same overlay or to other overlays.

I went in and set up a simple blank overlay and added the "Media Share" Widget, but media request still says "No widget found" When I try to have it play some stuff I threw in queue. I saved the overlay and tested other widgets to make sure that was not the issue, it just seems to be media share.

Are you using hardware encoding, like nvenc? this expectation can occur from that. Was this previously working, and just crashing now? If so, reinstalling OBS might be a worth a try. The browser source plugin is crashing, and we are not going to be able to read the stack trace to say what exactly triggered it. Only an OBS dev would be able to say.

What you are using to switch are "Scene Collections"
which is like the folder that the scenes are stored in
So instead of just switching scenes, you are switching to a whole new file
which means OBS has to load up all the scenes and sources for that collection (which it doesn't have loaded already)

You could do different scenes for the swapping, i have done that before as well.

i was wondering, like... why does when deleting a picture/video/sound it kinda removes it from the storage but then it updates back to the size with the file

Hello @tardy mulch , If you delete it from the overlay editor, you will still be able to find it in the storage.

So today I had my first resub and it upped the subscriber goal. Am I correct in understanding then that each "subscriber" is effectively every single month subscribed? I thought it would count towards unique subscribers, not also counting resubs. Is there a way to exclude those on the counter?

@hollow void to customize your overlay/alert, you would need to go too your Stream Elements dashboard > My Overlays > select your overlay > go into editor and place the widgets

It would seem I am unable to change the name of my bot via ground control because I do not have the "oAuth token" setting for the bot within the ground control app. Does anyone know how to fix this? I have tried to restart the app and also part the channel and rejoin the channel for the bot

- StreamElements bot modded and in chat
- Active overlay with alerts
- StreamElements tipping page in the panels below the stream (!panels)
- Create a twitch account for the name you want to use
- Ground Control app must be running
Steps to enable custom name
- Sign in to https://twitch.tv with the bot account
- Install and run Ground Control (!gc for download)
- Visit https://twitchapps.com/tmi/ and generate an oAUTH token
- Copy/paste everything in the box to Ground Control oAuth settings and enter the name for the bot account
- Restart Ground Control (custom name may take a few minutes to take effect)

@vivid sapphire The answer to that is, Twitter are stopping some APIs from working, which hinder the bot from talking in chat about tweets and such
Afaik, a workaround(???) is being worked on, but can't really say for sure on that really and no ETA, but something is being worked for with Twitter

@indigo bone There are some templates for commands you can use. Check the variables as well, as there is one that is ${user.rank} that is tied to the loyalty points.
As for an actual duplicate to the Top command, I'm not sure about that, as the !top command has options to show top watchtime online and/or offline

I need help with Media Share. I am streaming from my PS4 using the Avera Live Gamer Portable 2 capture card which is connected to my Mac. I am trying to set up media share to play music quietly in the background. I have it added to my overlay and the song names pop up but on stream you can not hear the music. When i turn my computer sound up it plays out of my computer when i test it off stream.
Not sure what to do to get it to play. May be because i mute my computer mic during stream because i talk through my headset. I mute it so that you dont hear me talk twice and so it wont create an echo. Not sure if thats the problem or not. If anyone can help me figure this out I would greatly appreciate it.

If you've muted your computer sounds in general while streaming, then thats the issue. Try not full muting computer sounds and use Windows Sound mixer to determine the volume which would be best for while streaming. Ask your chat while adjusting of how it sounds or get a friend to help on that matter

Well this will be tricky...I think there was an audio mixer for Mac and OBS, but I'm not sure on the link or what it was called. You will have to google it, but I think it works like this: You can add different audio sources to OBS using it. This means that you can have it play music, mute your speakers only, not the computer sounds and adjust the volume via OBS
