Dice, Ridgeline, Ripple, im saying this again yall have an opportunity to deliver a great casual Extraction Shooter and take over with a proper F2P mode now that DMZ is getting sunsetted, scrap that BR (?) and make a proper iteration of Hazard Zone.

Cudnt agree more. COD is dying and other devs/studios need to step up and take advantage. BR has been crowbarred into so many franchises, even the Ghost Recon franchise attempted to include a mode of it, they failed with it completely.

Battlefield does not need a Battle Royale, it's not a franchise fit for battle royale, unlike cod BF is based on cooperation and playing the objective, a mode where the only goal is to kill everyone else... how does that fit into BF? sandbox extraction shooters with missions and objectives, quests, contracts, puzzles WITH pvpve alongside would fit the Battlefield name like a glove alongside AOW, Battlefield needs to stay true to itself, and Battle Royale is not battlefield.

We are both getting the definitions of TDM and BR a little mixed.
BR for me is single winner where TDM is for teams.
Id agree with all u said again, TDM/BR modes dont fit with BF ‘as it stands’.
Let me qualify that ‘’ remark.
I think both BF & GR franchises could make TDM/BR work. Make it large maps, multiple 4 man teams and most important (for me) make extraction/win points actually defendable.
For me the best example of this is The Divisions’ franchise Dark Zone.
Only thing that ruined that for me was lack of hack proofing of the game. The actual gameplay was great example of what i think would work in the BF & GR franchise.
Just think of this example….. 1/2 size of campaign map from GR Wildlands…… weapons/kit all available from campaign…. 10 x 4 man teams….. 4 bases available to raid….. PVP or PVE, choice of tactic down to each team how they play it….. 2 extraction/win points.

I think if implemented right Battlefield could do an amazing BR mode.

I believe BFV Firestorm was underrated, if they would've made it F2P with other features I think it would've been a game changer.

They don’t even need to implement useless missions and other stuff like DMZ did. The mode is a competitive one and players should focus on surviving against other squads and extracting.
This is why I did not like DMZ — there were players who were focusing mainly on missions and most of the servers were boring as there were no encounters between squads.
Hazard Zone is already a good foundation for an extraction shooter.
It just needs maybe a loot system and a good progression system.

And the studios definitely have a chance to create something great.
Besides Hunt: Showdown (which inspired Hazard Zone) I don’t know of another good extraction shooter for the casual players that is available on all platforms

Firestorm was indeed great, but the market is oversaturated with BR games and I don’t think Battlefield should ever try that again.
Whichever studio will create first a good extraction game for the masses, will dominate the market, and EA has a chance on that

Man the division dark zone was awesome, so satisfying to wipe a squad and steal their loot.

HZ is just too one dimensional now. After they took the currency factor away and just gave everyone their custom load out it killed the purpose of the game mode. Originally you had to extract with the drives, destroy the tank and kill other players for max coin in the match. Without that there is really no point to play it, unless you want to be a menace and just wipe squads trying to get trophies.

1. Half or Quarter size of campaign map.
2. 10 or less 4man teams.
3. 4 or 5 maps to raid.
4. Challenging AI defending the bases.
5. Can be either PVP or PVE. Players choose how to play it.
6. Once raid over, extract/win zone is at other end of map and theres a Hunter/Killer force hunting u down till you reach it so u can either stealth or fight ur way out.
   That for me wud b ultimate game.

I was just saying something along the lines of this the other day, about wishing HZ was this.

Right now, I feel HZ is essentially, a 4v4v4v4 Conquest match, over 1 flag, which hapens twice. Would have much preferred what you said, where there is no limit on how many squads extract, and richer experiences in the match itself that can be PvP or PvE depending on how your squad wants to play

It would have scratched the Co-Op itch too

cause if you just decide to go in and focus on the AI and avoid other players it becomes mostly co-op

This is why ppl are still playing Wildlands and Breakpoint. Players are crying out for a proper milsim. Market is flooded with survival games, horrors amd massive team games. If devs just looked deeper instead of rehashing ideas that have been ‘popular’ and see what gamers are crying out for. If they made game similar to my suggestion it wud make them a fortune. But nah….. they wud rather fleece gamers and majority will run along like good little sheep.

Despite what many might think, EA does not do a good job of making money IMO. They could have really identified ways to monetize by appealing to players and theyd be great. Please... How do I find a squad redeploy uplink? A few months ago, it would mark an uplink if the whole squad was down and it was just me. Now I run around like a donkey trying to listen for some dumb noise attempting to find something so my team can play. This just sucks. Is it an update, or is it only happening to me and my friend? 😅

i liked this mode way more than I thought I would, but I tried to look up some explanations of the game mode and most of the stuff is from 2021 and doesn't really match up?

what I've gathered is:

1. Credits and gear-buying are no longer a thing
2. All goal-achievements convert to XP, rather than credits?
3. Data Scanner is no longer a thing?
4. Or Data Scanner is something that only locates players?
5. And/Or Data Scanners can only locate players after 1st extraction?
6. Free Revive if you all die before first extraction
7. Likely only two teams will be able to extract (one per extraction time) and things get Spicy after first extract?
8. Collect Parachute Thingies to get Player Revives / Doggo Spawns / Car Spawns
9. On the initial map, the bars mean...

• SD-card symbol bar = Data Card count/density
• Parachute Thingy bar = frequency of (unspecified) Spawns
• Red Diamond bar = AI Enemy presence

Credits used to drive this game mode. You needed the credits to buy better weapons and gear. Meaning you had to do well in the game to earn credits or got stuck with basic guns depending on what creds you have left. Now after the updates you get your own custom load out. Data scanner is gone now the loading screen shows the areas with highest drives/AI presence. Game mode used to be great now there’s just not enough incentive to play it. Miss those 100k XP games too.

Say if 6 people say someone cheats, but none of them have each other added, that's a pretty big red flag right there. I guess that could be abused though and give false results easily 🤷‍♂️

No bots are not added to teams. The bots are occupying forces they are added in to the game to protect high loot area or towards end game to make the game a bit more difficult. Its a bit annoying some times.

I don't get it... What is the lore? There's some voice line like "Martians dropping into the AO", but then there's stuff like "occupying forces in the AO". So are we stealing data drives from Martian forces dropping them to earth from space? Why exactly, are they dropping them to earth? Why do we even want the data drives? Its actually not half as buggy as it use to be. There was a time you couldnt see uplinks, calling vehicles and dogs was broken, a jeep could ram people out of the plane and my favourite - the invisible plane in hourglass that you had to stand on a vehicle right at zero to get extraction haha

Oh man, and they have been glitched FOREVER! its time they fixed those for sure. there are 3 or 4 in breakaway alone. and this is why Im recreating Hazard Zone in portal. Between the bugged uplinks, broken map rotation coupled with limited maps, they can do better. Dice wont give the people what they want so we have to build it ourselves haha

unfortunately there is no such thing as teammate preferences

the language really depends on the region that youre playing at

best thing you can do is use a VPN to trick the game into thinking you’re in a different region

Its filled with sweaty tryhards who one tap you across the map

cant enjoy or learn the gamemode

as a new player

The mode is not to be played alone
Try to find a squad who you can join and I promise you that you’ll enjoy the mode more when you play it together with a team
