Indeed, all they have to do is not temper with the experience progression. I know Portal had lot of XP farms early on, but they removed most progression for it and, simply killed any actually original experience, thus giving us only "hardcore", "extra tickets" or "zombie" modes.
Plus it seems that, since they allow NPCs in this, we could genuinely create PvE missions!

Well, 2042 did want to make Portal the way we saw in the latest trailer. Portal did say you would be able to create your own missions, they even showcased AI patroling. But what happened is, players created tons of xp farm to quickly rise in ranks.
Granted, I did have tons of people trying my gamemodes the first two weeks, that was awesome. Then DICE turned off progression, and people deserted Portal. I kid you not, for the better part of the first year, we had only two servers across all platforms with more than 80 players. That was rough to watch.

Probably, Battlefield's signature is being a FPS that mixes infantry and vehicles. It would be unthinkable to not control a vehicle.

The big thing that breaks me about BF6 is that vehicles seem to have been mismanaged as:

1. No customizable options for vehicles (im talking about guns and countermeasures). For example, for the attack heli there will be no TV missile for the gunner.
2. Most of the maps are infantry focused and small. Only the Mirak Valley and Operation Firestorm seems to be the only vehicle maps. In BF4 we had Lancang Dam, Rogue Transmission, Paracel Storm, Golmud Railway, Hainan Resort. All the other maps were medium-sized with some vehicles. Operation Locker was the only truly infantry focused map. Liberation kinda is vehicle centered but that just plays like a medium-sized map of BF4.
3. No scout heli?? Please let there be a scout heli in season 1....

I think they are trying to appease to the COD crowd tbh. Less vehicles=More infantry gameplay. Battlefield was known for its large scale warfare with vehicles. Im not asking for BF2042 with every map having all the vehicles and no infantry maps. BF4 had the right balance as Golmud, Paracel , Lancang were vehicle focused; Zavod, Hainan and Shangai were medium sized. And Dawnbreaker , Flood Zone and OP Locker were infantry.

It would soften the blow if the Season 1 is vehicle centered like China Rising from BF4 or Armored Kill from BF3

I started with BF2 in pre-school, had a long pause, and jumped back into BF3 at release. Holy shit that game changed everything. BF4 was ass early on, but turned into pretty much the best Battlefield I've ever played later into the build. BF1 and BFV were okay, but I hate WW games with a passion, the aesthetics are just ugly and straight up boring.
