It looks like (CountOf>GetPlayers) does not trigger or work. I want to count how many players are in the game anytime during the game including the players that are not deployed

I pre-ordered 2042 as soon as I saw the maps from BFBC2, I saw port arica and valparaiso and was shocked, this is exactly what I wanted for 10 years while playing BFBC2 starting in 2012. I quickly got bored with all the new parts after it, I never got used to BF4, because of the fact that there were not those shouts of fighters as in BC2, the game quickly bored me. BF1 I didn't want to buy for a long time because of the old setting, but then I liked it more than bf4. In BF5 I liked the beauty of the maps, its colorful and exotic maps. But it's the one I least want to go back to. BF2042 I sometimes play, but after an hour of play, I don't want to continue. But BFBC2 I could play half a day and all day. In 2042 mode portal was abandoned from the beginning, and I bought it just for the sake of it, I just wanted to play on the old maps with new graphics. In the end there was no fixed tab for BAD COMPANY 2 maps in portal mode, the weapons were not even close to what we had in BC2 or BF3. The characteristics of the weapons were also far from what we had in those old games, which made the balance of the game break. On the map valparaiso the landscape and flooded areas are different from what was in the original, this also affected the balance of the map. In the new parts of the game lacks the feeling that around live people running and talking, there are no emotional screams, but on the contrary as if dumb bots running around

Indeed. Setting up custom capture points, breakthrough or rush sections would be a great start. Or defining what areas are out of bounds for instance. At least more map control if a full scale editor is a bridge too far.

What I want to see if the next BF edition, is access to any and all maps over the history of the BF franchise. If DICE gives us, the consumer and player, access to every map over the course of the franchises history, so I can create a server that has any map I want, you will have players never getting tired of playing the game.

Portal is a great for bringing back old (clan) friends back to game again with each other in the same server. Because nowadays in 2042 and the ones before that like V and 1 there is no chance to get together in the same server if you're more then 4 persons. I've made a couple of game mods in Portal and so now and then we make our own Friday Night Battlefield and Beer. We keep our agenda's open for that date and just have some FUN !! just some Old Guys getting drunk and try to be the better player 🍻

The 2042 Portal Mode where it shuffled between like 4 different past battlefield games. I realize that Portal Mode is on rotation but is there some way I should be searching to find community hosted servers that permanently do that? I really liked that Portal Mode and want to keep playing it when I want. Any help greatly apprecaited.

The people looking in the portal server browser are very few 😦 therefore you most likely won't find that experience being hosted, but it could be advertised. In regards to hosting or finding experiences to host https://bfportal.gg is a good website. Also with a dedicated discord server to discuss on portal and get help with it.

Halo redefined the FPS more than any would truly like to admit. Halo Forge, although I never really got into it as deep as others, was a serious game changer when it came to FPS as a whole. I'm honestly surprised no one has tried to follow suit.

a lot of people including me only bought 2042 for portal. 2042 theme did not appeal to me, but the grounded old battlefield games with upgraded graghics and combining them is appealing. It was very hype on the lead up to release, one of the major selling points. only issue is they dropped adding content to divert resources.

Has anyone gotten an error when submitting their application? I submitted it once before, but I saw the announcement about potentially having to restart the app process because of TD. So when trying again I get a message that says, "OOPS! The application has encountered an error. It doesn't appear to have affected your data. Lets try again." Then when you try again, it just does the same thing. If this is not the right place for this kind of question, please let me know where I can ask.

This is a lot of work to do.. the hours of work would cost so much more than they’re currently pulling in - it’s not that they don’t want to, it’s just not feasible. They see faster money with cosmetics so they focus there. The stakeholders don’t play the game, they look at spreadsheets.

Cheers, it's quite a dynamic mode where it plays out like Conquest at first, then turns into more of a map wide Rush experience, as the number of capture points dwindle it then becomes King of the hill.

Tried to create own Hardcore experience without 3D-SPOT feature.

  • There's SELECT between "3d-spot" and "ping markers" but both of the variants disables 3dspot AND ping markers. You cannot disable 3d-spot only. Being selected "ping markers" still allowed me to highlight enemy with Q key and highlight nearest enemy through the walls. Any scout device highlight enemy too.

  • There's two options - DISABLE minimap and HIDE minimap. Actually, there is no option "ENABLE ONLY AIR RADAR" so both options are the same except square at left-bottom side of the screen. Remember, enemy appeares on your minimap once he's started to fire, that makes hiding useless, and required to increase gameplay movement speed making shooter casual instead of teamplay.

Being disabled, ping markers + minimap makes airborne gameplay useless. You cannot ask for air support, and you cannot see enemy tanks without it. Also speed changes (more speed = more rotation speed) makes time to lookup the target unbelievable small.

I tried to play with people who tired of non-stop immediate kills from tanks, snipers or SMG-runners to prefer slower gameplay + teamwork. And that possibility was completely broken.

Before a shill for EA investors took over the #battlefield-legacy-titles discussion, I made a point that others saw/agree is how Battlefield takes risks and changes in each game. Their big risk/change was classes into hero types, and it just didn't work. People enjoy things like a random hero like a kit on the battlefield like BF1, or levolution changing the map a bit, but the developers lost touch what made BF great. The core class system is a key component to what we llike BF.

I agree. While I think levolution changing the map vary, but in Shanghai, it went from a tower capture point where you need an elevator to a helicopter became a ground level point. That is how changing how the game plays in a single match should work.

The new Battlefield must return with specific repair stations at bases for ground and air vehicles, as well as specific reloading points for vehicle weapons (ground and air) and individual Infantry weapons! This was very well designed in Battlefield 1942 from 2002 and Battlefield 2 from 2005!

It either needs to be increased or decreased because the current level is Hella Disrespectful in the way that from the first hit, you have enough time to turn to look at the player turning you to Swiss cheese - maaaaaybe gettin off One Shot if you're lucky - and that's it. You don't got time to do anything but make peace with gettn got from behind or off camera left/right

And realistically, snipers need to be a one shot kill from the chest up because no one can take a sniper around and survive - even with level four plates (Lvl III are actually for this but still)

Thank you for your response. My big concern is Portal IS going to be our community servers and we won't have any real control over them if say hackers start to infiltrate. Like if I had a server of my own I wouldn't ban someone if I didn't have proper evidence to do so.

A nuisance to other players is a nuisance to your server... It might cause other players to rage quit becoz of a handful of players. Why not kick them once. Then monitor your server if they join back and create a nuisance again just ban them. You are not banning them from the entire game just your server. They have other options to sweat at.

Hello, I've been playing this particular server I created and to me it is a lot of fun. It's called "Tommy guns Subs and Pistols". One faction is BC2 with you guessed it, Thompson Submachine guns. The other faction is German WW2 and they use Rockets, MP-40 sub guns, and Pistols. Both sides have their vehicles. The damage is high so the guns take enemies down quickly. 64 v 64 on Conquest maps. abzfz3 is the code. check it out.

I've just tried to make my first portal server and have run into an issue. I've tried looking through the settings to see what I've done wrong.

Anyways, when I load in, my character and load out isn't there. Like none of them are. I don't see my character or any of my weapons at all. I'm on PS4 if that helps and have done the portal setup on my phone.

May I suggest a feature in Portal for the future? When we set up our own servers. Allow Server creators to add bots by name search or friends list. The( bot clone a real player) feature will create the player(AI) using the current stats and options that a real player uses to create a unique bot to play against in the server. A server creator then can save the player to populate his own server. Server creators can change, delete or add cloned players anytime to keep a local data blank of AI players. When the game syncs to the cloud then the player clones can update or change to current real player setups. Just a thought to change things up a bit.

Does anyone know what happened to the original maps when 2042 launched there were a few good maps. I'm surprised they were gone. What happened? Did they remove it? I remember a maps with a desert storm dust lol. You could not see anyone in battlefield for a few mins lol. Good times.

All the base maps were reworked after the launch of the game. The maps were redesigned in many areas such as the removal of the E Flag on Renewal which was the water purification factory type of area, the Stadium was removed from Hourglass and an underground section with tunnels was added to the main intersection of the map opposite the tall buildings. The sandstorm is still there along with the tornados. Stadium was added back to the game as a solo map where the stadium and the small area outside of the stadium are the playable areas.

Hello everyone! I noticed on the Capstone map that one of the respawn locations takes place inside fighter jets already in flight, as was the case in Battlefield 4.

With all due respect to all the teams involved in the development of Battlefield 6, I would like to state here that I disagree with this type of respawn system, as it is very inconsistent and unrealistic for what Battlefield 6 deserves to be as a war game.

In Battlefield 2 (2005), the respawn system occurred at bases or in conquered areas, and only after respawning could soldiers enter vehicles (ground or air). Yet, they want to repeat this same mistake from Battlefield 4!

A spawn point on the Market Garden map in Battlefield 1942 has you spawn in a parachute. There isn't that much difference between that and a plane from a technical standpoint and if the goal is to remain faithful to the original map design that's not a bad thing.

You can pre-load the game as early as August 4 at 15:00 UTC (8AM PT) and start playing during the Open Beta Weekends:

    If you signed up for Battlefield Labs before July 31, you don’t need a code. Just log in with the EA Account you registered with Battlefield Labs. (That is what the official site says)
