yes. the xp stacked every round, so if I win 10 000 in one round, and ten thousand in a second one I would recieve the previous 10 000 + this rounds' 10 000 even though it was a different match and I already recieved previous xp. You get capped XP on official servers, however you only get this on official servers. On the topic of weapons, more specifically the unlocks, you get nothing in portal, not even in official modes. You can however get these in AOW or HZ.

They won’t fix anything because it’s simple. Dice is lazy. Don’t believe me? Look at anything they’ve ever released. It’s embarrassing. No battlefield has ever launched in an alright state, but even the worse battlefield rated/received games like hardline, battlefield 1/5, and I’m pretty sure there was a mobile game years ago. Battlefield heroes or something it was called. Better then this game. Is it fun? In aspects, but the overwhelming majority of the game is just boring. Even portal is boring. TBH I think there should be more curated modes in Portal that would allow XP gain, but there are also experiences that will not give XP based on their ruleset (cf. Andy's Wingsuit Training where you don't do any kills)

yeah I think keeping progression out is intended as well.

I think since this is an FPS they might not be big on the progression/leveling up part of the game, but the motivation for progression/xp earning isn't just to get something at the end of a round, you want to feel that you are rewarded based on your effort, having caps makes every round the same with the same amount of xp, I rather they cut the xp earned per kill by half as long as it's based on your actual results in the game.

And also, the fact that people do not play Portal simply because "no progression" shows that there's an inherent problem with the "reward system" as a whole, if people want to play only to progress and not to have fun, that's a problem

It's more down to the fact that having shared progression and mod support doesn't really make sense. But because they announced it would, when they shouldn't have, everyones going mad.

Mods can implement their own version of progression on a match by match basis, and hopefully in the future that could be persistent. But it shouldn't be shared with a completely different mode.

Also we shouldn't need to progress in these other modes to unlock attachments in the no progression mode.

I'm not sure if I'm alone in this opinion, but BC2 UAV needs a lot more nerfing. In original game it took 30 or something bullets to take him down. UAV was also firing in much more unprecise bursts. Attacker side on BC2 still has a lot of advantages by using UAV.

It should take no more than one direct rpg hit or a mag from XM8 to take him down.

I think no, I think you can only unlock attachments for guns for the main game in the main game but also you can have the + system in portal with bf3 bf1942 bf bad company 2 weapons so I would guess that you can unlock attachments for them soon

Won't let me share in the portal sharing menu but I made a hardcore portal with no HUD with the 2042 operators. I've got Irish, Mackay, Paik and Maria on US side and then Dozer, Boris, Angel and Rao on RU side. So that paired with the red and green chemlights helps with Target ID. The minimal is also still available in the touch pad menu as well so you can spot enemy vehicles a little better and where the objectives are. I'd anyone wants to try it out just let me know. I'm currently hosting on ps5 with cross-platform enabled

I know, but that’s why the official servers are basically pointless because hardly anyone’s there, and when it’s only a few people, bots are desperately needed because it’s a full round with nothing to do. Portal is a great idea, but they ruined it literally day one, nearly 3 later, they’ve not fixed anything. Hit reg isn’t fixed. Choppers firing 2,3,4 flares is still there. Wall glitching a tank isn’t fixed. Chopper range isn’t fixed, and so much more. Xp isn’t balanced, and capturing points isn’t even worth going for half the time

I agree they need to work on admin tools and possibly add a actual admin console and expand on what people can do like for example admins can have access to everything other players cant normally have and for this they just use the console to spawn in or give themselves the weapons you should also be able to whitelist other people on your server to give them admin access as well and much more could be included with this I doubt they will but it is something that should be a thing.

How do I search up a specific server in portal?? Or do I just gotta browse to find the server I’m looking for?? I see people sharing their servers in the portal sharing section but I don’t want to host an experience I just want to join a specific server

You can go into filter/search and change it from servername to experience name and search for servers hosting an experience

If none are live you'll get all servers
