Well, in theory they can, but they are too dumb to implement it right:

• allow local hosting of verified modes with full bots -> pve people happy
• add an option to official playlists to “backfill bots”, if you select it, current behaviour, if not matchmake takes longer but only fill lobby with real players -> pvp only and casuals happy

But I mean, who am I to say how dice should do stuff, they look like they definitely know what they are doing

And I don’t mean that in a sarcastic way btw, they know what they are doing. They re-enabled bots in portal 1 day before a double xp weekend when portal was already flooded by farm xps (that works even without bots btw), so portal goes boom boom and the part of the community who already hate bots have a reinforced view that bots are the root cause of portal problems

sorry, I should have mentioned this. only host you own, it seems when the first game ends it start a new match but all the AI are on your team. so whatever was being done to make the AI not appear as bots, to get full xp, they get put on your team after the first game.

I use an autoclicker to create servers since the "global limit" is reached all the time. I usually don't have to wait more than 5 minutes with a clicker going

Another thing that it’s 100% dumb is to tie weapon xp to kills only. I spend most of my time on objectives or finding a way of flanking / setting up for objective def/atk. If hardware mastery was tied to score instead of kills, the grind would be so much less. I mean, if you are playing a good sup/eng/recon you are not supposed to be chasing kills unless it’s a mode where only kill matters…

There is a bug when you try to host your experience, it requests to buy something but not much detail. Also, crashing servers are sometime because of password set where you can't enter

I usually play on Portal servers, in Hardcore mode — the official ones with Battlefield rules — but it always changes from one match to another. They've crippled the portal now; you no longer get points when playing with friends. They've managed to break it. Now you can only remove it from BF6 and add even more paid skins. EA has been sold and they need to make money. Once you've bought the game, the players are just a nuisance. It's repeating itself, just like BF2042.

So, it’s kinda hit or miss. I played 3 games in the closed weapons official playlist. 2 counted for xp and missions, one I had literal 0 progression on anything. All 3 matches was around 2~4 players on each side, rest was bots. I win once and lost twice.
Funnily enough, I had a weekly of playing 15 multiplayer matches, only one of my above games got counted…

Maybe it only counted xp when I lost and only counted for the weekly when I won 😂

Not just "ol'man" either. I'm only 22 and I'm getting sick and tired of everyone abusing the immunity frames (by crouching/jumping whilst shooting, you're actually made temporarily immune, it doesn't just make you harder to hit but actually prevents you from taking hits).

They've probably figured out that not enough portal users buy dumb paid skins, so they want to funnel all the portal users into matchmaking lobbies where they get exposed to the skin users from CoD and get struck by FOMO, and buy skins

We're an older group of guys and girls, 28 - 60, Who jjust like to play chilll games with friends. A bunch of us have been playing together since BF4. We play BF4, 7DTD, Among us, Sea of thieves... We just play games together.

So I didn’t remove the spotting only because of the beautiful voice acting (at least the Italian version)
I’d like to hear soldiers screaming all the time on my server
I can explain why for every single modifier if you ask me!

And also because drones are useless without spotting
The gameplay is hardcore,not the hud
You still have minimap so you can see enemy planes while dogfighting,you can se all the enemies movement while shooting with mortars…I can make a lot of examples
Even in hardcore,this game is so much better with spotting enabled

I actually learned to use the mortar without the minimap :D
You only need a recon with a rangefinder by your side, and then you can start laying down some fire.

This is why they should've just made it so that the Verified Experiences (at full xp) were uneditable. All you should've been able to do on a verified experience was add/remove bots, pick which maps, and which gamemodes - maybe an option for open or closed weapons too.

Any other option outside of that should've then started adjusting XP gain. So for example if you lower soldier health by 5%, it adjusts xp by -5%. Increase soldier health by 5%, then it adjusts xp by +5%. If it makes it easier it takes XP, if it makes it harder it gives XP.

They gave us the option to alter even more things, including options which ultimately remove weapons from bots, then they turned around and went "oh wait a minute we don't like you doing that, but for some reason we did aboslutely nothing to stop or even dissuade you from doing that"

And in fact, on the steam forums one of the EA community guys said this is exactly what they are doing, making a curated list of experiences that give bot xp. I wantet to make a Conquest Server whit a view tweaks, faster Vehicle spawn and you can crawel when shut down.
An it‘s refilled whit Bot’s at the start.

Yesterday it worked whit Full XP but now, bothing the Server dosent even fill up whit the bot‘s only 12-64.

And if i make one whitout bot's it telles me the same.

I dont minde the grind for a Bit, but they Are killing Portal this way. Yesterday there where so many cool servers, beside the fucking Farm-servers.

But insted to just ban Servers Like this, they fuck it up for all of us, I have so many fun server ideas.

Today they triple/quadrupal down on killing PVE. They actually think PVErs like casual breakthrough. It is not a chill PVE excperience. They insist on killing this game for PVErs meanwhile many of the custom bot farm codes still grant FULL XP, have 64 bots that spawn w/o weps and run right at you. It's absurd how incompetent they are when it comes to portal.

Yes ironic that the only servers outside casual where you get xp from bots solo is where they have no weapons.

Soon player numbers will plummet when cod etc are released. Maybe then they will have to engage seriously with the pve players.

Someone having a rant on a forum. Maybe they were playing on a server with an old config. I.e..mine. I could still start with 1 person on lobby but no weapon progression so I guess Chili HC Conquest is getting bot backfill again.😕

Tons of people don't understand the situation. They think that BFPortalOfficial HC servers don't have progression because of bots or whatever. But the reason is that they are still configured for 1 player start.

In fact, all of those BFPortalOfficial experiences were changed to 1 player start after they removed bot xp, they initially had backfill and then they stopped giving xp. So they disabled bots and then no matches were starting because they required tons of players to start. So then they changed them to 1 player start.

Now they have made 1 player start give no progression, and all servers require tons of players to start... 🙁
Yet to update all of the official experiences so they actually work.

They said bot backfill is 6 per team (I got 24 per team when I ran last night) they said bots are limited further exp wise (I’m getting exp on mine). If they’re making these changes, they gotta make sure they work across the board from the point they implement them

As for max number of bots in a match, not sure. To be honest I'm not interested in 10v10, 6 bots/4 players per team

No the problem is, if I make the exact same mode now, I’d have the current settings with 6 bots per side. My mode hasn’t been updated so has 24 per side yet gets full exp which will just lead to more of exp farm experiences if used as a farming lobby rather than a seeding assistance

There are several others around that were giving progression until recently, and then stopped. No crazy settings, previously verified, official rules servers....

Look up the experience code in the browser and see what that says, I think that's the one that tells the truth

Should just about manage 8 real players as my clans pretty strong at the moment but that's really going to hurt for many and is still going to be tricky at times. EA have lost the plot with this. It really pleases no one. PvE players forced to play with 7 other real people and PvP hosts forced to play with bots to avoid the ridiculous 20 player lobby threshold.

I want a PVE large / Huge Map with missions with 2 squads vs 74 BOTs and objectives.

I want to have jets, tanks, jeeps, helis etc and be able to play and actually practice.

I also want VJoy mouse options for jet flight so I can use pitch / yaw based upon how far I move my mouse from the center instead of lifting my mouse ove and over to just turn -.-

Make it official rules with very limited ability to change settings. 30% xp. If that's too high then reduce it further, don't nuke it to oblivion, but balance it with PVP as necessary

Bot backfill would also be better if bots completely disappear once 10v10 is reached, not remain until the lobby is capped. We do hardcore servers, a bot can’t be altered so you have 12 bots that are at 100 hp roaming like mini bosses
