I was hoping to get away from COD and was really looking forward to BF 2042. The marketing was amazing. However, quite the opposite happened: BF 2042 turned out to be a disappointment and Vanguard has been met with praise except for zombies.

I don’t think it’s really the devs fault. They are just the guys making the game assets and code and all that. They have to follow what the leadership above then says. The idea of specialists is cool. But the class system should’ve stayed.

Like you have the BF4 class system, with all their benefits or cons intact. Then, half specialists in those classes with an extra thing they can do. That way we don’t have rockets everywhere.

Let's not absolve the devs of any wrongdoing though. At the end of the day it was still their decisions to go through with specific choices in the game. Like sure, maybe EA forced them to have specialists but I'm sure EA isn't responsible for the frustrating UI, the flat design of maps, the lack of weapons and etc.

You’re right. The CEO hired a UI designer who told the dev how to make it. The ones coding the actual game get each task and complete it. The expectations for the tasks are already made before it gets to them. And they work on it until it passes.

And most lead designers are in DICE rather than EA since EA is just a publisher, therefore there is some fault on DICE's part as well.

I know EA does not exactly have a clean record but to say its all their fault for ALL the decisions is taking some actual responsibility from people who actually made the game. E.g Bioware management in Anthem in which EA had not had a hand in yet people still blamed EA.

well even before they took away xp from bots it was 10xp per kill compared to 50 for a human player. I'm guessing since they are taking their time they might be trying to balance it by changing the amount of xp you get based on what settings you change for the bots in the portal creation app. for example 1hp bots that only have knives shouldn't give as much xp as full hp bots with full loadout.

I guess it comes down to priorities, most people seem to be complaining about bugs, performance, no server browser etc, so I guess there is where their focus is. I personally haven't had any such problems and I'm running the game at around 100 fps on high.
But even if there was problems I know those will be fixed in time. As for server browser, if portal xp wasn't cut at the moment that would be the same as having a server browser but with more options, but seems like people don't realize this. So more worried about what they might do to portal, really don't want them to limit it to the extreme.

Does killing bots help with unlocking attachments for you weapons? I've only been playing portal and co-op, and I have unlocked attachments but now my kills are stuck at 21 even though I've been using the same weapon all day.

Only in AOW Solo/Coop. In portal, unlocks against bots are disabled.

Well this my possible case that might happen in the future.
1.No xp and no progression
2.Lower xp and no progression
3.full xp and enable progression but need to play in specific mode.
4.full xp and enable progression but game config might be fair like 64 vs 64 with same dmg on both side.
5.Free server no xp and no progression but rent server will be same effect from option 4.
6.Only accept portal config will be allowed to gain xp and progression (You need to send the config + code to DICE first for make sure your rule will not be farm server)
7.Cap exp per hour and no progression
