Brilliant, my MSI Tomahawk Z390 motherboard says "SecureBoot" is enabled, and I made sure the "Secure Boot Mode" is "Standard" and not "Custom"... (it reset to factory default keys when switching away from Custom), but Windows 11 "msinfo32" (System Information) area says "Secure Boot State" is "Off". Lovely.

You may need to change BIOS CSM/UEFI mode to UEFI (recent BIOS default is already UEFI, but if you have older board, it might have default CSM mode).
The "boot mode" is different item from "BIOS CSM/UEFI" mode in boot section, if you can change it to either UEFI or UEFI/Legacy mode, you have incorrectly set CSM/UEFI mode to CSM.

Since I think I was on Standard a few days ago, then it switched to Custom for some reason after I played with settings, despite not saving when existing my BIOS, and then I just now switched back to Standard, I think I'm okay from that perspective. Win11 is the problem now, and ChatGPT lists several options; none of which are good. I may have to not participate in the beta, and never get the game

The one thing that confused me in the UEFI/BIOS now is it says, "Boot mode select: [Legacy + UEFI]"... and then lists several "FIXED BOOT ORDER Priorities", where "Boot Option #1" is "UEFI Hard Disk". #2 is "UEFI CD/DVD." #3 is "UEFI USB Hard...".... all thru #6 are UEFI. Which indicates to me UEFI would be booting (hopefully), not Legacy(?)

and of course if I try to change it to "UEFI only" or whatever, it has some alarming message. Manufacturers and software makers are good at not explaining the implications of your menu choices, or making it sound like the sky will fall

Mine was on "CSM" (Compatibility Support Module), so I set it to "UEFI" instead and that solved the issue! "msinfo32" (Win11) now says Secure Boot State is "On" and the BF6 Open Beta no longer gives me that error about SecureBoot not enabled 🎉 Note: Before exiting BIOS but after making the change to UEFI, it weirdly said the "Integrated Graphics Share Memory" would change from [64MB] to [32MB]. However, I did some Google searches and it's, apparently, normal for my MSI situation, so I rolled with it. PS: I guess you told me the solution in your message just before that (sorry), but I wouldn't have known to go to "Windows 10 WQHF support" setting to find that. The reddit link clarified a bit more. PPS: I feel I'm fairly technical with PCs. I can just imagine how painful enabling SecureBoot will be for many people, and it seems like a fair number may brick their system or cause some type of irreversible issues they weren't expecting and won't know how to fix. There's no way I'm recommending this game or beta to less technical PC user friends and family. See, this situation with the secure boot and that is why people need to stop being lazy and build their own PC's at least once, when you do that you need to learn how to enable settings in BIOS off the rip before even installing windows, I think people need to start learning how to do basic BIOS things again, unless it's updating the BIOS (which is 1000x easier than it use to be) most things in BIOS require you to make sure of your settings before you move on, secure boot and turning on TPM are about the easiest things you do in BIOS apart from turning on your XPM/ XPO settings for your DDR RAM. All of these settings are explained in your Motherboard user guides that you get in the box with the motherboard or availible online from the motherboard vendor. Easiest way to get in the BIOS is to restart the PC and most boards I've used you need to spam the DEL key on initial start up, from there you look for the tab security.

It's a beneficial experience, for sure, but by building it "once", you're not accounting for the passage of time. If you built a PC in 2010, or probably even 2017, that gives you pretty much zero experience on the things we're talking about today. Not everyone has a career path through The Geek Squad at Best Buy, and not everyone keeps up with all the latest techs, hardware/software/BIOS evolutions, or OS requirements and changes. Not everyone wants to waste a weekend or week building their own PC, after researching parts for a month or more, when they can pay a professional or vendor who does it for a living to do it... do it 'correctly'... and do it with warranty/guarantee, etc. I contend it's the year 2025. BIOS interactions are pretty archaic. And manufacturers, in my case MSI, has done the absolute bare minimum with explaining anything in the BIOS, and does the bare minimum with understanding potential implications of changing settings. Much room for improvement in user design and experience. You also need to Google search a bit more. It's 5 minutes if you ignorantly push a bunch of pretty buttons in the BIOS, but some Google searches will show you how you can easily mess your system up if you're not careful. Just because you chose to build your own system and think you know it all, doesn't mean everyone else has your same life experiences. Your stance is like a Tesla engineer taking the stance that people should stop being lazy and just design their own car at least once so they know how to troubleshoot the autonomous driving system in their car, and not waste the technicians time with such silly questions. I've built my own PC a time or two, and upgraded it a lot, and been in the BIOS a bunch of times before 2025. I choose to be cautious if there's any chance of bricking my system

Thats literally just a text step by step, not an automated process.

Making an allaround fully automated process for any BIOS change is a very complex and risky thing, almost impossible. At some point the script would need to know mark and make of the users MB, and BIOS version. Running anything without this would literally mean trouble 😅

I'm fine. Already got mine squared away... after confirming UEFI, GPT, TPM 2.0, and SecureBoot enabled in my BIOS, Win11 was saying it wasn't enabled. That was my issue. I had to clear keys to default (well, turns out I probably didn't have to), and then switch Win10 WQHF support to UEFI. Clear as mud.

I also flashed my BIOS first, since I googled and found that is recommended -- since if you have old BIOS version that has old bugs related to the changes you're about to make that have since been fixed, you could screw things up. And I updated my Graphics Drivers to latest for fun 'just in case'

The bots were only introduced to pad the servers out because of low player numbers in 2042, I'd say for the first few months at least there won't be many bots in BF6.
