(1) reducing the flying vehicle respawn timer to 0, allowing the player to respawn in a flying vehicle right after player death
(2) allowing PVE AI on foot and vehicles
(3) using current 2042 maps

i have tried using air superiority (no AI), custom air superiority (flying vehicles have timer), custom conquest and lowering vehicle respawn timer to 0 (flying vehicles still have timer).

You can use custom conquest, there's 2 timers you need to lower. The Vehicle Spawn Delay and the Call-In Vehicle Cooldown

what exactly do you want to achieve? You can just set the era to battlefield 4 if you don't want specialists - but then you wouldn't have 2042 guns. With the rules editor you could workaround by removing the character gadgets

I came up with three ideas that could be potential Free for All modes (because I only made one before)

1. Domination 5 flags
2. Asset Seizure: 5 Players, round-based, all start with ownership of a flag. If you go down when you have no flags, you're out of the round.
3. Old School FFA: spawn with a M1911, pick up weapons that are placed on the map and the weapons respawn after 15 seconds.
   Not sure which one sounds the best or the most fun atm...

Most of them are determined on what map it is, I've created many CO-OP servers too and they're so much fun. I've also had experience with AI vehicle issues. As far as i'm aware, spawn on map doesnt work for AI. I'll try and find a fix then i'll let you know

I normally do the solo/coop mode on breakthrough with bots. And select a certain map. I personally like orbital. I also make the bots to the lowest difficulty mode.

Any maps works fine. I don’t capture the objectives till I have about 100 tickets left. I do that to prolong the game session.

I did have an idea for a game mechanic where being in a vehicle offers a buff to it depending on what class you were.
Like Supports would slowly heal and resupply nearby friendlies, Engineers would very slowly repair the vehicle over time and Recons give an occasional yet short ranged spotting pulse.

Could be potentially done through Portal's editor, would be a neat side thing but not sure if I would ever introduce it in a mode of my own

The competitive mode is called Overload
8v8, attack and defend with MCOMs in the center. There are two rounds where one team attacks and the other defends. Get points by arming objectives and keeping them armed. Each MCOM has a fuse of 60 seconds and they don't reset when defused. Bonus Points for Exploding an MCOM and having time left over. After a round ends, the sides swap

Yeah you're right. The dumb part is I see many servers saying "Full XP" but are set to Moderate XP and they have little modifications like mine.

Hey guys, I've created a 24/7 Redacted Rush 64 server in Portal. I've noticed there really aren't any Rush servers playing Redacted only. I made it as similar as I could to the 24/7 Locker Rush servers you'd see back in BF4. It's full XP and no bots, but I can enable them. It's a persistent server, so join anytime.

That's why you check the XP tag before joining and see if it says "Full XP" or "Moderate XP".

And also maybe the reason why people think there portal mode (PVP AI) is Full XP because the portal mode editor no longer updates the XP tag on it after saving the mode. It's stuck on "Full XP" which isn't the case when it comes to PVP AI

Well as long as all other settings are left as default while PVP AI is enabled it will be moderate XP but the moment you change even one setting (Except map rotation) it becomes Restricted XP

The Chinese community told us the portal server has been flooded with a attachments unlocking server which abuses AI pathfinding bug on Redacted

And the dumb guy who made the code set the server to be 128 players with PVP AI

Creating new portal servers in Asia and sometimes in Euro now always shows the "No Server Found" error

And those servers were still on even if there's nobody left in the server

The name of the server is "GUANZHUBILIBILIYONGZI" and you can see 100000 servers running empty or 1/128

Guys, I just know the cause about why Portal got suck, cause a Chinese Video Channel from Bilibili teach new players to build 128 pvp bot RUSH server to grab weapon attachments. He told new players to set keys on server, but he didn't tell ppls how to close the server or mind close the server.
Chinese BF2042 community is now focuing on this damn guy and his channel, we all blame him and ask him delete the server code and delete the video, but no use on it.
If Dice notice this, please remove this guy's Portal codes, Y0nGZ1 or YOnGZ1, this is the guy who cause Portal full and down.

the thing is, that one can't completely take down persistent servers - even if you do "Take down" in the admin menu, the server will still be listed in the browser. Technically it will be shut down though. Only if one joins a server with 0 players, it is actually booted up in the name of the joiner.

4 vs 16 maxed out bots. So you can run it solo or squad up with friends.
And these bots are maxed out. DICE should replace their in game AI with these bots.

If your controller turn off aim assist and improve that raw aim. Then turn it on when you hit online lobbies.
Only rule is to not farm them because they are bots. So it's easy to just sit in a corner prone with a LMG and just hit them at a door.

If you create a portal experience you can choose the era for each team. Within the game itself there is no possibility to select a team. You will be auto-assigned to a team. You can build in custom code in the rules editor to allow team switch though.

this is for everyone who enjoys 64v64 rush. I know there is already a server called epic rush on Portal and everyday full. Especially on the new map Redacted, its no secret many complaining about getting stucked at first sector and whole team sitting at stairs as attackers and the big lag which caused by non stop nades from same spot whole game, its frustrating to miss the full map&gameplay experience, the real fun on the map begins after the first sector. But still everyday the server is well visited, for good reason its a good made server but just dont fit for the new map. So i thought maybe i try to change something and create a similar server with minimal changes. I would also think that the only solution for real fun games in portal is to completely eliminate xp in it, as long as there is no proper way to distinguish xp farms from unique modes. "Trusted" or "verified" modes could be added to the "official" or "custom experiences" tab in the host menu of portal and allow XP.

As long as your server is active by people playing on it, or it is a persistent server, people can search for it. The server browser by default only shows a couple of recommended servers, but not all.

Portal is spammed with XP farm servers where sometimes only 1 person is occupying a server. These servers exploit issues where it is possible to farm XP and they take away all the server slots in Portal and prohibit any good or unique game modes to be hosted. Also the server browser will only show 90% XP farms instead of really good portal modes.

On portal you generally see two types of matches, one is hardcore which is not a problem, and bot farming and pretty much all the servers are bot farming and it's a problem.

Hi, is it possible to turn Killcam off and the ability to ping while dead? You can ping the killer through smoke and containers.

I don‘t want to completly turn off pings, because then you can‘t ping flags as squadleader.

With these options you can also specify that your server/game should behave like/run old battlefield titles

You can choose vehicles, you just need to make sure the teams are set to a specific faction and not set to "map default"

It seems to be map dependant. The game only supports specific vehicles for certain maps for Rush. For instance the transport heli is available on Caspian Border but not on Arica Harbor

Happy to say that because this has been fixed. My Shoot-House experience now works as it used to. Additionally, it now also works on Last-Generation consoles for those that play on Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

no, you can use the persistent server option for it to appear in the server list for 7 days without players being on it. If you have players on the server, it will be there even if you leave and don't use the persistent server option

I don’t think so unfortunately. It seems that you just can’t use the Soflam properly in there. You can put it down but it just does nothing. But maybe they changed something by now, I know that it didn’t work half a year ago so…

For your question there are two solutions:
a) Use an ongoing (global) rule with the condition Equals(Modulo(GetGameModeTimeRemaining, 10), 0)
=> whenever remaining game mode time modulo 10 equals 0 (every ten seconds)
b) use the TrackVariableAtRate block

PvP AI will be replaced by human players if anybody joins. PVE AI will always be there and won't be replaced by players. So I would say you should go with PVE AI.

Unfortunately dice is not wasting a single word on portal... We see small fixes in the background with each patch, but no real content. There were some promising hidden additions a while ago, but they got removed again. So they might still be working on things, but it feels like there will be a separate release of portal or only new things with new games 😦
