If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

I can't seem to get the ${count countername +amount} macro to work. My actual command is:

On !cheer 5, ${1} correctly expands to '5', but the ${count...} doesn't expand correctly. If I leave out the '+', then it processes, but it sets the counter to the value, rather than adds. I need it to add, as documented at https://streamelements.com/dashboard/bot/command-variables

Try going to your settings on you computer. An easy way to look it up as well is to click on the magnifying glass in the task bar. Search "Add or remove programs" and scroll down to SE.Live. Should go in alphabetical order. If there's two, uninstall one of them. That might work for you - I had to do it too

Yeah, this minorly screwed over my streamer's subathon, because the new cheers got enabled that very day. And none of the overlays dealing with goals (one custom one I'd worked on for a week) supported it. We ended up having to manually account for the cheers to add to timers & goal counters.

If you updated to obs 28 you need to manually update the plug in for ur stream deck. Same thing happened to me. Google “stream deck obs 28 plug in” and the el Gato site will show you step by step how to do that. I would try that out if you have not done so yet.

Oof. Ok yeah I updated stream deck software, firmware, and the plug in when I went to obs 28 from 27.x. Then you have to remove the old plug in from the obs files. That’s what I did and I had no probs after that. Idk if I can post links but this dude named streamer school on YouTube has a video that helped me do it. Hope that helps

Hello guys! Update for who may find this interesting. If you get banned on Twitch you can still access Streamelements website by loggin in with another account linked to it (like Youtube) and then switch within the website to the Twitch account. I've just tested it and it works!! ❤️

This issue usually happens when there is a streamer that got affiliated status and needs to re-login to have it updated on SE. Or, if for any reason, the token has expired and needs to be refreshed. If that doesn't work, we will need to send it to the staff to look into their account to check if there is something wrong.

One more thing (don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be strictly right, pedant or anything), but ${channel.subs} is not a command, it is a variable that you put in a response for a command.
The reason I'm saying that is because I don't know if you created a command called !${channel.subs} (I've seen this happening before) or just added ${channel.subs} to the response of the command.

I'm having an issue with obs over the last week or so. When trying to stream OBS drops over 60% of the frames and the bitrate keeps going unstable from solid numbers to 0 every other second. I have checked many thing on my end such as: obs version up to date, windows updates, bandwidth tests, overall obs settings, it happened without apparent reason and no matter what I tried to do on my front - nothing worked and the issue still persists.

Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

I've signed out and signed back in, cleared cookies and cache and reinstalled bttv Extention, and signed back in. (A lot wasn't working but I almost have it all back.)

My Kappagen overlay doesn't show any of my emotes or any BTTV emotes after the name change, but both emotes work on my stream.

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

Hello out there, I need your expertise and help..... 😄 !

I had taken a break from streaming, now the big update from OBS Studios came and after I updated everything, I now have the following problem.

My Stream Elements is somehow not linked to Twitch, at least I think so. Because ANY command I have stored (example !hype or !lurk etc.) no longer works. In the chat, the command is called with ! displayed, but in the private chat he then writes out the e-mote stored there, and the e-mote itself is no longer displayed to me in the chat. In short, StreamElements no longer reacts to the e-motes and writes them out so that only I can read them. What I just don't understand is that StreamElements is stored as moderator on Twitch as it should. I've disconnected from OBS and logged back in several times but nothing. Should I log out of OBS altogether? Or am I missing something?

I hope someone has the solution. PS I had the problem before, but SE took care of it after that it worked again. But unfortunately I forgot how it worked/was 😦 . greeting

I think that the Twitch alerts do not actually show in chat logs so I doubt it's possible, but I'd at least like the cheers to trigger an alert of some sort.

Have you tried totally logging out from Twitch, and ALSO totally logging out of stream elements. Delete any cookies for Twitch and SE, and then log back in to Twitch first and then back into SE afterwards. Worked for me last time this happened. I "think" it's to do with out of date cookies.

OH - And disconnect SE from your channel via the dashboard (part channel button) before you logout as well and reconnect it to your channel AFTER you have logged back in.

WAIT - Let me put the list in order............

1. On SE Dashboard, disconnect SE from your channel.
2. Logout from SE (Click on yout pic top right and click logout)
3. Logout from Twitch on OBS AND on the website.
4. Delete all cookies from Twitch.tv and streamelements.com
5. Login to Twitch on the website.
6. Login to SE on the website
7. "Join channel" on SE Dashboard
8. Reconnect OBS to your account.

If you are getting SE to use your OWN emotes, you HAVE given SE a sub to your channel so it can actually use them haven't you ?

Otherwise it can only use global emotes or the non-sub emotes on your channel

I'll point out I am not SE staff - Just another streamer, but on my own channel I have 3 type of emotes. Non-sub emotes, Sub emotes and Animated Sub emotes. SE can only use the non-sub ones unless you gift a sub to SE. (I BELIEVE I am correct in saying that)

To test, put a global emote e.g. "LUL" into a message and see if that works

That's exactly what ZoeBallz told you. You either have to give the bot a subscription or you can use a custom name, so the bot will play with your account name, which is subscribed and can use the sub emotes.

Hello! I made widgets to play a subscriber alert on 100 gifted subs. Now that I'm streaming that alert with no gifted subs is playing hundreds of times with no way of stopping it. I deleted the entire overlay from my stream elements account, I deleted the sources on OBS on all my scenes, and I've completely logged out and refreshed my token on the website and it is still playing over and over again.

hello! can anyone help me out? so i am a new twitch and youtube streamer, and i am a vtuber as well. i already made my avatar and my background so that is complete. i use obs btw. what i am having trouble with is that either no one is joining my stream or people are joining but no one is commenting. i have selected a chat overlay for my stream and put it in obs. how do i make it work though? also, when i try to check out my stream on the twitch website, my stream is delayed. so for example when i make a movement, that movement is delayed by like 7 seconds

Is that usual? We really wanted to swap from streamlabs to streamelements but the alerts just randomly started playing and it was set up only for 100 gifted subs but kept playing.

This isn't usual but trying to see what could have caused it to happen.

Only thing to make sure that you have Shutdown source when not visible and Refresh browser when scene becomes active checked under the browser source properties.

Also to double check and make sure that there is no overlay editor open on the streaming device.

Also, make sure that when you're emulating, that you have "preview live on stream" disabled that way you can test in the editor without sending the alert to the stream.

Make sure that you had added your overlays to OBS by adding a new browser source in your scene. Paste your overlay URL in the browser source properties, set the dimensions to 1920x1080 (unless you changed them on the website) and check Shutdown source when not visible and Refresh browser when scene becomes active,

Those steps are:

1. Exit OBS (make sure OBS is not running)
2. Delete %appdata%\obs-studio\plugin_config\obs-browser\obs_profile_cookies
3. Start SE.Live/OBS
4. Settings > Stream > Disconnect > Connect

Please keep in mind that there is no guarantee that you will receive an invitation. There is no direct application for specific campaigns nor is there a formula to get an invitation. Simply using StreamElements and being an active member of your platform will help your chances of getting a sponsorship.

You set a base sub alert to your liking and anything that is case-specific is done via variations.

Granted you can't mix tiers with other things but still doable.

Hey everyone. So I am using the loyalty system and I run my first giveaway yesterday. Everything seemed to work but the only way people could buy ticket was from my public page. !enter and !ticket were not working. I had my overlay with the giveaway on my page. And when it started , streamelement posted the info. But !giveaways was not working either. Any idea? I am using OBS 28.02

And this is solely in the tipping settings.

If you've got PP setup for other features it won't be shown unless specifically set for tipping.

I have it setup for tipping but then, when somebody uses paypal to tip, they send the money directly to my paypal account and thus see my name and email address. I thought SE:Pay would prevent that by collecting the donations onto my SE account and then I could manually withdrawal from there.

However, when a sub is GIFTED not purchased for yourself, it takes 1000 HP. If 2 subs are GIFTED it takes 1500 HP. If a sub is just purchased it takes 500. Is something broken or is the x2 the damage for the first gift a standard?

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Only way to do that is to right click the image and open it in a new tab. it will show the original file and sound.

Alternatively, if it already is set up as an alert, press f12, emulate the alert and the URL for the assets of the alert will show up and you can click it to open in a new tab to save.

Is there a specific page I should try right clicking the file on? The pages I have tried so far do not give me the option to open in a new tab. And for the F12 method I think I am in a little over my head there. I am currently using Chrome, is there a browser that would work better for this?

The F12 is easier than you think.

Streaming Tools > My Overlays > Edit > Press f12 > Emulate > Emulate alert

A Link will populate where it says "Playing". Right click the link, open in new tab and it will open a new tab with the image or audio. Click the three dots (for audio) and save or Right click, "save file as..."

Please keep in mind that there is no guarantee that you will receive an invitation. There is no direct application for specific campaigns nor is there a formula to get an invitation. Simply using StreamElements and being an active member of your platform will help your chances of getting a sponsorship.

Hello! I'm having issues with my timers today. Screenshot will hopefully explain it better than I can in a short message, but in general timers were acting very strange. One didn't appear at all, one appeared out of order (and also didn't appear sometimes), and one that's for running ads kept giving me an error that I wasn't able to show ads (I am an affiliate and should be able to). I had to run ads manually by typing the commands into chat.
